They are providing important and valuable work and providing education to the community by advocating with wolf dogs needs and lifestyles, also giving them shelter that provides these needs.
I love how they care so much for the wolves. Full moon farm is an amazing place! God bless them and all the good that they do!
We frequently visited Full Moon Farms for howl-ins and really enjoyed the facility, the wolf-dogs and their caretakers. Full Moon Farms is run with a lot of love and dedication by Nancy LaPorta. She adores these dogs and it shows in every way. We look forward to the day when howl-ins can occur again and we can come be a part of a special celebration. Picture is of me with the previous Ambassadog, River. He was such a gentle, loving soul.
They are some of the most amazing people, they work so hard to educate the public about wolfdogs, and provide sanctuary for those abused and abandoned wolfdogs. They strive to provide the best care possible for all the resident dogs and worn on adopting out the adoptable dogs to well knowledgeable and safe homes.
Full moon farm is a wonderful place for wolf dog rescue and educating the public about these often misunderstood (and misrepresented) animals. I’ve learned so much from them I’d have otherwise not known and it’s helped me inform others as well. I love volunteering with them and attending their howl ins!
They saved a dog that local folks were going to kill because it killed someone’s chickens. Went above and beyond to make sure she got into a safe home where they knew how to work with her.
We met Nancy when she helped up find a house in 2004. She introduced us to her mission with the wolf dogs. Her passion made me want to volunteer. She truly cares about animals, and helping all wolf dogs. She travels far away to help poor animals in need.
This place is amazing! Visited several times with my grandson…beautiful wolf dogs and staff is so educated and share their knowledge while touring entire property. Also property is so tranquil…serene… with the relaxing howling.. WE LOVE THIS PLACE… Appreciate them being there for us to visit and see all their rescuing and doing all that they do!
❤️
I had the opportunity to visit Full Noon farm in 2021. I was extremely impressed with there facilities there staff and there commitment to the well being of all the Wolfers. I really can’t say enough or describe the love and work they put into these animals but I would recommend them to anyone who wants to learn more or needs support.
I had the pleasure of meeting these beautiful, intriguing creatures. Each one has their own unique personality. I was there as a volunteer and Ms. Nancy took the time to talk about each one there. I am so excited to go back
Full Moon is WONDERFUL! The people there have full knowledge of the animals and you can tell they are well taken care of by them as well. All the dogs look very healthy and are very good with being around people and the public. These babies are getting the attention and love they need. Donate to them today to help keep them just as well maintained!
The dogs are very well cared for and you can tell the people running it are passionate about what they do.
Everyone at Full Moon do a terrific job of making sure the fur babies are loved and given the best care possible.
I've watched new ones come into the shelter shying away from human contact, but with the staff's patience and love they begin to thrive and interact.
Full Moon Farm is an amazing place!
When my daddy died I was devastated. His last wish was to let his wolf dog gage live the rest of his life happy qnd not to be put down. Nancy qnd her crew qt full moon farm made that happen. They loved Gage like they have knew him all his life. Unfortunately gages health declined and he passed away but nancy sent me his ashes, he is back home THANK YOU SOOO MUCH IM FOREVER GREATFUL
What a wonderful organization this is. They put the welfare of the animals first and foremost. Knowing the love and hard work they put into caring for these beautiful creatures, makes it impossible to not rate them a 5 star nonprofit. They go far above and beyond.
Full Moon Farms...words can't even begin to describe how special this place is. They help wolf dogs that, to no fault if their own, thrive and have a life when people have obtained them and cannot appropriately give them what they need. Unfortunately people think is cool to breed wolf dogs, but do not; understand the needs of them, do it illegally, or abandon them.
Full Moon Farms is an excellent non-profit!
These people are amazing! What they do with the wolfdogs is unsurpassed. Not only do they house and feed them, they interact with them and give them lots of loving. If I was rich, I would give them all of my money and be broke. They are angels.
This is an amazing cause! Not many people think about what it will be like taking care of an adult wolf dog when they get it as a puppy. These beautiful animals need tons of space (preferably outdoors) and a special diet that most people can’t provide. Without this organization, these sweet animals would likely be killed by hunters who mistake them for coyotes or euthanized by areas that don’t allow these as pets. You can tell all of the wolf dogs are HAPPY and HEALTHY. You couldn’t ask more of a rescue.
These people are the example we should all set when in rescue. In fact, I now have a 501c3 Wolfdog rescue and I am setting my standards based on FMF! When I adopted Theran from them 2 years ago, the owner, Nancy, drove 7 hours each way with her key volunteer, to bring him to me. She wanted to make sure I had proper fencing, a good home, experience and that he would get along with my other dog. She was prepared to bring Theran back to FMF if anything wasn’t right. That commitment to detail and desire to see it with her own eyes has impressed me ever sense.
I have no first hand experience with the Wolfdogs but I know the owner/manager. She is dedicated to the animals and the farm and has been for many years! They always post photos of the wolfdogs and activities going on and the animals seem extremely well taken care of.
Love their dedication to their wolf dogs. They are super resourceful and knowledgeable. Very Impressed!
This is a wonderful organization. Nancy and her family, fur and human, go above and beyond with what they do. They are awesome!
I love Full Moon Farm. They provide a good home to wolf dogs, giving them ample room and good shelter as well as fun enrichment activities. I've toured the facility and seen the animals and their caregivers several times and am always reminded of the good my donations do for these lovely creatures.
I've been with Nancy from near it's inception . Nancy has never faulted from her path . She has endured everything from near poverty to Liars , Cheats. Thieves and Cancer . She has kept her ethics , honor. respect and Heart thru it all . Her equal treatment and love for each and every animal regardless of breed mix , content , age or physical stature . She has saved the lives of HUNDREDS of Animals and unselfishly donated many Years of her life to this sole purpose. I Love and Respect , Nancy LaPorta and FULL MOON FARM❤ .
We took in 5 high breeds in our shelter in Michigan. The officials were going to euthanize them for just being what they were. We looked and looked for a place for the guys and girls to go. Nancy stepped up and took them to save their lives. We took them to Full Moon Farms and what a great place for these dogs/wolves. She takes great care of them and I learned a lot from her. I'm just happy they are safe and didn't loose their lives because of someone's stupidity.. Thank You to you and all your volinteers..
Nancy Kay LaPorta founded Full Moon Farm to provide a home for wolfdogs. I have visited Full Moon Farm several times when Nancy hosted Howl-Ins. It is in a beautiful setting in the North Carolina mountains. Nancy has rescued many wolfdogs, thereby saving their lives. She has driven many miles to rescue wolfdogs that would have been euthanized if not for her compassion. The wolfdogs at Full Moon Farm are well taken care of, well fed, and receive veterinary care.
This is one of the few places that provide appropriate habitat, food, and enrichment for wolf dogs. They are providing safety for over 60 wolf dogs.
The staff bring one of the wolf dogs to schools and events to educate the community about these wonderful animals.
Nancy Brown has dedicated her whole life to caring for these wolf hybrids.
We attended an open house at Full Moon farms. Nancy has dedicated her life to help these amazing wolf dogs finding homes for many of them. They are so well taken care of and loved. It was wonderful to see them and learn about them. Definitely worth a visit and donation.❤️
I love what they do for each and every wolfdog they look so healthy happy and loved .very well cared for.
I learned of Full Moon Farm not long after acquiring a wolfdog puppy for the first time. He was found on Craig’s list from a breeder. Pup was misrepresented as far as content and even in the advertising. It was only after I started going to the fundraisers that I was schooled on Wolfdogs. Nancy would teach as she walked to different enclosures with different dogs explaining the differences , their temperament and reasons why they ended up at her Sanctuary. Everything I was told previously by the breeder and other sources pretty much was not true. The picture in my head of what one looks like was totally wrong too. With the different mixes it was hard for me to tell and in some cases still is.
I’ve learned a lot and there’s still more to learn. Over the years going to her fundraisers and talking with Nancy we’ve become friends. Due to an issue with my ex, he ended up with my pup which will be 11 in November. I was heart broken. I started going back up to Full Moon Farms to try and learn more and be around the pups. I wanted another one. I would volunteer some with what I could do.
One of the pups that was able to be adopted had ended up coming back. Nancy offered me Phoenix. I started trying to earn his trust, Sitting in the enclosure very still with raw meat goodies , sweet talking and waiting on him to come to me for food. It took a while but Phoenix and I finally got acquainted. Of course there are requirements like fence height and such so I began fixing any deficiencies and upgrading my fencing and raising my fencing. June 19th 2022 Nancy and one of her board members Paulina transported him to my house. Phoenix is doing well and coming out of his shell some, as he was a neglect case. One day with discussions of taking him to walk near a water source, I went thru the motions with him to load up in the car and tether him in. He did great so I kept going with it. He’s learning to wind surf and loves it. I take him up to the farm to visit when I can. About once a week and help out with what I can help with.
Full Moon Farms and Nancy are very educational, truthful and with over 20 years experience of wolfdog rescue has made a difference for the wolfdogs she’s rescued and their quality of life. I am honored not only to be friends and volunteer some but also to be chosen to adopt one of her pups!
This is the best place to learn about the wolfdogs and to get educated on these beautiful creatures that are so misunderstood. I highly recommend this sanctuary it's a beautiful place to go. Very friendly staff and wolfdogs. I love this place.
I was honored to be invited and work by intuitively communicating and healing some of the wolfdogs in need. You go more than the extra mile for these beings and I thank you for that. Bless you !
My experience with Full Moon Farm was literally a life changing experience. After going through a pretty dark time in my life feeling unsettled from leaving my home in NYC, I looked into volunteering for Full Moon Farm. As a dog trainer and a student who was pursuing research in debunking myths of "scarier" dog breeds, I wanted to give back while I was in North Carolina. Nancy, Terri, Jen, & Paulina were so welcoming (especially to this city slicker!) and you can tell they pour their heart & souls into the sanctuary for the wolfdogs' welfare. Nancy also recommended books for me to check out (Calming Signals by Turid Rugaas is my fav) that I have also recommended to every single one of my dog training clients to this day. I got to know every single wolfdog and dog in the sanctuary by name, personalities, and even those that were extremely shy. Each one provided a magical, unique, and humbling experience. Fast forward to 2021, Nancy wrote my recommendation letter for the UPenn masters program for animal behavior & welfare in which I was accepted into for Fall 2021. Now back in NYC, I think back fondly of my experience hearing howls in the mountains, the wolfdogs who I hope to see again one day, and those that have passed recently of old age who will be in my heart forever. I am so thankful to be given a chance to volunteer at Full Moon Farm :)
We are so grateful to Full Moon Farm for rescuing our beloved Trusty Troodles (as part of a large rescue case). Nancy and her team of volunteers are incredible and dedicated to each and every one of their rescue woofers with their whole, entire hearts. We cannot imagine our life without our goofy girl and are forever grateful to FMF for bringing her into our lives!
One visit tells you all you need to know. Your very soul will feel the energy there and you'll be hooked.
Full Moon Farm is a magical place, any animal who winds up there will know love, security, enrichment and happiness. Nancy makes sure her rescues have all they need and then some.
Bless all who care for the animals at Full Moon Farm.
Nancy LaPorta is a rare and wonderful gem who with the help of her team provides an absolute haven for wolfdogs. Everyday Full Moon Farm makes a difference showering
these extraordinary animals with love, kindness and amazing care.
Why donate? Wolfdogs rely on humans 100% for their survival. At Full Moon Farm donations cover great food, much needed supplements, special needs, medical care, transport, spacious living spaces, enrichment activities, etc. all of which keeps them happy, healthy and safe.
Why volunteer? It’s an opportunity to be part of extraordinary mission and work alongside people who put their whole heart into each dog's care.
Things I love about FMF: Toy day, the excitement and antics are heartwarming and hilarious. And food buckets magically transform into a mailbox delivery system so even the most shy wolfdogs can join the fun retrieving toys lovingly left in their comfort zones.
Loki (the water dog) doing the side stroke in his pool.
The joy on Hercules' face as he plays the day away.
Flopsy's spirited adventures.
Sheba's sweet face.
The daily facebook posts.
All of the wolfdogs!
The unmatched dedication and devotion make Full Moon Farm the best and most amazing wolfdog sanctuary on the planet.
Any day is a great day to be a wolfdog's hero - - donate, sponsor, volunteer - - your soul will thank you.
I love Full Moon Farm to the moon and back!

I have been fortunate to share my life with 3 high content wolf dogs (89-96%), 2 females and one male. Thor, Bambi (my wife named her) & Cheyenne, or Chey for short. All eventually passed due to natural causes, Thor and Bambi (brother and sister) lived into the teens as did Chey. They had the run of our house and large yard and were never destructive. They travelled well in our big truck and were never a problwm to us or our neighbors. One funny incident. I went to pick my wife up at the Billings Airport and my guys were in the carpeted camper shell. The airport was on high alert and armed Security was checking everyone closely. When they got to me one of the guards arrogantly told me to open the back door of my camper shell and be quick about it. I laughed as I got out of my truck and went to the back. I suggested the guard just look through the side windows, but he insisted. I opened the half doir to the camper and stepped back. As he approached the door he looked up and saw 3 very large wolf dogs laying there and displaying their teeth. No movement, no growling, just showing all their teeth. He stumbled backward, fell down, dropped his rifle and scooted back on his butt a good 10 feet. 2 other guards were laughing at him so he got on his feet, recovered his rifle, told me to shut the camper door and waved me on to Arrivals.
I have been to Full Moon Farm and seen for myself the great love and care given to the animals they have rescued. Nancy leads her group of loyal volunteers in providing a safe and secure home for abused and neglected wolf dogs. It's around the clock, 365 days a year of hard work and dedication by people who are there simply because of their love for these animals. They have my utmost respect and gratitude.
They do great work with wolfdogs! We visited them pre-covid during one of their tour days. It was very informative and these beautiful animals were very well taken care of. We hope to go back soon!
I have adopted two wonderful dogs from FMF. The application process is very thorough and they do a fantastic job finding forever homes for the dogs in their care. For the animals they can't place, they offer a safe and caring environment for the dogs to live out their days with quality care and enrichment to keep them healthy and happy. I am so grateful for Nancy and her team!
I once volunteered with FMF. It’s a great organization….they really care for the welfare and wellbeing of all the wolf dogs in their care. It’s also a great place to volunteer.

FMF has a core set of volunteers who are dedicated to ensuring the residents receive the best care in terms of nutrition, physicality, medically, and mentally. The wolfdogs at FMF may not have had the best beginnings in life, but we make sure they feel loved and safe at the sanctuary. As a bonus, FMF's founder and owner, educates the public and her volunteers about wolfdogs and dispels the myths that surrounds wolfdogs.
What an amazing place! Full Moon Farm cares for some pretty amazing animals, and they are doing a fantastic job. Their "tenants" are well fed, well treated, well stimulated with activities and toys, and seem genuinely happy in their surroundings. Such an impressive organization.
And there is nothing quite like driving up to the farm, and hearing these beautiful animals howling their greetings.
I visited Full Moon Farms and had a wonderful experience. I was amazed at the knowledge the staff had and could also identify every K-9 on the property. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
During Katrina, my friend went to New Orleans to aid in animal rescue. He came upon a wolf dog that everyone said to just leave. Can’t deal with that now. Listening to his gut, he contacted Nancy at Full Moon Farm and she took in the wolf dog. Couldn’t begin to say enough nice things to thank this wonderful farm
I recently visited the Full Moon Farm wolfdog sanctuary in Black Mountain, NC and was completely blown away by the care these folks have for many unfortunate, beautiful wolfdogs. I am not able to adopt a wolfdog myself because I can't provide the special environment these dogs need, but I came away wishing I could. It's hard to believe people would work so hard for no monetary compensation, but this small crew does it. And many of these dogs would very likely be dead if it weren't for these compassionate souls. I very likely will end up volunteering out there myself, but I urge others who might be able to offer a home to these special dogs to check out Full Moon Farm. Many of the dogs are very loving and just need some space, appropriate fencing and shelter, and knowledgeable owners.
I love Wolfdogs & they love Wolfdogs! They do so much to help educate the public about Wolfdogs. They also do so much for the animals themselves. I send as much help as I can monthly, because I truly believe, the folks at Full Moon, LOVE each & everyone of the rescues they have at the farm and they do everything possible, to full fill their needs.
I volunteered one weekend while Full Moon Farms needed some building upgrades and general maintainence done throughout the compound. Not only was the director very friendly with everyone that showed up, the entirety of the operation came off as very well run and organized. I felt that everything we as volunteers had accomplished was well worth the considerable time and effort that was asked of us. The dogs are well taken care of, loved and provided for at Full Moon Farm.
Awesome rescue in Western North Carolina ! I have visited several times and taken family and friends there also. I have been a sponsor to several wolf dogs over the years and am currently a sponsor.
This place is awesome!! The tours and lecture on Wolves and Wolfdogs is something everyone should go and experience. They deserve our support and do a magnificent job of saving part of our history.
I became involved with Full Moon Farm, Inc., in 2010. I attended a Howl In and completely fell in love. I started volunteering and saw first hand the love, dedication and hard work that goes into this rescue. These animals are the "throw aways". Without this rescue, most would have nowhere to go and would be euthanized. This is not just a regular rescue either. The animals here often have more specific nutritional needs and/or medical needs, which increases the cost of their care. Nancy Brown works tirelessly to ensure their needs are met. This rescue is also an incredible educational resource -- teaching both adults and children about wolves and wolfdogs and the incredible misconceptions and myths that surround these majestic creatures. This place is my Heaven on Earth. It is a bright spot in a sometimes dim world. I am forever grateful that my path crossed that of Full Moon Farm, Inc. and Nancy Brown.
I moved to Black Mountain in 2018 and was looking for a place to volunteer. I never imagined that the time spent working with these amazing dogs would change my life. I am eternally grateful and proud to have the opportunity to love and be loved by these amazing animals. The love and care that each dog receives is a testament to the commitment made by Nancy Brown.
Nancy Laporte Brown and Fred Fulton of Fullmoonfarm have dedicated their lives to taking care of and rescuing wolf dogs. They make sure they are well taken care of and loved. They are valued throughout the wolf dog community nationwide for their expertise and caring. This is the best shelter I have ever had the privilege to volunteer for.
Fantastic organization. Nancy and the volunteers do great work and have rescued so many beautiful animals and they are well cared for and very spoiled and so loved. Wolfdogs that had no hope of surviving are now thriving with so much love and care. Please support Full Moon Farm so Nancy can continue doing great work saving the wolfdogs.
Nancy Brown owner of Full Moon Farm is the most loving person the Wolfdogs could possibly have. Her tireless care and attention to these incredible animals has gained the respect of our entire Black Mountain NC community. Having spent quite a bit of time at the farm I’ve learned these Hybrid Wolves are incredibly special and a true value to all that love nature and it’s special members!! John R
Full Moon Farm gave me a deeper understanding of wolfdogs and how "myth" understood they are. It is a wonderful place where rescues can live out their life in peace. Nancy has dedicated her life to FMF and the care of the animals there. People should consider donating because these animals fall through the cracks, they are not recognized as dogs nor wolves, so they don't get funding from the big orgs to stay afloat, they depend on donations from the public. If you are in Black Mountain please consider visiting, it will be good for the heart and soul.

If you could pick one sanctuary to support and donate to, let it be FMF.
They take in all wolfdogs no matter the content, and give them a forever home in the tranquil mountains of North Carolina.
The owners and volunteers are dedicated to the health and well being of the animals in their care. The animals come first. There are also no paid staff so all of you donation goes directly to the animals.
I love this place and if ever visit you will to.
In this life, I'll probably never meet the people of Full MoonFarm, because I live far away (France). But I do know the names and the eyes of their "protégés". And I'm also an auntie for a shy, beautiful, black girl who is so lucky to be here !
If I could only pick one non profit to donate to Full Moon Farm Wolfdog Sanctuary would be it. Nancy LaPorta Brown and her amazing volunteers are saving a piece of the world that others have tried to destroy. She has devoted her life to saving these wolfdogs and does a fantastic job of taking care of all the animals. But she doesn't stop there! She also devotes a lot of time to teaching about Wolfdogs. The tours she conducts during her Howl Ins are amazing!
They went above and beyond to assist in vet care for my personal animals, put us up for the night and allowed us to bounce ideas off them for helping others with proper ownership.
This is an amazing non profit organization and the people who run it at phenomenal! I contacted them on my 21st birthday when looking for a fun activity to do and they got back to me immediately and allowed me to come in for a tour. I really enjoyed getting to talk to the owners and meet the dogs. Each one had a unique amazing personality and you could see the passion and care given to the animals by the staff. The owner (in photo) had an indescribable connection with each dog and provided an experience I will never forget.
I've been volunteering at Full Moon Farm Wolf Dog Sanctuary for over a year now. Nancy, who is the owner, is so dedicated to the preservation of these amazing animals. She has traveled across country to rescue animals in need of shelter. She puts her heart and soul in assuring these animal's have the highest quality of life they can possibly have and is also very active in searching for permanent homes for them. She's is amazing and I am so thankful for her, because without her ,so many beautiful animals would be needlessly euthanized. I thank God for her everyday and ask his blessing upon her to continue the marvelous work she does!
I am an intern at Full Moon Farm. Nancy Brown has put her heart and soul into the farm and it shows. She cares for her animals deeply and they love her back. This is the 3rd time that I have stayed on the property and I will come back again.
FMF is a team of passionate people devoted to the well being of one of the most misunderstood breeds of dogs, wolfdogs. Whether your volunteering, donating, or adopting, know that you are supporting one of the few places of refuge for these amazing animals.
This facility has been nothing but phenomenal! They are very informative and helpful and deserve nothing but the best. We love volunteering there and so does my daughter. All of their animals are well loved and taken care of too.

The most passionate rescue team I’ve ever had the pleasure of volunteering with! Nancy and everyone at Full Moon Farm cares so deeply for these animals, it’s palpable and contagious. The knowledge I’ve learned from Nancy about wolfdogs and animal rescue is something I will continue to cherish. Nancy is always ready to help spread knowledge and education about these magnificent creatures, and the education aspect is key! I volunteer there on occasion, and not nearly as much as I would love to. It’s a significantly powerful place to spend a day, helping to care for the wolfdogs. This sanctuary/rescue is the real deal, if there ever were one.
This place is amazing. They go above and beyond for these animals. I can name so many times they are stepped up to help when needed.
Thank God for such an amazing place and such caring people . They truly have a heart for these amazing animals
This organization is led by an amazing, caring, knowledgeable woman who’s only interest is in rescuing Wolfdogs. She has been doing this for decades and if it wasn’t for her so many of these beautiful creatures wouldn’t be on this earth right now. The animals are loved, fed and all veterinary needs are met. And all of this is done with donations from caring people.
Full Moon Farm is amazing. I started volunteering there 3 years ago and the only thing that made me halt was school. They teach you so much about wolfdogs and how different they are but also similar to dogs. And the people there are amazing! Some of the most kind hearted rescue folks you will ever meet! Volunteering was my grounding time, and the location is absolutely beautiful. They do everything they can to help the worst cases with very little. Highly recommend!
I have visited Full Moon Farm several times over the past few years to volunteer and attend events. Many of the animals that I have met at the Farm have left a lasting impression on my heart. Nancy and her team of volunteers are both dedicated and inspiring, they work tirelessly to ensure that each animal receives the special love and care that they need. The monthly Howl In events provide a unique educational opportunity for people to learn more about these amazing animals. Please consider supporting this very deserving organization.
They have an amazing heart for these animals and will fight for them with everything they have. One of the best sanctuaries in the US!
Great group of people doing great work for misrepresented animals

I came here for my first Pawty about 4 years ago now. It felt like coming home, it is hard to describe in words what FMF is like. I feel that Nancy Brown has put her life and soul into this place, and she has. I believe in the Farm and its mission so much that I am now an on-site volunteer.
Full Moon Farm never ceases to amaze me with their care and compassion of all the wolfdogs there. Their knowledge of the breed and willingness to educate the surrounding community is excellent.
I've been to events at this facility three years in a row, the love and dedication to these animals is so very obvious ❤

Full Moon Farm is a beautiful wolfdog rescue in Black Mountain NC. They take in wolfdogs regardless of content, unlike many wolfdog rescues. The volunteers work tirelessly to make sure all the animals are well taken care of. Rescue is often a thankless job when it comes to people. The love the animals show back to the volunteers makes up for that though. I live in Pennsylvania but still volunteer at least once a year for a week, plus run transports if needed. Great place to support!

I first visited Full Moon Farm in 2015 when my daughter volunteered for a week for her senior project. Nancy LaPorta Brown and all the volunteers work tirelessly to care for all the wolfdogs at the sanctuary. As someone who has been on the bod of several wolfdog organizations I have visited many wolfdog rescues and sanctuaries. Full Moon Farm is tops in personal care of each animal. Nancy also takes in any wolfdog that she has space for. She does not turn away the lower content animals that sometimes get overlooked or turned down by other rescues.
I’ve been to Full Moon Farm several times in the past few years and when it’s time to go, it’s tough because of the wonderful experiences I’ve gained, the animals that all have interesting personalities, and the loving and caring staff that help make a difference for not only the animals but to the general public as well. I truly love going there to help out, to learn and make a difference for these animals!
I have known of Full Moon Farm for over a decade now. Over the years I have been there countless times and I am honored to call the the founder/president one of my dearest friends. It has only gotten better and better over the years. I can’t say enough good things about the farm, the volunteers, and the board. The animals that FMF has saved truly found sanctuary in this wonderful haven for wolfdogs.

A wonderful place filled with amazing animals and dedicated volunteers that also provides a unique educational opportunity. Each time I visit Full Moon Farm I am impressed by the love and commitment shown by Nancy and her volunteers for these unique animals. Many of the animals were abused, abandoned, or simply had nowhere else to go, Full Moon Farm provides a safe and loving forever home where they can receive excellent care and live in the peace and sanctuary of the mountains. Many of these animals and their stories have touched my heart, please consider showing your support by visiting or donating to this truly deserving organization!

We made our first visit to Full Moon Farm Sanctuary earlier this year, meeting the beautiful animals and seeing the love and dedication of Nancy and her group of volunteers is an experience we will not forget. This is a great organization that does so much good for unwanted, abused, or abandoned wolfdogs and misrepresented dogs. Nancy Brown is a wonderful, caring individual who truly puts her heart and soul into helping the animals. The animals were all were all loved, respected, and well cared for at their forever home. We were touched by their stories, their resilient spirits, and their beautiful howls, as well as the love, strength, and dedication shown by Nancy herself. I will not forget my experience and hope to visit again soon. Please consider donating to this wonderful organization and help support these beautiful animals.
I have been volunteering at Full Moon Farm since 2016. All at the farm (FMF) are full of compassion for the animals. The care given to these animals is the best possible. We specialize in the animals that are abused, refused and neglected. Being a sanctuary FMF offers these animals a place to live out their lives in peace and safety. Many of the animals are seniors and all of the volunteer staff help to make their days comfortable and complete, walking those that can be and interacting with those can be interacted with while respecting those that prefer to just be cared for. This what my vision of a rescue has always been.I volunteer and donate to Full Moon Farm and will continue to. I am honored to work with Nancy and the staff of volunteers at Full Moon Farm Wolfdog Rescue and Sanctuary.
My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Full moon farm this past weekend and It was an amazing experience. The wolf dogs are so beautiful and all the volunteers are friendly you can tell they really love these wolf dogs. I cant wait to go back and hear them howl!
I have been a volunteer at Full Moon Farm for 7 years and it always amazes me that they are able to do so much and save so many lives on such a small budget. This rescue is entirely volunteer-based and has no paid staff so every penny that is donated goes directly to the welfare of the animals.
My family and I went to the June howl-in this year and we’ve been obsessed with this place since then. I can honestly say I’ve never met a person more passionate about what they do then Ms. Nancy. We’ve learned so much from her and I’m very honored to call her my friend now. Full Moon Farm is so much more then a sanctuary, it is a HOME, and not just to it’s residents but to it’s volunteers, it’s visitors, and it’s supporters. I would highly recommend visiting during the howl-in and bringing any of their wishlist items as they run solely on donations!
One of the most amazing rescues out there! They operate on donations only and have no paid staff. Their dedicated volunteers, including Founder Nancy Brown, care for approximately 70 abused and neglected wolfdogs and their love for these animals (and the love from the animals in return) shines through!

Nancy is truly a amazing person . She stands firmly in a cause she believes in she and the volunteers put in endless hours and time and hours to the unspoken voices of the wolf and the wolfdogs. She has helped mankind to understand these beautiful animals and have them along life with uncondional love and care. I believe Nancy is truly a gift from God and a gift to alit of people as she works with very little support to maintain the facility but if you ever see Nancy you would see a smile on her face at all times as she s passion and a love of the work she does I am very blessed to have met and seen her facility and the to gel the love on that mountain
Having worked closely with Full Moon Farm for many years, I can say without a doubt that this is a profound and amazing Sanctuary. Nancy Brown works harder than anyone I’ve ever met and will go to the ends of the earth for the animals in her care. The struggles and hardships that befall an animal sanctuary are numerous and ongoing. The operating costs are higher than most people imagine, food, vet bills, fencing, grounds maintenance and on…. even with non-paid volunteers. Nancy loves her animals and handles this place like a pro. If you can’t experience a magical trip personally, a donation is always worthy of a howl.
We visited Full Moon for the first time on August 5th and really enjoyed it! The owner was very informative & disproved many myths on wolves & wolf dogs. We enjoyed taking the tour and hearing each animal's story & how they came to be a resident at the sanctuary. We were surprised to hear how some of the wolfdogs had been pets in loving homes & due to the laws where they lived now have to live out their lives in a fenced home or be euthanized. Thank goodness for Full Moon for giving them a home.
We would recommend visiting Full Moon for one of their monthly Howl Ins & donating or sponsoring a wolfdog. We are now in the process of choosing which one we want to sponsor!
This place rocks! Nancy and her volunteers not only save these wonderful animals but they educate the public about wolfdogs! Nancy has dedicated her life to making sure that the wolfdogs are given a chance traveling all over this country to save them.
Full Moon Farm is an amazing rescue. Wolfdog rescue often lacks the ability to adopt animals, due to the nature of the dogs. For them to continue onward and make it all work is amazing. I look up to them all.
I was introduced officially to Full Moon Farm in the early spring of 2016. Since then I have become utterly obsessed with this wonderful organization. Full Moon Farm is animal rescue done right. Animals have spacious enclosures, top of the line food, 24/7 care, and the love of all who are lucky to meet them.
I was surprised at how the founder and the volunteers are so dedicated to every animal 100% of the time. It was wonderful to see, coming from a background of mass marketed animal rescue, that the animals in Full Moon Farm's care receive above what most animals in shelters across the U.S. receive. That dedication, love, and unwavering commitment to making every minute about the animals wowed me. Their events are fun, friendly, and educational. The gift shop on site has excellent merchandise that will last for years. While the sanctuary is removed from the beaten path, making the drive is well worth it.
I love Full Moon Farm, every person there from Nancy all the way down to the newest volunteer puts their heart and soul into saving and caring for the unwanted, abused and abandoned animals that find their way to the farm. I have the highest respect for Nancy and all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears she has put into building and maintaining such a wonderful sanctuary!
I've known about Full Moon Farm for about 10 years now. I've made several visits there and helped with rescue and transport of several of the animals. There isn't a more dedicated team of people supporting Full Moon Farm and their mission.
I have followed Nancy and Full Moon Farm for a number of years online. I am completely in awe of Nancy's strength of character in what she does for these animals and the adversities she has to overcome to do what she does. She and the volunteers do a wonderful job educating about and taking in and providing love and care for unwanted/in danger wolfdogs.
Until about 5 years ago I never knew about this place but once I do I have fallen in love with not only the animamls but the people as well, this is more than just a non-profit rescue this is a FAMILY. This is what is should be all about, saving lives all while helping to educate the people who dont know as well as some who do. The younger generations like myself can learn ALOT from these peopl who put their heart, soul, sweat and blood into trying to save these special animals. There is just not enough good I could say about this place and the people connected to it you just have to experience it for yourself and once you do you will want to continue to do so.
I was fortunate enough to meet Nancy in an online forum and she helped me better understand my wolfdog's behavior and how to tell a wolfy looking dog apart from an actual wolfdog. Visiting the farm and learning about the various inhabitants gave me a depth of understanding that resonates with me to this day.
I appreciate her unwavering devotion to their well-being, but also her understanding of when it becomes more merciful to bring peace to a life that was tortured beyond the animal's ability to heal.
She loves, believes, and gives every ounce of effort to this sanctuary, and when a resident crosses the bridge she grieves for them because they're family.
She drives 1000's of miles, spends untold hours educating, and even though she doesn't put up with drama, she never fails to send uplifting messages that keep her humble and in awe of the world around us.
You'd be hard pressed to find an overall better nonprofit organization dedicated to the standards that all organizations should be held accountable to.

I had the thrill of living on the farm and volunteering. The work is hard and long hours but when you are done at the end of the day your soul is happy. The wolfers are safe, fed and happy. Their joint howling is an amazing, unexplainable feeling. Nancy's dedication is unwaivering.
Full Moon Farm Wolfdog Sanctuary is an amazing place - staffed by wonderful people who care for the wolfdogs. Nancy LaPorta Brown works tirelessly yet has the time and grace to inform everyone about the wolfdogs she rescues and about wolfdogs in general. My daughter and husband have been three times and my daughtter is spending her 19th birthday celebration by bringing friends to the Howl In to volunteer ! Nancy has been so kind to my daughter Katie even helping her with a research paper and my daughters essay to get into Virginia Wesleyan was based on Nancy & Full Moon Farm. We donate monthly for the dogs we sponsor and send food and participate in the fundraisers. We have decals on the car and spread the word about this wonderful place and the wonderful people, Donna Sharon Sarah John & Jennifer we have come to know because of the sanctuary. We found Nancy and Full Moon Farm accidently by watching a TV show she was featured in.. she impacted us enough to find her in NC. Visit Full Moon Farm and see the beautiful animals who have found a forever home with Nancy when no one else wanted them. Donate monthly, donate once, send food or volunteer your time, you will not be disappointed!

My experience with Full Moon Farm began over a year ago when I located the sanctuary on the internet while doing some research. While I was reviewing information about the sanctuary I noticed they'd be hosting an event while I was in the area and I decided to attend. It was a great event, I learned a great deal of information about the animals and the organization. During that visit I made a personal choice to sponsor one of the animals and kept in touch with the volunteers who run the facility. I visited the sanctuary again on several other occasions months later and discussed possible ways to volunteer and help them out even though I wasn't local. The group is such a great group of people and they work so hard and are so selfless to give the way they do to take care of the animals all on a volunteer basis, I just felt I needed to do what I could to help them out any way possible. I started volunteering helping to raise funds and find opportunities for the sanctuary that are available in an attempt to make things easier for the volunteers taking care of the animals at the sanctuary. Later I was asked to be a Board Member and agreed to accept the responsibility and to be part of the organization in that manner. I couldn't ask for a better group of individuals to work with and have not seen such selfless and giving attitudes from one group of people in a very long time. I commend each volunteer for their time and energy invested in caring for and taking care of those sweet animals that are so deserving of caring hands. I encourage anyone to visit and get involved with this group and these animals.
