Mission: Primary exempt purpose: to foster holistic health throughout the himalayan region by training, equipping, & apprenticing dedicated community partners.
Programs: The dayasagar project exists to foster holistic health throughout the darjeeling district in the himalayan region of india by providing ambulance service to remote villages, conducting health care camps, and training local health care workers. In 2005 this project established and continues to support a primary school for an average of 60 students in daragaon and since 2007 has run a health care clinic there also. Dayasagar currently staffs and runs three ambulances. One dedicated to 24/7 maternal/child transport and care and averages 25 runs a month. The second ambulance provides group transport to regional health care facilities. The third ambulance provides emergency care and transport as needed. Each run in this area takes many hours over extremely rough and hazardous roads.
