Mission: To educate and train the citizens of our nation, including the armed forces, in the fields of mathematics, the hard sciences, communications and electronics. In addition, to recruit young people into these fields, promote public awareness of the sciences and preserve the heritage of communications and electronics in our nation.
Programs: The national science center foundation (nscf) separated amicably from the national science center, inc. (nsc) in 2011 and established an independent board of directors. The desire of the nscf is to make and distribute stem (science, technology, engineering, math) concentrated grants leveraging proceeds from real estate holdings and investments. The organization has executed a lease with an accomplished national real estate developer. The leveraging and restructuring of the nscf started in fy12 and continues through fy13 as a protracted process will ensure the organization has the resources to fulfill its mission as a fiduciary. The nscf vision for the future and the mechanisms it uses to carry out its charges have evolved significantly over the last three decades, however, its mission remains the same. The organization expects to develop long-term collaborations and affiliations to accomplish common goals and achieve meaningful results.
