Project Safe is the prime example of how a local nonprofit should interact and form relationships with its community partners. They keep an open dialogue with their partners to let them know their needs and how we can help assist them in their mission. Their staff is passionate, driven, and devoted to the organization and the clients they serve. Project Safe goes above and beyond in the mission to end domestic violence and works to make themselves known on UGA's campus as well. They have purposeful educational programming that caters to all ages and demographics. It's clear Project Safe deeply cares and it's an honor to work alongside them and raise money for their organization.

Project Safe is a stand out non-profit in our community. The services they’ve provided over the decades have been transformational to so many lives and they’ve developed some of the most entertaining and profitable fundraisers in our state.

Project Safe staff and volunteers work daily to fulfill their mission of ending domestic violence. The organization uses it's resources carefully, and responds with compassion and creativity to their callers and clients. I'm proud to donate each year to Project Safe, and wish I could give more.

Project Safe is so much more than a shelter. This organization had its roots as a hot line and has grown in scope and services. Project Safe provides advocacy for people affected by DV -- people who rarely have a voice themselves in front of legislators and policy-makers. The staff provide community outreach, educating many groups across our community and region. They have created a texting service with area teens who can get free guidance and help with dating and other uncomfortable social situations. Housing, transportation and counseling services help scores of women, children and families every year to break free from the chains of control and violence, to find shelter and healing, and to build pathways to health and independence.

I have been involved with Project Safe since the late 1990's -- donating funds, items for the Thrift Shop and also vitally needed shelter supplies from the "needs list". I have also attended many area fundraising and awareness events. Everyone I have dealt with over the years (staff, volunteers) have been very sincere and appreciative. They truly have a heart and passion to help others. Reading the Newsletters and Annual Reports, one is struck by the huge impact Project Safe has on victims of domestic violence throughout the Athens and surrounding communities. I was very impressed to know that my donations would truly benefit those in need. Per PSI's mission statement, "90 cents of every dollar contributed to Project Safe goes to programs and services directly benefiting battered women and children." THIS is the kind of honest and dedicated organization I will continue to support. Thanks for all you do, Project Safe!
