I know personally Perera family for the past 20 years. They have worked hard and done many sacrifices to achieve their goal. They go out of their way to help people those who are in need. After the devastate in Sri Lanka due to the tsunami they organized ECS to help victims. I witnessed the load of bag packs and other necessary items to be sent to victims of children. In fact, on Srini's birthday, she requested her family and friends to make a donation to ECS instead of birthday presents.

This organization is one of the best charities that i have given to. Their work is directed at the personal level with the well-being of each recipient in mind. i look forward to a visit to Sri Lanka in the future so i can see first-hand the great things this charity has done. i have known the organizers of ECS for over 20 years and can attest to their virtue and character. I plan to continue support of ECS as a donor.

I began working with ECS days after the devastating tsunami hit this part of our Earth and have been involved professionally and personally ever since. The trip to Sri Lanka for a month with ECS has touched my heart and life in a way no other experience has. The saying, "think globally, act locally" is certainly true with ECS. One does not have to travel thousands of miles to help those in need; starting right here, at home, has and will continue to impact our local and global communities.

Honestly, it is ECS that has helped instill the belief in me that anyone can make a difference. Compared to large non-profits, ECS provides the opportunity to directly work with those who run the organization: the Perera family. Additionally, volunteers and sponsors can see exactly how their participation with ECS helps those supported by the organization through photographs, personal stories of volunteers, and letters written by those who have been helped. Working with ECS has been, and will continue to be, one of the best experiences of my life.

I have read the testimonials written by the very people who are the recipients of the multi-level aid ECS has provided to date. These are simple folks who remain bedeviled by the devastation and deprivation the tsunami visited upon them years ago. I have also been fortunate to be involved in the work ECS has continuously(!) been doing on behalf of Sri Lanka on this side of the ocean. It is a borderline miracle what the Perera family, numbering only four souls, has accomplished. Their dedication and assistance has been selective and focused on what it is that the remote village people really need short and long term. Clothing and school supplies for now, fishing boats(!!!!) for subsistence, and computers and text books for education; a long term goal. It has been an honor and a pleasure helping this happen.

Following the devastation of the tsunami in Sri Lanka the Perrera family decided to help the people who lost so much. They selected several hard hit communities and worked with them to reconstruct their lives by building schools, science and computer labs, houses, supplying teachers, computers, food, medical supplies, clothing and school supplies.

The Perrera's frequently visits to evaluate current projects and expands their work. In L.A. they constantly initiate and run fund raising events involving the neighborhood, community, several schools and churches. What started as lending a hand has become a lives work.

ECS does great work in Sri Lanka. I am totally confident that all of my donations to this organization go straight to help the people of Sri Lanka. Founders and head organizers of ECS, Lal, Srini, Jeneeka and Ninminde, are dedicated, compassionate and hard working people always keeping this organization and the people of Sri Lanka in the forefront of their daily lives. I encourage anyone to give what ever they can to this ECS.

I went to Sri Lanka with ECS and it was an amazing experience. I learned a lot about the people of Sri Lanka and had an amazing hands-on experience. We did everything from passing out back packs to painting houses and playgrounds. I hope I get to go back with them sometime.

I have been involved with ECSworld from the inception. Many people in need have benefited from the program. Some of them are people who lost everything when the Sunami hit Sri Lanka. They have regained their life with a little bit of help from ECS.
ECS continues to help those in need. They have virtually adopted a small village and giving children from pre-school onwards a solid foundation through education. Educational material, labs, computers, free meals and teachers salaries are some of many projects undertaken by ECS.
Container loads of material was collected and sent to many in need and they continue the good work and trying to expand. With more help, we can do more and I encourage those who can to get involved in any way they can. It is a very rewarding.

I am very impressed with Empowered Community Services. This group is tireless in their efforts to reach out to those in need. It makes me want to be a better person and give more.

They give cooking lessons and the proceeds go right to ECS. They collect clothing and school supplies and send these items with their own money to those in need. I have never seen a group work so hard to help the disadvantaged.

Everything they do is centered around giving back. To see the smiles on the faces of those they help means everything to them.
