I would have supported this organization but I was misinformed by the staff. I applied for a dog and was told it was already sold. I would suggest updating your customers prior to them re arranging their schedule.

Amazing place! It feels as though the dogs are in a 5 star hotel! All under A/C and huge backyard to play in! So happy we saw that news cast of their location when we did because we went to their location and immediately felt so welcomed! The staff was very helpful and kind! Thank you to especially Cody, Julia, and Melissa! You guys rock! We now have our puppy in his furever home. ♥️

The folks at Big Dog Ranch Rescue are awesome. They came all the way to Texas to rescue animals from the flood. The entire time they were here they had the best uplifting attitudes. Keep up the great work. -Doug from Kountze VFD

BDRR did us a great favor of rescuing an Engish Mastiff all the way from Georgia. They have a very professional atmosphere (especially considering their cramped conditions in the trailers. The gals I dealt with were very friendly and showed a lot of love for the animals they worked with. the outgoing package they gave us was very appreciated by us. I highly recommend BDRR to anyone looking for a forever pooch.

Walking into the big dog ranch rescue it was a very nice facility and there was someone to help us out as soon as we got in. They then paired us with one of the trainers to narrow down a few dogs on our list and go check them out in person. We wanted a large (90lbs+), which they had a few so we were very excited. While looking at the dog we chose they kept saying how mellow he was and have the story on how he was rescued and ended up at the ranch. Side note, they have this program where the employees are given a dog to work with and get to know them better. That being said the employee that worked with our dog was never there and didn't pick up the phone for the first few days. But going off the dogs character and calmness we decided to rescue him. They told us he was great with people and we told them we are very outgoing people and he'd be going everywhere with us, they said he's a great dog for that as mellow as he was. After bringing him home we took him for walks and played in our yard and everything was going great! We were so happy, till one night walking someone asked to pet him and we said of course he's really calm. The gentleman proceeded to pet the dog very respectfully and nicely. Then stopped and talked to us for 5 min then as he went to pet the dog saying by the dog lunged at him! We apologized so much and the man was fine so we went our ways. 2 days later he did it again to our neighbor and then the next day to another person. So we called the employee who was assigned to work with him and finally got ahold of the employee and we had gone over what had happened and the first thing he replied with was "oh yeah, he's very insecure and will attack whenever he feels threatened or someone stares hime in the eyes". Which overall I'm aware some docs get that way especially ones that have had a tough start to life and got rescued. But there was nothing in his file or their bio about this and we were very frustrated with this considering we had been told he was a big lover and nothing of this insecurity. So the next day we called the BDRR and told them of our problem, all they had to say was sorry guess it just never made it to file, we are busy trying to move to a new facility. Me and my girlfriend have young nieces and yes we would've taken it slow to start but what if this 110lb dog lunges at my 5 year old niece after meeting him a few times because he felt threatened? The dog would have done a lot of damage to our nieces. So with this we couldn't keep him and all they had to say was "fine fill out the surrender forms and we'll take him back". Makes us feel like horrible people when we got lied to and they didn't offer to refund the deposit or help anymore after that. No follow up calls or anything. Not very Pleasant or hospitable after they have your money with no other choices for us at their ranch.. Needless to say I will not promote this rescue and any friends talking about them I will be steering them clear of the big dog ranch rescue!

My husband and I adopted two puppies back in October 2015 (Layla and Biscotti- now Winnie and Walter). The process went smooth and the people who work there were all so helpful and amazing. Our pups are 6 1/2 months old now and they are awesome! We are so happy with our decision to support and adopt from BDRR! Their love and support of these animals is incredible!

Our experience with BDRR was great, we adopted our dog 4 months ago when they were having a event at petco. We're so happy we walked in to petco that day, Blu is such an amazing dog just like all the other doggys that need homes from BDRR! Other than them not knowing too much info on blu's behavior, like if he would be okay with cats (he was, which was fantastic), they made the whole process easy; we got to take him home right then and there and everyone was super friendly! They really care about the dogs there and I look forward to start volunteering there soon and adopting another dog in the future!!

My boyfriend and I had been wanting to adopt a dog together for some time. After months of research though, we just couldn't find quite the right dog or rescue for us. I happened upon BDRR by chance, and after seeing some adult dogs that looked promising, we made the 3 hour drive over. Even during the process of the move to their new location, everything was incredibly organized! The dogs had so much space to run and play and looked so happy, which was surprising for rescue dogs who can sometimes look sad and lonely! They had so much information and sat down with us to be sure we could find the perfect dog for us.
We didn't find any that really seemed interested in us/ones that would be cat friendly, but were told that there was one puppy left from one of the dog's litters. Olympia immediately locked eyes with my boyfriend and snuggled in his arms, covering his face in kisses. Before we knew it, we realized we were taking a puppy home!

I absolutely love BDRR; the volunteers are so kind and want to make sure you take home the perfect dog for you and your family. They aren't focused on making a quick buck; they are focused on providing forever homes to their resident dogs, and being sure they are happy and lives even while in the shelter. Thank you for helping us find our beautiful girl Midna!!!

I rescued a dog from Big Dog Ranch Rescue after i lost my dog to lymphoma. When i arrived at the ranch, i asked the adoption coordinator which dog was the sweetest small dog they had and she took me right to *Joseph*. I fell in love instantly. He had been abandoned in a home and when Big Dog Ranch got the call about him, they didn't hesitate to take him and a team of volunteers went right over and rescued him. He had been with Big Dog Ranch Rescue about 3 days when i saw him and just knew that he would help feel the huge hole in my heart after losing my other dog. His name is now Squish. They do a great job, take really good care of their dogs and really help to make sure that people are matched with the right dog.

Worst day ever at Big Dog Ranch Rescue, found a pup that we fell in love with as soon as we came in the door, waited our turn for people ahead of us to see Sparkle. As we were outside playing with her we told the guy showing us her that we wanted her. Then the guy showing her to us said someone who was there earlier had just come back to look at again......while we were playing with her, broke our heart! The proper thing should have been wait to see what we were going to do, no deposit left by other people or hold on pup, asked 3 workers, said they didn't take deposits or hold pups and they were still showing her. Posted what happened on their Face Book Page but they deleted it. What's is the sense of having a visitors comments if you are going to delete them so people can't read? When we called on our hour ride home the guy who answered was told what happened and asked for owner or someone in charge to call and we were told he will not have them call. I have the names out of curtiousy I will not say names, wish they would have showed us the same.......

A wonderful experience. Looking forward to returning. Educational as well as entertaining. The property is immaculate and the big cats look very content. Hard to believe that some of these animals had not been well taken care at their previous homes. The big cats all look so healthy and happy now!

I have 2 very big, and 1 small reason why I started to follow Big Dog Ranch Rescue!! Originally from the east coast I was excited to find any and all things BIG dog!! I attended a few events where they would be, just to see the dogs, and was always delighted by the knowledgeable and friendly folks attached to the leashes. My work schedule demands never allowed for hands on volunteer opportunity, sorry guys. Recently I have relocated to the other coast, and my only connection to BDRR has been on facebook. Everyday I get some kind of giggle or warm feeling when I see the energetic and current posts. I actually see more successful adoption posts and personal thank yous than I see requests for help. I really admire that in a dog rescue!
A particular dog caught my eye, and I felt it was time to give a hand. The website, actually the link from FB, worked beautifully, there was a clear connection to BDRR's site, and a very easy and safe to use donation icon.. that lead to paypal. After the donation was cleared, I quickly received an emailed receipt, and then I received an email from the staff thanking me, and remind me of how much they all appreciate it. No offense, but as I read it, I did mumble blah, blah, blah.. Ok another donation proper thing to do email... BUT, the next day I received yet another email, and oh man did I feel bad for my original thought. This email, thanked me even more personally. I knew because the sender (Kristen) had taken the time to look at my email address, and compliment on it. I did not get that mass email reply that most organizations tend to send out. I did feel special, and like part of their family.
Helping BDRR and helping Clyde was a lot more rewarding than that designer coffee would have ever been. Thanks BDRR for using that coffee analogy, it really made me and 84 other fans think!! And look what you guys did!!
