Six years ago, I moved to Florida from Philadelphia, PA where as a psychologist, I ran trauma treatment programs for children for many years. When I arrived in Florida, I began looking for a place to work that provides the highest quality of clinal care to children and families, and uses evidenced-based and innovative practices. I was not sure where to turn as a newcomer to the area, but as I met with leaders in the mental/behavioral health community in Palm Beach County, I kept hearing about the Center for Child Counseling (CFCC) and the amazing work they were doing, including clinical work and professional trainings in the areas of child adversity and trauma. I started with the agency as a volunteer and had such a positive experience that I joined the CFCC team as a staff psychologist almost a year ago. I could not be happier with my decision, and the amazing work I see being done by this agency for the children and families of Palm Beach County. When people needed them most during the Coronavirus shutdown, Center for Child Counseling immediately offered telehealth services for clients to keep them connected and ensure they received the support they needed. This nonprofit is comprised of a truly dedicated and committed group of people who are pushing for the systemic change we need to see in early childhood mental health.

My experience at Center for Child Counseling has been great. The therapists are genuinely invested in advocating and empowering clients.. i have learned creative ways to lessen the intensity of my trauma. My therapist has given me examples of how staying stuck in negative thoughts has lead to unhealthy behaviors. I have also been able to improve my ADLs and take time for self-care due to working with my therapist in regards that i do deserve to be healthy. I have also been given tools to FEEL safe and this has enabled me to maintain housing and develop a healthy support system. I appreciate all that my therapistt does for me in educating, showing me skills and making suggestions on my individual needs.

I am a Carecoordinator with the center for child counseling. it is truly a wonderful place to work and a great support to our community. As a Care Coordinator I help build caregiver’s executive functioning skills, by linking family with community resources to help address the socioeconomic factors affect families such as homeless, immigration, clothing ect. Not only do care coordinators link family with these resources we work with family to maintain these resources and break cycles.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with an auto immune disorder. My 8-year old twins suffered during that time seeing me sick. Thankfully I was referred to Center for Child Counseling where both of my children received services and were able to process their feelings during play therapy, art therapy and sand tray therapy. The lenses we forge in childhood are the same lenses through which we see things as an adult, and if issues are left unresolved, those lenses can color and distort everything. Center for Child Counseling is the best non profit organization in South Florida!! They help many families and children in Palm Beach County! CFCC changes people' lives...

I have watched this organization grow in a very special way. The mission and vision is followed with care in everything they do. Playful, Healthful and Hopeful! For the clients as well as the staff.

Center for Child Counseling is a fantastic place to work. Fun, hard working and passionate group of folks. The therapists and care coordinators provide much needed services to families and children in our community!! They go above and beyond to make sure our families are healthy, thriving and happy.

My internship experience at the Center for Child Counseling was more than I had imagined it to be. The staff, therapists, and fellow interns were extremely supportive throughout my time there. Their knowledge and influence impacted me and allowed me to grow into a more confident worker. Most importantly, they’re passionate about the children and families they serve. Every day was a positive learning experience. I am fortunate to have landed an amazing internship at the center and even more fortunate to be asked to join the team as an independent contract therapist. I had an incredible educational experience interning at the Center for Child Counseling. Training for the program was amazing and the staff was as supportive as they could possibly be. I have had such a great internship experience with the Center for Child Counseling. I was able to get trained extensively on how to use Play Therapy with clients as well as other interventions. In addition, I was able to get advice and supervision when needed. Everyone at the Center is friendly and willing to help in any way they can. Having completed my masters degree requiring significant time, effort, and expense, the additional requirement of continued supervision with out of pocket cost loomed... imagine my surprise to discover the kind of program offered by the Center for Child Counseling ~ truly a win-win-win arrangement! Through providing small group play therapy sessions in a preschool, I gain valuable experience that contributes to my continued training and growth (my private practice at this time does not afford the opportunity to learn and practice small group play therapy). The children involved benefit, and the cost of my supervision is covered (I am 'paid' to volunteer, as my supervision is 'free' in exchange for my time). This whole concept is simply brilliant and I am utterly grateful and blessed to partake of the benefits this program provides! Thank you, thank you for your continuing support of The Center for Child Counseling's internship program, which offers a rich and fulfilling practicum for Master’s level and Registered Interns!

I have seen firsthand the dedication of this fine group of professionals. Their focus is truly on serving the children of Palm Beach County. Many of them give up time at night and on weekends in order to do just that. I would highly recommend this organization to anyone needing its services.

I have completed my MSW field placement and internship with CFCC. I found the experience to be incredibly enriching and irreplaceable. The staff is filled with dedicated workers who value continuing education and providing aid to at risk communities. The Comprehensive Play Therapy Training that was conducted by The Center For Child Counseling was one of the best trainings I have experienced since becoming a licensed therapist. I was very grateful for having been selected for the opportunity and decided right away to make the best of it. My main goal in taking the training was to garner additional experience and expertise in working with children. I believed that having this particular experience would afford me the chance to become a more well-rounded clinician in terms of being able to have more diversity in working with different age groups. The Play Therapy training far exceeded my expectations and I was able to far exceed the goal I had set for myself. I acquired such a desire, that I did not know I possessed, in working with children and being able to utilize the Play Therapy model as a vehicle in order to do so. The staff of professional, warm and friendly individuals at the Center for Child Counseling, also made it possible for me to accomplish my goals and complete the training in a fun and relaxed environment. I was given ample opportunity to learn the model and incorporate my own personality in its delivery. Working with my supervisors and the children at the Centers was such an enjoyable and meaningful experience that I miss very much!! The Center for Child Counseling is doing great things for the children in the local communities. They are partnered with our organization Apostolic Child Development Centers, Inc. providing play therapy sessions for our children onsite. The parents and teachers are very impressed with the outcomes; we definitely see a difference in our children. We are looking to offer more parenting classes with the organization so we can better serve the child and family.

It is exciting to watch a good organization like All Bout Children blossom into a GREAT organization which is the Center for Child Counseling. The continued diversification and broadening of the services they provide fills a much needed gap in Mental Health Services geared towards children. Under the new leadership I believe this organization will quickly soar to the top and bring the children and families of Palm Beach county access to quality mental health as well as continuing to train professionals in the field with a broader range of workshops.

I recently attended training through the Center for Child Counseling - what a great clinical experience! I have been to workshops over the past few years and have been pleased, but the new team brings diverse backgrounds and experience - not only the use of non-directive Play Therapy.

I was happy to see the integration of infant mental health concepts and other effective models of treatment with young children. I look forward to attending upcoming workshops!

I am continually impressed with the work at the Center for Child Counseling, formally known as All Bout Children. I have been able to see the positive growth over the past year under new leadership - the Center has pulled together a fantastic team of professionals who work hard at helping children in our community. I look forward to continuing to parter with their team.

I participated in the last Comprehensive Play Therapy Training series. I had heard what an amazing workshop it was. I decided to post this because I want others to be aware that the training program is very different than it was in the past. I was very happy that the instructor for the workshop portion was good and very knowledgeable about play therapy. However, the instruction in the playroom was very disappointing. None of these therapists are Registered Play Therapists, one said she has met the requirements, but just never finished - yet she has been in practice for many years and claims this is important to her? She also contradicted the trainer from the workshop numerous times which was confusing. Another therapist in the play room seemed afraid of the children. In the end, I have been being trained in the play room by interns. This is not what I signed up for. I had colleagues who had raved about this comprehensive course, but the entire clinical staff who trained them have all left. With a new course coming up people should be aware of these problems.

I continue to be impressed by the commitment of the staff at the Center for Child Counseling. Their workshops and presentations are always professional and informative. The therapists are extremely well trained in effective therapies for children and families. Great leaders looking to work with other agencies to make a difference.

The Center for Child Counseling provides much needed services to vulnerable children and professionals in Palm Beach County. Their commitment to retaining only highly trained professionals to provide services is exemplary. I have attended trainings and am always impressed by their quality and all that I learn.

The Center for Child Counseling provides much needed mental health services and awareness to the local community. The expertise of the staff and leadership team is the key to their success and I am so thrilled that families in West Palm Beach will benefit from their services and programs. I recently was able to attend a comprehensive training provided by Center for Child Counseling. I have attended other trainings on play therapy but never have I been able to experience such an in-depth and valuable training such as this one. Center for Child Counseling has extremely talented professional sharing their knowledge with the trainees and has a unique training experience where we were able to put what we were learning into hands on experience with children. I have never been to a training that takes you into the field to practice the skills you were being taught. This made me realize how passionate and dedicated Center for Child Counseling is to making sure there are properly trained professionals working with our youth. If more professionals were able to receive this training, the impact on our youth would be invaluable. In addition to all that was learned in the training, we were all able to see the impact play therapy was having on these children within the first week. I could not speak highly enough of Center for Child Counseling and their professionals. I can only hope that more professionals have the opportunity to train with Center for Child Counseling not only for their own professional growth but for the impact that I know they will continue to have with our youth in the community.

As the executive director of a national non profit dedicated to helping children with special needs and disabilities, I saw firsthand the impact this agency makes in the lives of children! Watching the children's behavior change, to see them blossom and gain confidence was always inspiring. The agency is led by a stellar executive director, and the staff is professional, effective, and empowering. They are highly respected in our community and they make a difference!

All Bout Children provides exceptional services to children and families who are in need of therapeutic and mental health support. In addition, All Bout Children implements a unique and comprehensive therapeutic intervention program for preschool age children and provides effective training programs for teachers and administrators in early childhood programs. The staff are highly skilled clinicians who truly care about making a difference in the lives of children. This non-profit organization has a proven track record for administering a variety of therapeutic programs through a cost effective framework. In my opinion, there is no better organization for serving young children, families and teachers!

I am a member of the Board for All Bout Children and was introduced to the organization 7 years ago when my son first received play therapy from Jane Robinson. I had never heard of such a thing before but was amazed at how comprehensive the program is. My son was born in Russia and lived the first 2 1/2 years of his life in an orphanage. He had very little social skills, coping ability and truly did not know how express himself. He blossomed while working with Jane. Over the next few years, we worked with ABC periodically. In 2011 I was asked to join the board and am awed everyday with the work that these amazing therapists do. My son regularly sees Roxanne Groebbel to work through some issues that have arisen as he gets farther into school. We have seen significant changes in Alex and his ability to express his feelings, his ability to cope with anger and stress. We credit the team at All Bout Children for the changes in Alex and for teaching us as parents, the skills we need to help Alex. This is a truly gifted group of people who are dedicated to helping children. It is an honor to be a part of the team.

All Bout Children has been a great influence in my life both personally and professionally. I feel very fortunate to have completed my internship and take away all the wonderful skills that I learned. I use ABC's methods every day in my career as a therapist and with my own young child. I have seen the improvement with my son's emotional and social well being. My son was able to overcome his anxieties through play therapy. I am very greatful for my experience all All Bout Children and would recommend this organization to clients as well as professionals who want to learn the essentials of play therapy.

I have been with ABC for about 8 years. I am the Director of a Head Start Program in West Palm Beach. I serve on the Board and am President of the Advisory Board. My program serves low incorme and at risk children and their families. ABC has been a tremendous asset to the program by providing support and training to the staff, therapy and counseling for the children and their parents. The staff at ABC are always professional and willing to help in anyway they can. For example, we just started our new school year, where we had a new 3 year old group. Many of the children had their first school experience and was not happy to be away from their parents. They were very upset and was crying for their mommies. ABC staff was right there for them. They held the children in their arms and comforted them until there were no more tears. ABC should be in all early education programs, I am so happy they are in mine.

Rather than donate money without any personal involvement,I wanted to volunteer for a local charity that made a difference in individual children's lives. For the past 8 years I have been involved with ABC, both as a volunteer and donor. I have seen 1st hand how this organization has changed the lives of hundreds of children. It reaches children at their most vulnerable time,before they go to school. I believe that it is critical that these children receive this therapy at the earliest possible time.I have seen how ABC's techniques of play therapy have changed the lives of children who otherwise would have had no chance.I witnessed how an instructor was able to recognize how a child's behavior in play therapy led to a discovery of child abuse at home. Because of ABC this child was able to receive help in eliminating this abuse. In addition they train mental health professionals as well as family members so they can extend the reach to more children. Their weekly staff meetings with health care professionals and volunteers allow for exchange of experiences and techniques which help more children.The expertise and compassion that I witnessed made me a believer in this technique. I have tried to let others in WPB know about this wonderful service. Please help them to make a difference in more children's lives. Stan Winokur

I attended a training this past weekend focusing on the implementation of Play Therapy. The training offered by All 'Bout Children was interactive and inspirational. The material was clearly explained and very informative. During the training, the facilitators shared their personal experiences of the power of play therapy. This agency focuses on the child as well as the family to ensure that the child is living in a healthy, nurturing environment. I am honored to have had the opportunity to learn about Play Therapy through All 'Bout Children.

I am currently participating in a comprehensive play therapy training through All Bout Children which entails a combination of didactic sessions on play therapy (specially during the first week of training) and hands-on experience (divided in a 12 week period). The training is designed in a way that participants are able to grasp the cornerstones of play therapy (during didactic sessions) and then applying them when conducting small play therapy groups during the hands-on experience (which are led by therapists and interns). The opportunity of being able to study specific skills, apply them and receiving live supervision is great. I appreciate the support during the small play therapy groups in which the learning occurs by directly implementing a skill and by seing the therapist doing it as well. As a mother I was also validated in some of my home experiences and that is outstanding as well!! Thanks for the opportunity!

All 'Bout Children has such an incredible heart for children. I learned so much from my time spent interning with the agency. I am an LCSW and I worked hand in hand with ABC staff to promote emotional health and wellness in the underserved, at risk children that ABC reaches out to. ABC understands the importance of impacting the environment that its children reside. ABC's work wtih the daycare staff is what truly sets them apart. They touch the lives of countless children directly and indirectly as they impart their wisdom on the lives of daycare staff which works day in and day out with these children.

All 'Bout Children provided a wonderful, comprehensive training on play therapy with young children. The hands-on approach allowed me to see in real time what I had learned and how to apply new skills. I appreciate the expertise and feedback from the staff, they were all very helpful. It was an excellent opportunity I was so happy to participate in.

The opportunity to also provide hands on services during my learning experience was like no other training or workshop I have attended with other agencies. I am currently working towards my registration in play therapy and am working in the field in a community agency. I got involved with ABC to expand my skills in this specialty and came away with much more than I expected. The training provided a solid educational foundation while giving what most programs don't give, hands on, on-going practical experience to allow trainees to continue using their new skills. This program is like no other I have seen in the field. Roxanne is an excellent leader and her passion really comes through in everything that she teaches and models.

ABC is a wonderful program that works so hard to help the public in Florida as well as educating other professionals around the US. I participated in a play therapy training that was phenomenal and inspired me to do great work with the guidance of the ABC staff. The staff are genuine, caring, and truly wish to contribute to the betterment of society and help children, parents, and teachers better deal with the challenges they face in their everyday lives. They taught me great skills in play therapy not just through their didactic training but also with providing me with feedback while giving me hands-on opportunities to practice what I have learned. Their goal and mission is of such importance and is truly life-changing to all those they touch and reach!!!!

I recently attended a ThinkKids Presentation October 2011 training from All Bout Children and was amazed at the planning, compassion, and level of expertise gathered together by Jane Robinson and Roxanne Groebbel. These ladies are outstanding!

In each training I have attended three things stick out 1) they choose relevant intriguing material on behalf of children and families that when implemented impact lives. 2)They choose dynamic professional speakers that really add to my knowledge base as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist making CEU procurement fun. 3)These ladies and the ABC team take such care to make the presentations engaging and lively. They go the extra mile to provide healthy snacks, timely breaks, stretching and benign distractors (ie play do, crayons, pipe cleaner as we go through the course of a day) which serves as informal breaks throughout the presentation as we need it without distracting others. Thank you for all your hard work. Well done to the ABC team! You have a unique niche that only you can fill!

I have worked with this organization for just over 4 years. Words cannot begin to the express the profound positive changes in the lives the countless children and families that ABC serves for which I have witnessed first hand. Having worked with some of these children since infancy, the value of early intervention has never been more clear. In fact, those children for whom have received mental health services in the childcare center since 6 weeks old, are now the children who are ready to learn in their Pre-K classrooms and virtually have little or no need for further social and emotional wellness services. The power of play and early intervention social and emotional wellness services are what high risk children and their families so desperately need to achieve life's successes. The ABC program should be required for all childcare centers! Healthy Children become Healthy Adults that create Healthy Communities and influence Healthy Societies - ABC fosters healthy beginnings for what is important to us all!

I became an intern at All 'Bout Children in 2004 for my undergraduate degree. I had no idea what play therapy even was until I stepped foot into this agency. Immediately I was welcomed and trained in a very professional manner. I was not "thrown into" it like many horror stories I'd heard of clinical internships. They adequately trained and equipped me from the first day and was encouraged throughout the whole process. Not only does ABC provide support to clients, but also to each other. They are not an agency who says one thing and does not do another - even behind the scenes. They are an all-around excellent agency. I loved ABC/play therapy so much that after graduation I pursued my Masters in order to continue working in this field. I just finished up my SECOND internship with them. I specifically asked for them and desired to be trained on a graduate level. The internship, again, exceeded all my expectations. I now volunteer one day at week now that my internship is over. This is a wonderful, wonderful agency who is caring, genuine, and supportive in all their work.
