I started volunteering right before COVID broke out. I am an "empty nester" and wanted to get out and do some good in the community while also keeping busy. I found that it met those needs but also, more importantly, it gave me a sense of purpose and fulfillment. I loved knowing I was a small part of helping people in need in our community. Everyone there was so helpful and friendly. I instantly felt at home. Community Link is a wonderful, wonderful organization that absolutely meets the needs of our most fragile citizens. It was an honor working with them. I am looking forward to returning and carrying on their mission.

I am a volunteer at Community Link in Saginaw, TX. We have eight members from our church that volunteer regularly at CL. The staff keeps a clear well organize area to allow volunteers to assemble food and household items to the clients. All items are delivered directly to the clients car.
Community Link is a blessing to the community.

I have volunteered at Community Link, Saginaw Tx. for the past two years. Giving out food to those families in the local community that are in need, is very rewarding. This nonprofit is very well organized, and is a great place to serve others. My wife, and granddaughter both volunteer there too. Many local churches provide donations to Community Link along with volunteers. I can't imagine how many families are blessed thru this vital food source for those in need. I feel blessed to be a part and sure those who volunteer and work along side me.

I have volunteered numerous times over the past 5 years. I am fortunate to be on the giving side of such a wonderful organization. The people who work here are truly a gift and love the work they do. They serve a higher purpose and desire to serve those less fortunate. There is not a place more deserving than Community Link in my opinion.

I sponsor a service committee for at-risk high school students. We volunteer every two weeks to help break down trucks for Community Link. My students, who sometimes can be a handful at school, always work hard and show their true colors when volunteering. It gives them the opportunity to see how much good work is done through the food bank. Some of their parents have probably had to take advantage of the food bank before and I believe the cherish the opportunity to repay kindness.

My children (16 and 14 years old) and I volunteer as often as we can. The clients are so thankful for Community Link, which is a blessing in itself. However, the volunteers we work with are so kind, gracious and complimentary, we never want to leave. At Community Link, we have found our people and we get to help out our community too.

I started as a volunteer when Community Link was located in the little house down the street. It has been amazing to watch it grow into the building space it now occupies. What a blessing it is to be a part of an organization that is able to feed and help so many people in our community. With the generosity of so many of our local stores we are able to provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and meat. I volunteer every Monday because I love working with the other volunteers and interacting with the clients and hearing their stories.

I've been a volunteer at Community link for three years. I love working with this group because they treat their clients like it's just a day at the grocery store. Clients are treated with dignity and respect from the moment they check in, to filling out the grocery list, to the final loading of groceries in the car. I'm also amazed that nearly 1/2 of the pantry is frozen meat and refrigerated goods. Another 1/4 is fresh fruit and vegetables. Not only does Community Link provide about 100 pounds of food per family, but they stock healthy and fresh items whenever possible. CL closes at a certain time each day, but I've never seen anyone turn a desperate (but late) person away. I keep going back because it doesn't feel like volunteering for a charity, it feels a lot like working in a grocery store with a lot of people who care about their neighbors.

Volunteer: This charity goes above and beyond to help those in need. The volunteers are wonderful hard working people. They serve those in need with respect and compassion. It is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. They have plenty of fresh healthy fruits and vegetables. Lots of canned goods.
I volunteer on Mondays.

This organization continues to amaze me, serving 100s of families every month. And when there’s a need, the community responds. I’m only able to volunteer on Saturdays. Every month, I am humbled by the clients we serve. My family has been blessed and I try to share those blessings whenever I can.

I have been involved as a volunteer with Community Link since the very beginning (June 2005) when a group from four area churches met to discuss how to address food insecurity in the Saginaw and surrounding areas. We opened in a small house a year later and haven't looked back. It has been exciting to watch this organization grow and serve this community. I am honored to work directly with the clients, hear their stories, cry with them, laugh with them, and be blessed by them (yes, volunteers are blessed often more than the clients). The entire community has gotten behind this organization by donated inventory, holding food drives, donating $$, and sending volunteers every time the doors are open. Fighting hunger, giving hope (a motto we could all embrace). Thank you Community Link for all you do.

I have donated to this organization over the years. It wasn't until the past few months, that I started volunteering as one of the people who gathered the groceries for the clients. After a few months, I started interviewing clients. Now they have computerized their client information to better serve the clients.
This organization has wholeheartedly embraces their clients without judgment. They have increased helping people through Back to School drives which include back packs full of school supplies, haircuts, eye exams, etc. During Christmas they have a huge drive to provide gifts for needy families to select from. I'm very proud to say I'm a volunteer of Community link.

I’ve been helping out at Community Link for a few years now as a ‘shopper.’ After a client has a list filled out, I take that list and ‘shop’ for that client. Sometimes there’s only one person for that list; sometimes 8 or more. I gather everything from shampoo, canned veggies, fresh fruit, frozen meats, dairy....everything that a family needs to help feed them during a difficult time. Everything is put into grocery bags, then we load our items into their car. What really grabs your heartstrings is when a little child, waiting in the backseat, will grab something from those items to eat because, as their mom/dad/grandparent/guardian explains, there was no breakfast that morning and their little child was hungry. Makes you realize this place really makes a difference.

I’m a volunteer at Community Link. I LOVE working here. Not only is the staff great but so are the other volunteers & the clients. I have a great time & it is very obvious by the “thank yous” that we get from the clients that we are needed & necessary.

Community Link is a wonderful, caring organization that provides food to a multi-zip code area in North Fort Worth and the Saginaw area. As a volunteer, I get to see the appreciation of the clients and the grace and generosity of a community that cares about their neighbors. This is a great place to give a few hours of your time to help others.

This place has a friendly and welcoming staff that work hard to serve the people of this community. Their compassion is contagious and inspiring. Every time I leave, I leave a slightly different person-one who cares more and loves deeper. They have that kind of impact and I'm grateful for every visit.

I have been involved with Community Link for a number of years and I have to say that it is one of the best organized and well run organizations I have volunteered with. They work together for the common cause and are fully committed to helping those in need within our community.

I have volunteered at Community Link for 9 years. It has amazed me how we started in small house and have grown to such an extent that we have this fine building to work out of. One of the things I like is that we have such wonderful community support from various grocery stores, schools, businesses, churches, organizations and individuals in our area. Their donations make it possible for us to offer fresh produce, meat and other fine foods to our clients. We are a choice pantry, meaning clients get to choose the foods they want.
I also enjoy working with the volunteers and management personnel. We share tears and laughter as we work together. God has truly blessed us. :) Connie

Community Link is my favorite place to spend a few hours volunteering! The people there make getting food from the pantry seem like any old day at the grocery store. They know their regular clients and occasionally details about their lives. Connection is one of the most important things they offer. As a volunteer, there is always something to do. It may be filling grocery lists, stocking, or bagging up items for the next shift. It really is an "all hands on deck" kind of place. I was so moved during the Christmas event that I plan to be back year after year with as many helpers as I can bring. I couldn't get over the number of people lined up around Saginaw for food for 4 solid hours. Clearly, Community Link is vital to NW FTW.

My school was a part of the fundraising effort that started Community Link years ago. As a volunteer, it gives me a great deal of pride to see how much it has grown and how vital a part of the surrounding area Community Link has become. I love shopping for the clients, meeting them, and knowing that I am helping, in a small way, to make their day and possibly their outlook just a bit better. I'm grateful for the opportunity to lend my support and to donate food and my time to this great organization!

I have volunteered at Community Link for 10 years. We started as a very small organization and have grown to serve so very many families, yet we are still able to keep it personal with each client. Love our clients, our staff, and our volunteers. And so proud of the town of Saginaw, Tx , the businesses in the area, and the churches that so strongly supports us. Together we serve!

Every time we have the privilege to volunteer at the Community Link Mission in Saginaw, I am impressed with the manor in which they care for the community. The staff and regular volunteers are always professional, courteous, cheerful and patient with the people they serve. The warehouse is always well organized and back stock brought to the front of the shelves. This is a very caring place.
