Rating: 5

Save A Forgotten Equine has developed a rescue model that thrives on transparency and allows volunteers, donors and others who may simply follow from afar to join in a community effort. Key decisions are made by a board of directors in a fiscally responsible manner, training is emphasized over warehousing, and follow-up visits on adopted horses, along with a "return policy," protects the horses from getting seriously off-track again. Best of all, participating connects you to other caring individuals throughout the horse community.

S.A.F.E does a good job of providing transitional care for horses in need; provides good vet & farrier care, training and screening of potential adoptors. They seem to have be transparent about accounting for donated funds.
