I've known Michael and Maria for 23 years. Their love for Newark is unparalleled. They sacrificially give of themselves because of their deep love for Jesus Christ and the people of Newark.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

ministering to youth in Newark and seeing them grow to be productive adults.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

add $1,000,000 to their bank account and allow them to serve even more Newark youth!

Michael and Maria Westbrook, the heads of Greater Life, Inc. are the real thing: they care about youth with a passion. I have met with and talked to both the youth who have gone through the program plus the community leaders who rely on GL for technical support and they all express joy and appreciation for GL's commitment to them and to Newark's South Ward. I recommend them completely.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Outcomes: improved academic performance including higher state test pass rates amongst participants, graduation rates, and college enrollment; student community involvement; decreased criminal justice involvement; and higher rates of parental involvement.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

I attended their camping summer program and was thoroughly engaged.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

...all fans of GL and when they spoke about what it needed to do to serve the youth better, most of their suggestions were only possible with increased funding.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

A ten million dollar gift at GL would be used well: they would buy the property next door, open a youth-run local business in the spirit of social entrepreneurship, create a reserve fund and an endowment that would be replenished thru board policies.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every week
