Enab Baladi, a Syrian Newspaper issued almost two years ago by a group of young people from Daraya, a town in Damascus Suburb who were a group of amateur activists who believed in the role of media and knew very well that the media must be independent and convey the actual reality in the absence of independent media in Syria.
Now, Enab Baladi is viewed as one of the best Syrian newspapers due to the efforts exerted by its team to reach professionalism

Enab Baladi started less than two years ago by a group of immature young Darayan, yet enthusiastic and of passionate belief of its role. And thus it became one of the most prominent independent Syrian media organizations. The weekly newspaper has been issued regularly despite the serious obstacles it has encountered.

Enab Baladi provides professional journalism , maintaining its role of providing a space to voices which were silenced by the dictatorial regime over the years, and of providing constructive criticism. The newspaper aims at raising the public awareness about civil society, and fundemental rights. It also aims at enhancing civic participation among Syrian people, youth in particular.
