Pyramid Inc is a day school for adults with disabilities. While the classes include basic education and life skills, the most important programs are Pyramid's art and music therapy. The impact of art and music on people with a wide range of disabilities is almost miraculous. The Pyramid Show choir performs all around the state, and they are currently performing a version of Oklahoma at the theater at Pensacola State University. I will never forget my first day at Pyramid....the warm greetings and outstretched hands from the students....and then to see the transformations over time....a woman with profound autism who now acts and sings....a young man who spent his first two years at Pyramid hiding in the halls now sings and mentors others in their artwork (he paints wonderful beach scenes)....Artists with profound physical and mental disabilities paint works that sell at local galleries and art fairs...and all performers and artists share in the revenues from ticket and art sales. I could go on for PAGES.
