The folks at Heartbeat of Lima do a wonderful job making you feel welcome, finding out what your needs are, and helping you to find the answers and resources that you need. I especially appreciate the "Hand Up" philosophy they offer rather than just a "Hand Out." They have the friendliest staff and volunteers anywhere!
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
talking to college volunteers at Heartbeat of Lima.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
provide a rent free space with laundry services possible.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of Heartbeat of Lima
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
from many generations, friendly and knowledgeable.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
provide better services for its clients by alleviating the focus of fund raising for rent and utilities and by having greater space and supplies for the growing number of clients.
Ways to make it better...
I knew that Heartbeat of Lima had the finances to address young women's needs without focusing on fundraising for things like rent and utilities.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
financial burdens, providing for increasing numbers of clients without a steady, reliable income to do it.
One thing I'd also say is that...
Heartbeat of Lima does remarkable things with every resource they have!
