During this difficult year as a foster family, I cannot say enough wonderful things about Foster Source. From providing training to respite to meals to a weighted blanket, they have helped my family in at least a dozen ways. Foster parenting is harder than I possibly could have imagined, but Foster Source has given us the support that we desperately needed to get through the hard days - and now things are so much better!!

I was a non-certified kinship caregiver for 5 years with very little support. I am so grateful to Foster Source for now serve kin. I have felt more supported than ever before. This summer, Foster Source put together over 100 food boxes full of basic pantry items (canned veggies, rice, pancake mix/syrup, pasta/sauce, etc. ) and handed them out to caseworkers and families across Colorado. That's amazing!!
Foster Source provides so much needed support to foster and kinship parents that often gets overlooked elsewhere. The education piece itself is an immense vital asset. And the other areas of support provided here is helping our families thrive and continue to be successful foster and kinship parents.
Foster Source is the best possible resource for foster families. Better than what the county provides, your CPA, anybody. They work with those groups, and tons of others, which is part of their strength, they know everybody so can connect a parent with anything they need. But they're also foster parents themselves, so they know our problems and struggles better than anybody else. They will listen to us, when other people just say you're a saint and move on. Their support groups are the best I have ever been to, and their regular giveaways of items have helped us so much. Thank you Foster Source!

Unbelievably critical to foster parents. Provides free training to foster parents statewide, and offers this online as well which is essential with our schedules. Helps parents network for respite, sharing resources like carseats scooters furniture diapers. Collects donations from community and companies and delivers them to foster parents. I don't think my family could do foster care without them.
Fostering has its challenges but having the supports from Foster Source helps a lot. They help with respite requests, supply needs, peer support and unlimited trainings to help keep up with certification. They truly care about the children and the foster parent(s).

I donated all my baby stuff to Foster Source. They arranged volunteers to come pick up some of the items. One time I drove everything to their office so I could see the set up and it’s great! Foster Source came along at a critical time for child welfare systems in Colorado. As agencies made cuts to supportive services for foster families, Foster Source has more than filled in the gaps. From foster parent support groups, diapers, and freezer meals to mental health services provided virtually to families, Foster Source is truly a one stop shop for foster parent support in Colorado. Our agency made a wise decision when we decided to formally enter into a partnership with Renee, Brian and the rest of the Foster Source team. Our foster parents are more likely to continue fostering because of the encouragement and advocacy of the Foster Source heroes.

When we took two infants for an emergency placement Foster Source went above and beyond to help. They provided us with diapers wipes, a gift card for formula, car seats and a double stroller. They were a lifesaver I could not imagine what would have happened if we did not have them to support us.
We have also learned so much about the foster care system through the training they offer both online in person and on demand which is amazing for busy foster parent.
We have called and spoken to Renee several times she's very informative gives great emotional support and help in connecting us with the people we need when taking placements.
We've been in Foster here for 6 years have debated stepping out of the foster care system because of lack of support and if we had not been connected with Foster Source we would have stopped fostering several years ago. I cannot say enough about this organization the teams they have and how much this is changing me as a foster parent and giving me the ability to take more placements.
Foster Source sees the foster families and really shows up. They have set us up with a neighbor support program. They bring us a dinner every month. They also hold community events where we can get freezer meals, diapers, mattresses, bikes, luggage, sensory toys and best of all, smiles all around. They are truly a blessing to all those they touch!

Our (foster) family has been to several of the drive-thru events run by Foster Source! Foster source knows what us foster parents need before we even know! I never signed up to receive the free freezer meals before this weekend. Today when my daughter asked me what's for dinner instead of that sinking feeling in my stomach, I smiled and pulled out a tasty crockpot meal. 3 minutes later, dinner was taken care of! We love Foster Source they help us feel connected and valued. We miss the in person connections but even during the pandemic they have gotten creative and found ways to continue to support us safely. Foster Source has been there for us as we try to stay afloat as foster parents. We have been to several of their relevant and FREE trainings that include FREE childcare. We need 20 hours of trainings per year to remain certified as foster parents and we have 5 children, so this is an amazing resource. We also were able to take advantage of a special event they put on where foster parents can drop their children (biological, adopted, and foster) for 4 hours of FREE respite care. At pick-up, we were gifted 4 freezer meals and some clothing for our children. Foster parenting is isolating and tough, and Foster Source has helped us feel supported during the process.
Foster Source has helped our family several ways. Like Donating diapers to us . when you have 4 kiddos in diapers it is a huge help. When Ive needed quick clothes to clothe little ones who came to us with nothing. A year ago in September we took on a sibling group of 2. We already had 2 kiddos 2 and under and were about to take on an 18 month old and 9 month old. I wasnt sure how we were going to get around with 4 babies. Foster Source immediately jumped into action. Not only did they donate a weighted blanket for my 18 month old. They also found a way to donate a 4 seated stroller. The kindness and generosity of foster source helped us grow our forever family. We have now adopted all 4 of those babies . Foster Source helped a hard transition for some very traumatized babies a lot easier into our now forever family. Thank you foster Source your amazing!!!!

I am a foster/adoptive parent of children with medical and special needs. My licensure requires a certain number of training hours each year, but it's very difficult to get those training hours in person when most places will not provide child care for your medically fragile/special needs children.

Personally I can tell you that if you have a need for a child you are caring for and reach out to them they go above and beyond to help. If it's something that they have access to then they get it for you, if they don't have it and can't get it , they will direct you on who you can contact for help. Foster Source has been amazing! They have provided me with free diapers + wipes since my kiddo came in June, and it has been wonderful knowing I don’t have to worry about that.
We are truly grateful for Foster Source. The support they give foster parents is amazing. Personally, they provide training along with child care. And to not have to worry about child care is incredible. They have paid for a zoo membership, diapers and a weighted blanket. Somethings they have done for other foster parents: beds, dressers, food, and find respite. Respite is when foster parents go on vacation and need someone to take care of your foster kiddos. They not only deliver things to your house that has been donated for when you get home from the hospital with a newborn baby! They also do free trainings AND provide childcare which is huge for a single foster mom like me!

Foster Source has been amazing with reaching our needs as foster parents, educationally and with items we’ve needed. They respond quickly as possible and the service they’ve provided has always been kind and courteous.
Foster Source has been a great resource to us who are fostering/kinship care. The amount of classes they provide, for free, that cover a vast amount of topics that relate to being a foster parent, parenting classes, parenting classes for kids with medical needs, mental health classes. On top of all that, they provide free child care, so we can attend these classes with ease, and as a bonus, we get 2 hours, for each class we attend, that counts toward our annual foster care recertification. The amount of work they do outside of classes, helping with finding respite requests, items needed, clothes needed, you name it, they seem to find a way to do it. Foster Source and their team of volunteers are truly remarkable people.

I worked for a child placement agency (CPA) and Foster Source helped so many of my families! Every time one of my families needed something that we couldn’t provide I pointed them in the direction of Foster Source and they were able to help almost every time! Renee was also helpful to me when I needed advice or a resource to help my families. One in particular I think of first was when my family needed advice about the adoption they were going through. Renee used her connections to help us find a lawyer that had been through a similar case as my family and felt comfortable giving them advice!

When our son was placed with us in foster care, Renee drove waaay out of our way to deliver donated toys for him, and followed up with us months later to see how he was doing. We were able to adopt him almost 2 years ago and Foster Source is still close to our hearts for helping us in those first days with a new little one!
Foster Source is a terrific org that connects foster parents/families with needed resources. I have attended a few trainings through them as well. They are a terrific organization!
We are so glad we found Foster Source. The people are AMAZING and do so much to help foster families. From classes with daycare to helping people get the items they need to help the children.
I am a single mom with one daughter in college who now also has a kinship, toddler daughter. I became unemployed shortly after taking our little one into care and have been so blessed with the help of the foster community I have found on Facebook!
Foster Source is one resource that has helped me tremendously!! I saw a post on their page asking parents to list their needs. I didn’t think it could happen but I added a car seat, a weighted blanket and they offered diapers and wipes. I received everything and even got to pick out the weighted blanket online!! It has been such a big help. My little girls sleeps with it every night and it was a huge help to get her used to car rides as well. The car seat and diapers and wipes I received also saved me so much money and I am so thankful for Foster Source!
Foster Source has been an amazing resource for our family as we have fostered and adopted! They provide great trainings which are required for foster parents and they always provide childcare which is such a blessing and need! They have given us diapers, toys for our kids, free Colorado Rockies and Colorado Rapids tickets and helped our other foster friends with immediate needs. I also love that they involve the whole foster community in the help, so we can all work together to take care of kids in need. I am so grateful for Foster Source, they are wonderful!
