Mission:

REAF is a grass-roots agency founded by two mothers who lost their only sons to AIDS as a way of honoring their sons' memories and of supporting all the other sons and daughters still living with HIV. Through the production of high-profile entertainment events, REAF helps brige the gap in decreasing government and other private funding sources for local AIDS service agencies, promotes awarenes about AIDS as well as the services provided by local agencies. REAF also supports advocacy that affects public policy, education for the prevention of, and research for a cure to AIDS/HIV.

Results:

REAF created a new annual benefit called "Dances from the Heart" featuring dancers from many top Bay Area dance companies in order to increase the number of agencies we support as well as promote the art of dance to our Bay Area audiences. While REAF events are designed to be entertaining and fun, they also create awareness about AIDS and provide funds to help ensure people with HIV and AIDS in the Bay Area continue to have access to the care they depend on.

REAF has demonstrated for years their abilty to give back to the community. This is done in forms of chairty monetary contributions, as well as an being an excellent for of providing entertainment for the contributors and community. Fabulous charity. They do good work and make it fun. I have volunteered for 9 years and continue to go back for the BIG event every year, even though I have moved 3 hours away. With the extensive use of volunteers, lots of money goes to SF non-profits that support AIDS prevention and those ... more »
