I have been involved with Pet Project for 2.5 years and am now a board member for this amazing nonprofit. Pet Project has made an extremely positive and long lasting impact on our local community. Here at Pet Project, our goal is to keep people and pets together forever. Most of our beneficiaries are those who are elderly, disabled or an a fixed income and unable to provide for the basic care of their pet. Pet Project raises money to be able to help those pet owners provide food, grooming, medical, and supplies for their pets. Most of these individuals have nobody left except their pet, so we do what we can to keep them together. In addition, Pet Project responds to natural disasters by sending trucks with pallets of pet food, beds, etc around the state and around the country. The Pet Project is truly a remarkable organization and one that most of us can relate to.
I have been helping raise money and helping get donations for our thrift store, Hidden Treasures, for years. This organization helps so many people and their animals. I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing and worth while charity.

Pets stay at home with their human. This keeps so many pets out of already over crowded shelters and while saving pets lives we are also saving their humans.
This organization is unique because it is a rescue, a shelter, a pet food bank all in one.

I have known Pet Project for Pets for about ten years. I have watched them grow and do amazing things. It is sometimes a 24 hour, 7 days a week job but they persevere and never complain. They now feed 1,100 dogs a month through their Food Co-op on a monthly basis. My hat is off to the fine work they do.
I must tell you that when people learn more about this organization they are struck in the heart. We are the Pinnacle for maintaining The Human/Companion Animal Bond. This is done by helping ones who are financially burdened or Medically challenged and my lose the one thing which may be only what they really have besides material objects. By us being able to help them keep their pet..They live happier and healthier daily lives..
The Pet Project provides the means for people who are financially or medically challenged to be able to keep their pets. In so doing it keeps pets out of shelters or worse while preserving the human / animal bond. The Pet Project is a unique organization and I personally experienced the importance of it's work when I delivered pet food to a few of the disbled clients and listened to their stories about how much their pets mean to them. One client told me that an alarm had gone off in her home while she was sleeping, her dog woke her up and in the dark guided her to the front door. Fortunately, there was no emergency in this case but had there been it was her pet who would have saved her. When I have looked into the eyes of the peole we serve and their pets I can see the greatfulness they have for what we do at Pet Project and for me it is the most rewarding work I have ever done.
