Guilderhaven is one of the best volunteer groups that I have ever dealt with. Guilderhaven first helped us many years ago with numerous barn cats that we were caring for at a local equine facility. They helped with medical expenses many times when these cats needed veterinary care. When that facility closed, they were instrumental in helping catch many of these feral cats and rehome them. Sue Green, one of the board members, even came out with us late at night to assist in our efforts to catch all the cats! Guilderhaven is an all volunteer organization that truly cares about the animals. My husband and I continue to support Guilderhaven and the important work they do.
Love that they came to a birthday party and promoted animals lives. They have also been great with group visits leaving our kids with great memories and knowledge
Guilderhaven not only saved my dogs life, but my sanity as well as restored my faith in humanity! Sue is the most caring kind hearted soul. She took immediate action when my poor pup needed an emergency surgery I couldn't afford. Everyone else told me I needed to put him down because of the vet bills in our future. Not Sue! She connected me with her phenomenal Veterinary team and told me she would help support us however the organization could! She was honest and very upfront with expectations and advice. I couldn't possibly put into words what all of this meant to me during a very difficult time. I have since done everything I can to help support guilderhaven because I was blessed with first hand experience of the kind of love and support they offer not only the animals but the people that love them and are in need. There is no more genuine, authentic, compassionate or caring organization out there for our fuzzy family! Thank you Sue and all of Guilderhaven supporters! I can't imagine our community without you!
Guilderhaven provides a very valuable service to the community through low-cost spaying/neutering cats.
My mother loves her cat. Her cat provides her unconditional love and companionship. However, she lives on a very limited income. In 2015, Guilderhaven facilitated the spay/neuter of 561 cats so that those like my mother can have a pet responsibly.
It is such a great organization that provides a wonderful service to our community!
Guilderhaven came through for me when I needed help for my beloved cat,if it wasnt for Guilderhaven she would not be with me today.
I have been a board member, volunteer, and grant writer for Guilderhaven, inc. I got involved and continue to stay involved with this non-profit because of all the good they do for the animal community. They have facilitated the spay/neuter of many cats and dogs through the years as well as provide food for animals that are in need as well as medical intervention. In addition to companion animals Guilderhaven, inc., with the help of our wildlife rehabilitator, has helped wildlife as well.
I have known the people at Guilderhaven, Inc. for many years. They work tirelessly for the unfortunate animals. I have used them to get one dog spayed and one dog neutered, preventing unwanted litters for a family. I am now going to reach out to them for help with a mother cat that has had four kittens at my home. The mother is no more than a kitten herself, and is feral, so the entire family will have to be trapped. They all will need shots and be spayed and neutered. I live in the country, and am finding unwanted cats all the time. I am in greyhound rescue, so I know what it takes to re-home an animal. I also work with a local horse rescue organization. The job of caring for animals unfortunate enough to find themselves needing help is huge. To keep on going the way Guilderhaven, Inc. has, makes an enormous difference.
Greyhounds As Companions, Inc.
I have found Guilderhaven, Inc. to be a valuable resource for Greyhounds As Companions, Inc. They have found donated dog food for us, as well as many other products, bedding, supplements, medications, etc., and donated them to us. Sue Green is also working on a way for my granddaughter to get her two dogs spayed and neutered later this month. I know if I ask Guilderhaven for help, its always there.
My Police Department received a call for an injured fawn, stuck in a fenced in area. The fawn wasn't moving at all. I went in to get him and then brought him to the Emergency Vet. They weren't having much luck with the fawn and he was transferred to Guilderhaven. Within 2 hours, the little guy was up and moving around. Thank you Guilderhaven!!! The picture below is what he looked like on the way to the Vet.
This is a great non-profit with volunteers who really care about the health and welfare of animals. We adopted a dog through them. He had been abandoned and they took care of him for months until we adopted him and remained a resource for us as we worked through initial separation anxiety issues. Excellent group!
Wow, I can't say enough good things about Guilderhaven. I adopted a dog from them about 14 years ago. He was two at the time and sadly he was just put to sleep recently at the age of 16! Guilderhaven had him in their shelter...the volunteers walked him, had bake and garage sales and fundraisers to raise money to continue to help dogs like ours, and cats as well. They are a great group of people with such caring hearts.
I have contacted Sue Green and Guilderhaven on many occasions to help me with stray or injured cats or dogs in my neighborhood. Each time Sue directed me as to where to take the animal to be examined, tested, treated, and spayed or neutered.
Sue has also gone out of her way to help me locate a lost animal and get it safely back home.
Georgia also helped me get the word out about a kitty needing a home by taking photos and putting an article in "Our Towne Guilderland" brochure.
Guilderhaven is an AMAZING organization and does everything possible to assist animals in need and to help the community.
