Mission: The mission of 4 Paws is to promote the physical and psychological well being of animals by providing a safe haven for cats while finding them adoptive homes or life long shelter.
We are a no kill shelter and do not euthanize cats except in the case of excessive or untreatable pain or suffering. Each case of euthanasia is treated individually, ensuring that we have done all we can in cases of injury or sickness. Only then will we authorize euthanasia. In cases of terminal illness, we also evaluate the cats quality of life before euthanasia is discussed.
All cats are tested for Felv/Fiv and kittens under 6 months are tested for Felv. All cats/kittens are given Felv/Fvrcp vaccines and Rabies vaccines, unless Felv positive, before adoption. All cats/kittens are spayed/neutered before being adopted.
We have been in service since 1996, starting out very small with cats in the rear of a small thrift store and have grown to a large thrift store, a three section Adoption/Intake/Free Roam area, a separate shelter building and we adopt out of 2 local PetSmart locations.
Back in November of 2014 I had to put my boy kitty down due to illness. I swore that day I would never have another pet as it's just to heartbreaking when you lose a pet. But then one day in May, a friend of mine sent me a link to Sun Cities 4 Paws rescue website as there was this boy kitty that was declawed all the way around and needed a home. Well that's all it took, I called the shelter who stayed late that evening to let me meet the kitty. It was love at first sight and they new it too! They made the adoption process so seamless to the point I have them looking for a declawed playmate for my new kitty. They truly are the best at taking care of rescued animals and finding them a forever home!!
A litter of kittens were born in my front yard and Sun Cities 4 Paws helped in finding a home for the mommy cat. She was a neighborhood stray and while I was able to find a home for the kittens I couldn't for the mom. I reached out and they took her in and found her a home in a short time. What they do for the kittens and cats makes me smile.
I adopted two cats here. The staff is amazing, the surroundings are clean, and you have a lifetime opportunity to return your cat for re-adoption should you be killed in a drive-by shooting! Your animals will never be homeless! So many 'rescues' are not all about the cats. This one is ! ! Please help them out with a financial donation so they can continue their mission.
Very clean and well maintained shelter. They love each cat so nobody feels left out.
However. If I have a huge house and income this rescue shelter should not be able to turn down a adoption because it would be my 5th or 6th animal.
You are in the business of helping homeless pets. Come visit my home before passing judgement. Let the animals have a better chance at a forever home.
