My name is Natalie Butt and I'm a studio ambassador from TAME Dance Academy! I love Traveling Tutus because it enables people from all around the world to enjoy the gift of dance with one another! Being that dance is my passion, I find this organization so fun and inspiring to be apart of. I also love connecting with other ambassadors and meeting new people/ambassadors at TT events & fundraisers. Such an incredible organization!!!
I love that Traveling Tutus has given me an opportunity to share my passion for dance and help others! We have had a great bonding experience filled with fun at the pointe shoe painting party I hosted as a TT Ambassador and we made money for the organization at our holiday ballet show!

This program not only provides support to children across the world to enable them to learn the love of dance, but it is an excellent leadership building program for young dancers. Their program has built in mentorship opportunities for young dancers to develop as leaders and community activists while promoting something they love and learning basic business and marketing skills! My daughter has enjoyed being a part of this program as a Studio Ambassador
I am proud to be representing The Ashburn Academy of Dance in Ashburn, VA in being the 2016-2017 studio ambassador. Traveling Tutus has greatly impacted my life by giving me an opportunity to help brighten a child's life in showing them the joy of dance. I love being able to come up with new and creative fundraising ideas to help support Traveling Tutus and inform my community about them. I feel very lucky to be able do do what I love, so sharing the gift of dance with children all around the world is a wonderful thing to do. -Sophia Berger
Traveling Tutus is an excellent organization that is making a visible change in the dance world by upcycling costumes that may not otherwise be re-used. As a dance parent for over 12 years, it is heartbreaking for me to see perfectly good costumes sit in a closet somewhere, when they are still in perfect condition. We looked online for years to find ways to re-use them or sell them, and eventually found Traveling Tutus and their ambassador program. My daughter is proud to be the first Canadian Ambassador and my younger daughter will likely follow suit.
Traveling Tutus is making a difference in the lives of many young dancers and also allowing teen dancers a chance to do volunteer work in an arena that they already love.
I am a traveling tutus ambassador this year and have love making a difference in the dancers lives that we help!!
It is my first year working as an Ambassador for Traveling Tutus, and I couldn't be prouder to be affiliated with them! I've been dancing since I was 2, and to be able to share that same love of dance and give opportunities to kids that might not have them is invaluable. I hope to be able to grow awareness to Traveling Tutus and continue to make a difference in the lives of others. My studio, Fusion Dance Academy, in Dover, NH, has recently become a business partner and I'm excited for our future together! Kelsey Jacobsen
Traveling Tutus is absolutely fabulous! You can really tell that they care for dancers and children around the world. They are so welcoming to everyone and want to make a difference. It's been an honor to be a Ambassador with them and I can't wait to see what's next for them!
Hi, I'm Catie Mae Carey, founder of Second.Chance.Dance. I was recently accepted to be a Studio Ambassador for Traveling Tutus, Inc and I'm very excited about this opportunity. I started my organization in the 8th grade, as a dance costume donation community to help other dancers and dance studios have access to gently and barely-used dance costumes. I am currently packaging and organizing beautiful ballet and hip hop costumes to ship to Traveling Tutus Inc. and my dance teammates are going to be helping me all this month. I think this organization is amazing and I can't wait to see what the future holds for me, and my organization to partner with Traveling Tutus Inc.

Traveling Tutus has an amazing mission statement. We have two children's homes in Thailand and in Ghana. Global Servants home, House of Grace Thailand, has over 100 girls. Traveling Tutus always pays for shipping! They give our children so much joy and blessing, asking nothing in return. I am so grateful for an organization like this!!! They are trustworthy, organized and doing everything with a good heart. They always send the right sizes and items requested (absolutely beautiful quality items). I would dare to say that you could not find a FOR-profit business that is run as smoothly as this ministry. So grateful for their generous hearts and their continued strive for excellence!
Jenna and Traveling Tutus went above and beyond for my dancers! We were able to get costumes for 25 dancers. When shipping would take too long, Jenna personally delivered them. I love Traveling Tutus!
I had started doing a ballet camp in an orphanage in Port Au Prince Haiti and had been working with Bloch dancewear buying close outs on leotards and shoes. I made dance skirts from scarves for our performance. It was a great success and I continued on with Project Grace and added yoga to the camp. We made makeshift tutus from tulle, scrambled for supplies every year, and depended on a woman at Bloch to work with us for close outs. After a particularly bad year financially, I could no longer purchase supplies I needed. Ms. Hippelman from Bloch contacted me and told me she gave my name to an organization called Traveling Tutus that supplied ballet shoes, tights, costumes, etc. to organizations and orphanages that were teaching dance. I thought it was too good to be true and was flabbergasted. I figured it was going to still be something I could not afford. When I spoke to Jenna, the founder, and she said it was all free, I could have anything I want, and did I also want tap shoes, I just cried. The kids we teach are in orphanages, or poor communities in Haiti, live communally, or in makeshift houses. The dance experience is one they would never have available to them. We do classes as authentically as we can to a dance school class in the states. When I pulled out bags of costumes the first time and fitted the girls and boys ( and my teachers) it was one of the best days and most fun for all of us. The team that was helping that week were not all dance teachers. I outfitted them and our translators and we all climbed in the back of a pick up truck to headed to the orphanage for performance day. The children started to get undressed after our performance and we're giving back the costumes. When I told them they were a gift from Traveling Tutus, they looked very puzzled. When I got the translator to make them understand, there were smiles and hugs and "merci, merci, merci". it may sound silly in the grand scheme of things, but the simple gift of dance and a beautiful costume is worth a million dollars worth of smiles.
Thank you Traveling Tutus
I love what joy and delight Travelling Tutus donations of fun bright dance wear/costume brings to the heart and face of a survivor of sexual exploitation and trafficking. These young girls aged 6 - 16 years dress up and twirl and feel beautiful. It is an important part of their healing and restoration of childlike behaviour, fun, laughter and innocence.
My daughter has been a dancer for 10 years. I personally know how dance empowers my daughter! She is not only physically fit, she has gained the grace and confidence to perform on stage at competitions. We donated 9 of her former dance costumes to Traveling Tutus. We know how wonderful dance has been for Lianna and we are filled with joy when we see the photos posted by Traveling Tutus of little dancers wearing the donated dance wear. Our favorite photos are those of children in orphanages since Lianna began her life in an orphanage.
I teach dance for free in a tiny community in Mexico. Traveling Tutus sent me everything I needed to round out my supply of dance attire for my students. They are also working with me to do costumes for our Nutcracker we hope to put on in December. In an area where the student could never afford the classes let alone the proper attire this means the world to both me and my students. One cannot underestimate the need for proper dance attire. Not only can I now see their lines properly making it safer for my students to learn proper technique but they feel like dancers now as well. They sent us everything free of charge, in a timely manner, much of it new and all of it in excellent shape. They are helpful, kind and have a super great ministry set up that works well. It may seem inconsequential to some but know that this ministry makes a huge difference in children's lives. For places without dance schools they give children a chance to feel lovely and dream about being a ballerina. Giving a child a dream and a gift like that is without measure. For places with schools like mine they give these students a chance to change their lives. Both the adults and children that I teach have had their lives changed because they have the opportunity to dance and feel comfortable in attire that fits and is safe and makes them feel beautiful. This is truly and amazing organization with an amazing world view changing lives for the better.
A fantastic organization that helps give children the opportunity to fully enjoy the art of dance. Jenna is passionate, giving, and a wonderful role model for young dancers everywhere. Boca Dance Studio and ProAm Dance Studio in Florida, love Traveling Tutus Inc.!
This organization is the ultimate pay-forward organization I know! It is simply the best! It provides the dream of dance to so many!
My daughter danced throughout her elementary years accumulating many costumes. Donating these beautiful barely worn outfits to a worthy cause proved almost impossible until I found Traveling Tutus. What a great idea, and a worthy cause, providing a mechanism for the donation of beautiful dance costumes and dance wear to others who otherwise may not have the chance to experience the joy of dance to the fullest. Great Work Jenna Johnston for finding a creative way to share your passion of dance around the world.
They deliver gently used dancewear to needy children around the world so they can feel special when they dance.
Every year I create a dance for a cause. In the past we have done disability, autism, homeless and this year we did recycle. Our costumes were all made from recycled material. We always have a project that goes with our dance for a cause. I saw an ad for Traveling Tutu's and KNEW THIS WAS IT! I began to gather items for donation. Since I am a studio owner/choregrapher and I work with special needs many people give me their costumes when they clean out their closets. The first box was more like a test run to make sure I had the right address. It was received with love and fanfare. A photo taken and a FB post! The second box I took time to pack with love and attention. Sending amazing costumes that I knew would be appreciated. I will be sending one more big box and then hopefully encourage everybody I know to do the same. All messages back and forth were answered quickly and you can read the passion for this project between the lines. The story of the gymnastic shoes was so cool. They found another organization to benefit from donations given to them ! I love it that my costumes that my students and own children (who are now grown up) wore are now being given to new dancers who will appreciate them even more! An amazing idea! I wish I could be on location when those dancers try them on for the first time. Some of our costumes were designed and made by a special seamstress who always said every dancer should look amazing when they step out on stage regardless of talent. How cool her costumes are now being used again with love instead of sitting in a box! I hope this organization grows and grows. I hope that people everywhere will start recycling their costume closets and share the "dance" with the students who deserve to look beautiful and FEEL AMAZING! I am so blessed to have found TRaveling Tutu's!
Traveling Tutus is every little girls dream! Every little dreams of looking like a princess and floating through the air as she dances. Traveling Tutus brings this reality to children who normally would not have the opportunity to wear sparkling leotards and tights. They take the items that have been worn and loved by dance students here in the US and ship them around the world so that other children can feel special.
This nonprofit took a simple idea and has made it work. They don't have alot of staff, just alot of donors and volunteers that make it work. They give American girls a way to impact the lives of other children, bringing happiness to both the giver and the girls who receive the gifts!
