Job Training, Human Services
2610 Kilihau St Honolulu HI 96819 USA
Goodwill Industries of Hawaii has provided training, job placement, and support services to people with barriers to employment since 1959. In FY 2006, Goodwill served more than 8,000 people through its 26 different workforce development programs and helped 1,699 people find employment in our community. Now these individuals, who would otherwise be dependent on government assistance or community services, are attaining the self-sufficiency, dignity and confidence that work and a paycheck brings. Goodwill's workforce development programs service people with barriers to employment. These barriers are wide in range and include a variety of disabilities, such as developmental, physical or emotional disabilities, emotional disorders, or mental illness. Some people have significant and/or multiple disabilities. Other people served through Goodwill's programs have economic or vocational barriers such as at-risk youth, welfare dependency, lack of work experience, illiteracy, having been incarcerated, or have been displaced from other companies.
