Native animal rescue is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife.

Funds are used to treat and care for the injured, sick and orphaned wildlife of santa cruz county. Between 1,400 to 1,800 animals are received each year. Many of these animals make full recoveries and are released back into nature. Wildlife is also protected through education.

Reviews for Native Animal Rescue

Rating: 5 stars

Since volunteering with Native Animal Rescue over a year ago, I've become the house photographer and the administrator of the web page and Facebook page. In a typical week I'll photograph the new arrivals (orphaned or injured native animals), update the web page, and post stories and photos on the Facebook page. While doing this work, I've been able to observe the staff and volunteers who deliver direct animal care. They are a devoted group of people who strive to provide the best care to the animals with the aim of returning them to the wild. I am repeatedly deeply moved by the work done by this organization.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

the increase of Facebook fans, the increase in volunteers, the increase in on-line donations.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

raise sufficient funds to enlarge the intake center.

Would you volunteer for this group again?

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Very Well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

improved the lighting in the intake center.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

As a retiree, this ongoing experience has provided my life with purpose, enabled me to practice photography, enabled me to learn new computer programs.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

A wonderful organization with dedicated volunteers. It gives me peace of mind to know that there is a place here in Santa Cruz county where I can take any injured or orphaned wild animal who need help. A place such as Native Animal Rescue where all the rehabilitators are trained, experenced and work with veterinarians who donate their services. Native Animal rescue is the only licensed wildlife rehabilitation center in Santa Cruz county. Thank you Native Animal Rescue. Please support this great organization. Their website is: www.nativeanimalrescue.org.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Finding out how much all the volunteers truly care about the welfare of our native wild animals and how very dedicated they are.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About once a year

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
