I have had the opportunity to volunteer for Operation Legacy for 3 years now. I have seen the love and care they take while serving the community. They began with a big vision and I have seen that vision take form. They now have one of the best food banks in Wilmington, they operate an urban farm that supplies produce for the food bank and they are working on two other farms that will be open air farms that will also benefit the food bank and the community at large. They have amazingly done all of this without government grants or any other aide outside of donations from within their board and a couple of corporate donations. This effort has really changed my life by the way that I serve others and how I look at those who are in need. They to are relevant and although they may be going through rough times right now and are deserving of respect. I to have been one of their clients and was served with love and respect.
