PERMIAN BASIN PETROLEUM MUSEUM LIBRARY & HALL OF FAME Overview
Programs: Individuals, families and large groups can tour the museum or participate in a number of programs. Quarterly family nights offer a free evening of science exploration. Scout camp-ins allow children to earn badges while "camping out" in the museum overnight. Children enjoy summer classes and traveling exhibits. Brown bag lunches and other special presentations feature special speakers addressing topics related to the Museum. School students tour the facility as an interactive supplement to science and social studies curriculum. Adults also use the Museum as a learning tool to familiarize professionals with the industry. Civic and professional organizations and companies use the facility for meetings and programs. The archives boast the largest collection of petroleum-related materials second in size to the National Archives. This research facility is utilized by the international media,authors and historians and includes historic books, maps, logs, pictures, records and artifacts. The Petroleum Hall of Fame honors over 130 individuals who demonstrate leadership and are pioneers in the petroleum industry.
