Mission: The darcy j foundation gives charitable contributions and assistance to adults, children, families and organizations in need, such as serving mothers and their families in local communities, inspiring them to live healthier lives, to support education and get involved in their communities. In addition, nutrition, fitness and sports, life management skills and community events are provided and promoted.
Programs: The organization's annual golf tournament was held in june 2014: proceeds were used to help relieve moms and their families with the burden of having to purchase back to school supplies. A total of 96 golfers participated in the tournament, and several corporate sponsors provided funding. In addition a silent auction was held and tournament prizes were given.
supermom 5k run/walk - orlando, florida: the orlando event was held in april 2014 and 784 participants, including numerous sponsors, came out to run/walk to support and celebrate moms. A portion of the orlando proceeds went to "compassion hands and hearts breast cancer outreach"
supermom 5k run/walk - broward county, florida: the broward event was held in may 2014 and over 350 participants, including numerous sponsors, came out to run/walk to support and celebrate moms. A portion of the broward proceeds went to "women in distress of broward county. "
youth sports: a youth football clinic and cheerleading camp was held in july 2014 in winter park, florida. All 267 participants received camp shirts, souveniers and lunch. The football portion of the camp was funded through a 4,700 grant from the national football league (nfl). In addition, an nfl pro-bowl wide receiver ran drills and gave motivation talks with the participants. The cheerleader camp hosted 57 girls from the central florida area and were taught cheers and dances by a jacksonville jaguars cheerleader and received an autographed poster. Also, camp hd basketball camp was held in august 2014, with 47 student athletes from downtown orlando and volunteer coaches. Back to school activities: in august 2014, backpack and school supplies were donated to youths througout the state of florida. The organization sponsored three events. 100 backpacks were donated to students in palatka, florida and 200 kids came out to celebrate the beginning of school. 100 backpacks and 100 school supplies packets were donated to students in pompano beach, florida and over 500 students were hosted. In orlando, florida 47 kids received backpacks filled with school supplies.
The Darcy J Foundation helps children and families around the Orlando community by raising money to do things such as sports clinics, donate items to local schools, toy drives, school supplie drives and many more events. As a volunteer, its great to see that our Orlando community is benefiting from these multiple initiatives.
