Catherine is wonderful ,please help in anyway you can, cash, hay, buy her wonderful book , about a POKO the burro with a deformed leg she rescued. She care & helps all animals . Heres a pic of DAKOTA- a 25 Y.O. MUSTANG SHE RESCUED.
We have worked with Cathy and her rescue for six years now and we are glad to have such a great relationship with a rescue that provides the best care for their horses and burros. Cathy gives her life to these animals and it shows. I hold her in the highest regard and am blessed to call her my friend.
I have worked with Catherine both rescuing horses and transporting them to her facility. She works tirelessly to provide for the animals in her care and they are extremely well cared for. I don't know how she does it, but she does!
A great grass-roots nonprofit. What Cathy does with so little is amazing, and the care she shows for not just the JERAS animals but all creatures who come her way is inspiring. I wish I could do more to support this great project.
I've been a supporter of JERAS for well over a year and Cathy's commitment to the animals in her care is a constant source of amazement to me. In spite of her own physical trials, her unstinting dedication to the animals in her care is inspiring. Not content to ensure a long and well cared for life for her current charges, Cathy always has "an ear to the ground" and seems to find the most needy creatures just at a critical juncture in their lives. That they find their way to her kind and loving ministrations is one of life's wonders and makes me sure she was put here on earth with a great, if humble purpose, that she is fulfilling more than could be imagined. If we believe that making life better, one small increment at a time, is a goal worth striving for, then Cathy exemplifies the essence of that belief and the world is a much better place for it. cm
Thank you so much!

There is something special about this place. The family of animals that live there and those who stop by everyday or once in a while are always welcome....Everyone knows that they can trust Catherine to care for their everyday needs and their special needs....you can stop by via Face Book anytime, and watch a video of any number of family members enjoying their lives, doing what they do, watching the progress of their lives as Catherine helps with their special needs, or just a glimpse into a life unlike your own...I have never been around horses or burros so I watch a lot, it is a small slice of heaven for me...so my suggestion is that you go and visit this wonderful place and support the great work that is done at JERAS.
Journey's End Ranch Animal Sanctuary is in my opinion the Best Animal Sanctuary on the planet. The Director, Catherine Ritlaw, takes care of over 25 animals all day long, all by herself, never complains, feeds, waters, trims hooves, builds shelters, day after day . She is truly an inspiration to all the rest of us who are trying to help animals. She is an Honest person and always just sticks to her job , rain or shine , day after day ~ year after year. If I was an animal who needed rescuing, I would want to go to Journey's End Ranch Animal Sanctuary. Most of her rescued animals truly were at the End of Their Journey, and would have died if they had not been rescued by Catherine Ritlaw, Director of Journey's End Ranch Animal Sanctuary.
Journey's End Ranch has helped our local boy Poco! They do a great job with their burros, horses and all!! So glad they are there to give all their critters the care and love they need!!
I first heard about Journeys End Animal Sanctuary when Poco the burro was caught by BLM and taken there. I've been following his story and those of the other animals living there for about a year. It's obvious these animals are loved and cared for. Very lucky animals indeed.
Although I have not personally had the pleasure of meeting Cathy and her wonderful four legged animals - I read her newsletter faithfully, and enjoy every video she takes of her babies out at Journey's End Ranch Animal Sanctuary. I am planning on visiting her in the next couple of months as she is local.

365 days a year Journey's End Ranch looks after many horses and burros, and two sheep to make sure they are well cared for! One woman does this, and even though she suffers ill health, she some how manages to see to all their needs!
