Mission: Carol Ray, whose desire was to feed the hungry founded gateway Community Outreach in 1995. The program got started on 2 cans of corn and now has grown to feed over thousands of families each year. Gateway has a staff of 5 and a volunteer base of 150 people who each week provides food baskets and case management to needy families. Gateway also provides financial assistance to families in crisis. Our purpose is to prevent homelessness not provide a band-aid.

We are to be responsible to Jesus' call to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, house the homeless, visit the sick and those in prison, care for the widows and orphans, be willing to be persecuted for righteousness sake, and act our the great commission. To involve community and church in specific mission through volunteer projects, in-kind donations, cash contributions, and overall stewardship of time and talent in various activities of GCO. To identify and develop specific programs which may not otherwise be possible through other public and private funding sources. To intentionally maintain and develop supportive systems for people in recovery, participants in twelve step programs, and for individuals and family members who are directly affected by addictions, through spiritual ministry and practical support systems. To ensure that all persons are treated as precious children of God, who will be accorded nurture and care with dignity and respect.
