Our chaplain made over 703 visits to patients and family members in the hospita she spent over 1377 hours working in the hospital doing chaplaincy work.

A tremendous partnership with local pastors, medical professionals and family for hospitalized patients at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. In addition to ELCA specific functions, the LCO pastor also provides on-call services for anyone in need.

I had a stroke and multiple operations as a result. My family and I relied on the pastoral services of the ELCA Chaplain in partnership with my home pastor for the almost 4 months of hospitalization. She addressed all the questions and concerns of my family when I was not able to; and, answered all my concerns when I couldn't or wouldn't ask the medical professionals. In addition, this service was important in helping my family decide the DNR decision I left to them -- and am here today 5 years later b

Increase availability from 3/4 to full time.
