Rabbit Wranglers has truly revolutionized the Pittsburgh rabbit community by not only rescuing and rehabilitating the most at-risk bunnies; but by connecting rabbit parents, shelter and pet store employees, volunteers, the veterinary community, and rabbit enthusiasts to share experiences and expertise that results in more lives saved and a more safe and healthy environment for rabbits across Pittsburgh and beyond.
I am eternally grateful and constantly amazed by the services that Rabbit Wranglers provides to the Pittsburgh area. I originally discovered them when searching for an expert to help me with a rabbit that sort of fell into my lap. I had never intended to have a rabbit as a pet, so I was very uneducated about rabbit care-I wasn't even going to spay my rabbit! One of the founders of RW personally tutored me in her home for hours on weeknight evenings, through emails, and even text messages at all hours to teach me proper rabbit care and handling, and to answer any questions I had. I am now an adopter of a rabbit saved by RW. My poor boy was brought to an area shelter with e. cuniculi- a death sentence for rabbits in mainstream shelters. RW was contacted by the shelter when my bun, now named Wyatt, exhibited head tilt and spinning at the shelter. RW treated his E.C., rehabilitated him, and fostered him until he could be adopted as mainstream shelters could not manage the neurological damage from the E.C.- the stress and stimulation would spend him into spins of panic. RW walked me through the risks of adopting a post-E.C. rabbit, and helped me step-by-step to bond Wyatt and my spayed female. I attest to this day that I have not done a greater service for an animal than when I bonded these two. Their love and friendship is incredibly strong, and Wyatt has not exhibited any panic spins since he has been bonded. Since adopting Wyatt, RW has provided continuous support to my inquiries and worries, all the while rescuing countless other rabbits unfit for shelters and released to fend for themselves. Obviously, I cannot say enough great things about this organization!
Top notch group dedicated to rabbit rescue and education.
I am the co-owner of a pet store in Pittsburgh, and we have sought out Rabbit Wranglers on many many occasions. Their expert help with all things rabbit has been invaluable. As we've come to know them, we've done some events for them and tried to support their organization as much as possible. We get asked for support by quite a number of organizations. How do we choose? Well, with a long background in non-profits, I can recognize all the hallmarks of a well-run organization. And Rabbit Wranglers has them! they have terrific stewardship of funds, great volunteer recruitment and management, really sound partnership with the community, professional graphics and media pieces, a responsible ing-term plan...and the list goes on. They are one of the best run non-profits I have ever encountered, and we are so proud to work with them.
Rabbit Wranglers is a great resource for rabbit owners! They have a fantastic community outreach with brochures that range in subject from proper nutrition to behavioral issues and classes that teach people how to properly care for their rabbit pets.
They have a great troop of volunteers and fosters, all of whom are passionate about the well being of rabbits.
In addition, they do amazing work with "special needs" rabbits. The patients that I see will sometimes have medical needs that would cause other people to give up on them. Rabbit Wranglers takes them on, and these rabbits just thrive!
We are truly lucky to have Rabbit Wranglers as a resource!
