This was my first ever attendance, kinda a shock at first not realizing what to expect however I had a great partner and made it throughout the event, Glad i was part of it.
The Reel American Heroes Foundation is by far the best therapy I have encountered since my medical retirement from the USAF in 2011. Not only did the RAHF provide a day of therapy through fishing, they ensured that it could continue for many years to follow. This was not only accomplished by providing gear and tackle to every US Military Veteran in attendance, but also through the wonderful paring of service members with anglers; eager to share their priceless knowledge of angling techniques. The therapeutic benefits of this one day are able carry on due to the commitment of the RAHF. The RAHF also made clear its intent to accommodate any injury a Veteran has received during their time in service, leaving no man or woman behind. Before attending this event I viewed the RAHF as just another non-profit organization, but it honestly felt more like a family; aiding in my recovery and that of all Veterans. No longer do I have to deal with the limitations of my injury from military service in Iraq. I now have an escape and new found hope thanks to the Reel American Heroes Foundation.
I am a disabled Army vet who was blessed to be able to participate in the Potomac river event for the first time this year. Fishing is one of the only things that I can truly still enjoy and there is nothing like a day on the water. In my opinion this organization has is the perfect model for how to get our wounded warriors and vets some very therapeutic time on the water. I thank Reel Americans Heroes Foundation for what they do and pray that you continue to grow to help serve more.
My name is Dave, I volunteered for the Potomac river fishing event. This was amassing as There were both Fishing celebrities and American Heroes. It was 1 touching event. To see the excitement of the veterans before and while the pairings took place was unbelievable. After the fishing part of the event was over and everyone started to eat the Talk about their fishing day was incredible. The smiles and Joy were something to see on the faces of the veterans and volunteers for that matter. When they gave out the awards To see how happy everyone was for the guys who were the top 5. After the awards there was thanks to everyone. A very touching time was when CPL. Christian Brown Took The mike and thanked everyone on behalf of all the veterans, for the help and what it meant to him and the other veterans. He talked about how the tackle they get keeps there spirits up because it gives them something to play with and look forward to using. He also talked about how events like this helps take their minds off the struggles of recovery. He talked about Him and his buddy Mike staying up late talking fishing and making fishing jigs to use the next day. I can't wait for next year.
I cannot tell you just how important this Organization is to wounded warriors all over the Untied States. Reel American Heroes Foundation and Ronald DeFreitas touches the hearts and minds of wounded members and veterans of the armed forces. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and I met Ron through Facebook. He invited me up to participate in this event and he paid for all my expenses once there. This is one of, if not the, best organization out there.
Their Annual event that I attended had the best BBQ I had ever had donated by Billiken's BBQ, had the President of Lew's fishing who generously gave each one of us a free Lew's American Rod and Reel combo. There were several Bassmaster Elite Series professional anglers there as well. It was an amazing event that touched and helped so many of us.
Every day, the organization touches the lives of those at Walter Reed hospital and if not for this organization, I am not sure what those wounded up there would do to cope.
Thank you to Ronald DeFreitas, his family, and all the volunteers. You all deserve the best that God can provide to you. I love each and every one of you.
I was offered the opportunity to participate in Reel American Heroes annual fishing tournament and was blown away by how well I was treated by them. We were treated to a day of fishing with local pros who took us out on their boat and showed us the best fishing holes in the area. When we arrived we were given brand new Lews rods and reels and a tackle box full of gear. After fishing all day were treated to an excellent BBQ dinner. It was truly a great experience to be around other veterans and to have so something to look forward to. All of the volunteers did a great job, this really is a first class organization.
I am a medically retired Army Captain and I was recently offered the opportunity to go on a duck hunting excursion with Reel American Heroes on January 14th, 2014. The hunt was very well planned and executed by a number of volunteers who started the day setting up at 2:00 a.m. They worked extremely hard to make sure that we were taken care of and that we had every opportunity to have a great hunt. We were joined on the hunt by the Game Warden of the County and were sent off in the morning by one of the local Congressmen. We ended the day with a feast at one of the local BBQ restaurants; all of the food was excellent and it was all provided for free to the veterans. It was truly a great experience to be around fellow wounded veterans and to interact with nature. I served two separate tours in Baghdad, Iraq and since getting back the outdoors have become my sanctuary. Organizations like this one have given me something to look forward to and I can't say enough about the joy they are bringing to veterans like myself.
Billiken's BBQ has supported this organization for 2 years now. We have watched many brave men and women enjoy themselves and gain friends and an interest in the out doors that helps bring them smiles and much to look forward too. The Families and soldiers alike find much joy from this organization.
RAHF is a fantastic organization with a fantastic mission, to help wounded veterans
I would like to start by saying that RAHF is truly amazing. This was my second year volunteering and what Ron and his family does for our Warriors is beyond words. It is an honor to be able to give my time to help such an esteemed organization ensure our Warriors have a day they will remember forever.
What I like about RAHF is that it is truly 100% volunteer and the donations received go into making this event a spectacular event. I have participated in other non-profit organization events only to find that a small percentage of the donations actually made it to the individuals in need. This organization truly gives back 100%.
Fantastic organization with a fantastic mission and objective. Taking our wounded troops fishing can be life-changing and uplifting for them, and I know it has a profound effect on all involved.
Keep up the great work RAHF!!!
The Reel American Heroes Foundation is the best organization I have ever volunteered for. It seems every year the staffs hard work pays off. Not only is the event good for the warriors but the volunteers as well. As long as they continue to have the events I will be attending.
Every year it seems that this organization is getting better. I have been a volunteer every year and will continue to support them however I can. This organization has not only given a lot of veterans the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors but it has given volunteers a great opportunity to spend time with a vet to put a smile on their faces and memories in their hearts. RAHF staff has always been professional and will make you feel welcome. I'm sure they will continue to do an outstanding job.
You risk your life in a another country to preserve the freedoms all of us in America enjoy and all of a sudden your are seriously injured. You are sent to a hospital away from your family and friends and spend months receiving treatment for what ever your injuries are. What do you look forward to? Another day in a 20x20 room !
Reel American Hero's foundation brings togather profession and well known local anglers, shore based volunteers and companies to provide a day on the water and competition to those who have served or country so bravely and gives then something to look forward to all year.
I have travelled as much as six hours from home and spent hundreds of dollars to volunteer my boat, expertise and time to these brave men and women. I have fished all over the country and fish several venues and the RAHF is my favorite tournament of the year. It is so professionally done.
Ron and his group are to be commended for their dedication and personal sacrifice that they so willing give to these warriors.
A first class operation, the time and energy that goes into this orginization is exceeded by none. I have been a part of this event for the last two years, both as a sponsor and a volunteer, the growth and participant enthusiasm in incredible. Seeing the veterans that are involved in this event having as much fun as they have and the positive feed back from them for what this event does for them is incredible. Ron and his group of volunteers do an outstanding job and my hats off to them for all their efforts.
Taking wounded vets out fishing, great time all around!
Totally awesome experience. I have participated in many charitable events. The Reel American Heroes Foundation Bass Tournament held at Hope Springs Marina, in Stafford, Virginia this year was one that I have committed to returning to next year. The organization went above and beyond to ensure that America's warriors had the best possible time on the water. The professional Elite Series Angler who attended (Tim Horton, Shaw Grigsby, and John Crew to name a few) went out of they way to meet every warrior they could. The Reel American Heroes volunteers and leadership left no stone unturned to accommodate everyone. You had to be there...Awesome. Thank you Reel American Heroes Foundation for letting me be apart of something very special. See you next year.
I had never volunteered for anything like this before but after working with this organization they can call on me anytime they want & I would be proud to help.
This is one of the greatest events and charities I have personally worked with.
I am a Wounded Warrior who is fortunate enough to have the means to volunteer my boat and time to this foundation. I believe that it truly helps easy the pain of our Military going through tough times of healing and recovery. The time on the water with all of the staff and volunteers help clear the mind and relax even if it just for a day. I will be donating my time and ear for more to come. Ron has a great foundation with the help of a great team. Thanks for all you do.
It was an honor to spend the day with someone who has made so many sacrifices for this country. This was a very organized and well run event and a first class organization.
I had the most wonderful experience as a boater that I ever had. I was honored to take a HEROE out fishing for the day. It is something I will never forget. I look forward to next year. Words can not explain this organizations commitment to our heroes. They go way beyond anybody's expectations. There is not a better foundation than Reel American Heroes.
This is one of the greatest foundations I have had the opportunity to volunteer for. I enjoyed being able to be a part of this wonderful event that provides a service for our Veterans. It was an extremely emotional day watching those men and women being given the opportunity to fish and the thrill of watching them return with the fish they caught that day. I salute those that gave their time to give us the freedom we have and salute those that volunteered their equipment, talents, and time to help those that deserve helping. I am proud to be an American and proud to be given the opportunity to volunteer for organization that shows their patronage. I fell this organization is an American Hero!!
This is an awesome organization and such a great idea and way for warriors to have some nice R&R time where they can get away from worrying about appointments or rehabilitation. They get to go out and enjoy a day on the lake fishing with one of the charitable boaters and hopefully catch a fish or two. The smiles on the warriors faces is absolutely priceless.
I work with someone who volunteers for this group. She and her husband commit their boat, pay for their own gas, bring food, etc...It is a labor of love and they are so dedicated to these American Heroes. As the wife of an Army Veteran, with 3 brother-in-laws in the service, I am so thankful for this group and what they do!
This is an awesome organization. The commitment of this organization is unmatched. Come to an event and see for yourself.
I heard about Reel American Heroes Foundation this past spring and found the services they provide very exciting. I hoped to be able to join them this summer and was fortunate enough to do so on 2 August.
I have been trying exposure therapy activities to help with anxiety and so far fishing is the only thing which has really worked for me. Reel American Heroes Foundation provides this kind of experience for veterans. They provided a rod and reel and a fully stocked tackle box when I arrived at the tournament and they were mine to keep at the end of the day!
I had the opportunity to bond with other veterans, learn from skilled anglers, meet new people, and spend time outdoors away from all of life's daily stressors. I got to feel "normal," if only for a few hours.
I cannot put a price on the value of this experience and my words cannot do the experience justice. There are so many sponsors and volunteers that come together to make this happen. I hope that this organization is around for a long time so that other veterans can take advantage of this great opportunity!
This foundation is FIRST CLASS. After the boats & warriors departed, a wounded warrior arrived late from Ga. His car broke down and he overslept for departure time. In arriving late, he apologized profusely for his tardiness. This foundation phoned a boater already on the water and asked them to return for him and he had a successful day fishing on the water.......RAHF never leaves a wounded warrior behind.
Went out and help setup and help fishermen get boats in water . It was great seeing how all involved in this got to help our vets get out and have some great relaxing fun .
What this organization does for our veterans and the fishermen spending time with far exceeds a first class experience. This organization is totally dedicated to providing our veterans with assistance, care and an exceptional time spent with other fishermen and women, both military and civilian
To think that is an a group of people and volunteers that came together to make an organization like this leaves me speech less. I nearly brings a tear to my eye to see that there are individuals that care about the men and women that serve our country the way that they do.
My family volunteers time to cater the annual fishing tournament. We would do anything for Ron, his family, and his foundation because his passion is inspiring and his cause is noble. Participating in a fishing tournament might seem insignificant to most, but what it means to this group of warriors and their families is much bigger. This organization not only aims to better the lives of wounded warriors, but it also inspires others to give back or reach out in different ways.
Reel American hero's is an amazing organization. The excitement on the war heros faces is life changing for all involved. To know that there is at least one day of excitement and enjoyment. Ron has done a great job in helping our wounded warriors see that life is still great and we thank them for there sacrifice. Thanks for a great year. Can't wait for next year!
Reel American Heroes is not only an "annual" recreational therapy event for our Wounded Heroes, it is a place you make authentic, life long friends. The genuine care, support and love for those who protect the very freedoms we live with is heart warming. It is one of the most touching events I have been privileged to support. This year, 2014 is the first I have been involved, it will not be my last as I look forward to many, many more years doing so. I encourage anyone who is considering donating to just do it! Donate your time, your finance...anything you can because it is so appreciated and provides such an amazing day to show how much we care and appreciate those who serve & protect us so unconditionally. Ron, the director is "one HUGE HEART" and there is NO large overhead, it is 100% all volunteer. The children that volunteer are incredible! Their hearts for this cause work effortlessly to make the day the best it can possibly be.
RAHF runs an annual fishing tournament where volunteer boat owners take Veteran and Wounded United States Service members fishing for day as parrt of a friendly Tournament. This time provides our service men and women with an oppurtunity many of them would otherwise never experience. The RAHF provides each Military participant with numerous donated items such as a rod and reel, tackle box full of tackle, tshirts, other items and privides all participants with breakfast and lunch. Numerous other volunteers assist with the organization of the event and tournament operations.
The 4th annual event was the largest event I have seen in a few years, drawing numerous repeat volunteers, and veterans.
the organizers do a tremendous job in organizing the event, and providing an atmosphere second only to Progessional Tournaments such as B.A.S.S and FLW. The veterans truly enjoy the experience, thw recognition of their service, and being in the "spotlight". All services are sypported, reguardless of the level of injuries of the service members.
Truly, one of the greatest organizations in the country. 100%of dinatiins goes into the program; no board salaries, or other uses of donations.
Due to the professional manner in which this is run, 100's of people attend each year and the program continues to experience growth from year to year.
A wonderful way to give back to our heroes! Run with grace and integrity!
For 3 years now we have driven 10 hours to go and volunteer our time at this event. Ron DeFreitas is so passionate about this cause, his dream: to replace our soldiers painful memories with good ones. Not only does Ron dedicate his time and sets up a table at any place that allows him to collect donations, but just by listening to him you know he will never grow tired of it and makes sure that every penny collected and raised is used towards this event. He is not alone, his good friends Dave, Nelson and George share his dream. This Foundation puts together a fishing tournament like no other. Every warrior gets his own fishing pole and tackle box. See to this Foundation it is not enough to give our heroes a new memory with a fun day of fishing, but they want them to continue on and keep on building those good memories with lots more of those fishing tales. At the end of the day when our now newly converted anglers come ashore their smiles go from ear to ear and their competitive personalities kick in and it becomes contagious to the rest of us. Their disability does not affect their ability to win, it is all about the luck and skill of the angler. Volunteering or in anyway being part of this event and this cause is by far my most selfish act, the way it makes me feel is so addicting, I will never be able to put into words, I cry and I laugh at the same time and in the words of one of our heroes the anticipation alone from the day before makes them forget of all that they have to deal with on daily basis such as scheduled appointments and even self pity. I see among new faces the same faces of years before and I know that they too can feel on this day that same accomplished feeling that I believe this Foundation has made me addicted to. This is my favorite charity, this is the charity that I believe in the most, this is the charity that I know gives it all to our heroes. And if you know me, then I have for sure told you all about it and know that this year I have so much more to tell you about, for I just went to the 4th event, our 3rd, and this year I met a hero named Christian Brown who to me became the voice of the silent. He spoke lightly of some of their pain and in the same sentence spoke of happiness, the happiness that the Reel American Heroes Foundation brings to them. To the Reel American Heroes Foundation I Thank you for giving importance to our heroes that mean so much to us. We love and appreciate them, this Foundation gives us a chance to show them a little bit of that love.
The staff does an outstanding job each year putting this event together. It is very well organized and everyone works together to make sure the veterans are well equipped and enjoy a good day out on the water. I enjoy fishing with the foundation each year.
I really appreciate the opportunity to have fished in this tournament and spent time with the amazing volunteers. I was matched up with a professional angler and had a chance to learn while having a great time catching fish. Everyone was extremely friendly and appreciative to us veterans. I hope that every wounded warrior gets a chance to meet these people and take part in the therapeutic and heartwarming experience.
These guys do an amazing job putting on a Bass Fishing Tournament for out Hero's. I love being apart of it. I look forward to this event the most every year.
I was introduced to this organization last year when my husband was a participant in the tournament for the first time. The amazing treatment that both he and all of the other veterans received was exactly what our veterans deserve. At the event all veterans are put above everyone else as they should be and are treated with respect and great-fullness for their sacrifices. One thing I would like to point out about this organization is their ability to recognize all veterans and not just those wounded in Combat like many organizations do. I have a family friend who had mentioned a few weeks before the tournament that he had been turned away from multiple events because although he is severely disabled and is a veteran who was wounded during service, he was not wounded during combat. I suggested he try this event and the smile on his face at the end of the day after the event was a reward in itself. This organization doesn't turn anyone away and treats all veterans the way they truly deserve. Another amazing point about this organization is they go out of their way to accommodate every veteran no matter their circumstances to get them back out on the water. I had the opportunity to volunteer this year and I have always been around the military and exposed to the life, but some of the volunteers had not and the humbling experience serving our vets was such positive contribution to our local society. This organization brings veterans and local residents together with the love of fishing to show our veterans that we are here for them and we appreciate them at a time when they may feel very under appreciated for their sacrifices.
I had a great time. My second year participating. I love taking the Warriors out and talking with them. This is true ministry for me. The Reel American Heroes Foundation tournament is a lot of fun for everyone. I can't wait till next year.
As a recreation therapist working with service members, I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Reel American Heroes Foundation this year in getting some of my service members into their annual fishing tournament. I am amazed at the work they do for our service members and give back by providing recreation activities. I have personally seen the difference they make in wounded warriors lives by allowing them to regain confidence, interest and the ability to do various activities they may have not been able to due to various reasons. I will continue to do all I can from my end to support this foundation!
Amazing non-profit organization who gives back to those who have selfishly given to us. I am honored and proud to have witnessed such humanity on both the foundation and our heroes!!!
I am a 100% Total and Permanent Disabled Combat Veteran, and Medically Retired from the Federal Government GS-12. I am not able to drive and because of my condition I need assistance, at the very least someone to help me if I have a medical issue, so I have to be with someone to be able to enjoy normal recreational opportunities. I attended my first Reel American Heroes tournament last year and returned for a second time this year 2014. I was absolutely blown away both times at how many people Volunteered and Sponsored this event, 6 Bass Pros volunteered their time to fish with us, I am not sure exactly how many, but I think it was at least 60 bass boats and their Volunteer Owners drove from 15 different states to make this event possible, not to mention the countless number of Volunteers, even 10 youngsters, (one of which gave up a chance to go to the Steelers training camp to volunteer his time to help a Warrior), the amount of money and time that it takes to coordinate and provide over 60 Warriors the best recreational therapy we could ever get, truly a day we will always remember as one of the best days of our lives was truly inspiring and brought me to tears of joy. But one of the most inspiring acts was when they showed us a fishing pole prototype device that would provide the capability for a Wounded Warrior missing an arm, the ability to fish again, and they want to make sure Wounded Warriors across the Country, especially that need this device, have this opportunity to fish again is truly inspiring and humbling how much they truly care for us. I had not been fishing for over ten years since OEF 2001, and I had never been on a bass boat, and I did not have a fishing pole or tackle box since I had left home in 1994, Reel American Heroes made that all possible and restored my love of fishing and brought me out of a year long depression after losing my government job to medical retirement and almost losing my wife to pneumonia and kidney failure, RAHF helped me feel alive again and encouraged me to fish for recreational therapy. When I returned this year, as many fellow Warriors did, I heard from one Warrior that he cannot wait to reconnect with his children through fishing, several other Warriors including myself will be donating the fishing pole and fully stocked tackle box we received again this year to another Wounded Warrior who were not able to make it to the event for medical or family reasons. So not only is RAHF helping the Warriors who attend the event, it also helps other Warriors and their Families who were not able to make the event. Again, a big thanks to RAHF and all of the Volunteers and Sponsors for all that you did for me and my fellow Wounded Warriors, you truly are a FIVE Star Charity!
I am a disabled veteran with 30 years service in the Marine Corps and have been retired over ten years now. This year (2014) was the second year that I participated in the Reel American Heroes Bass Tournament at Hope Springs Marina in Stafford, Virginia. I don't have the words to fully convey what a fantastic organization this is. The folks who organize and execute the event are sincerely dedicated to honoring veterans, and you can't miss their enthusiasm. Literally everyone, even the volunteers, seemed overjoyed to be providing the event to us. The whole atmosphere was amazing. Thanks.
I am an active duty army soldier. I had the amazing experience of being able to attend an event today. This group is simply put AMAZING. I cannot thank them so much for the trip today.
My husband, a wounded soldier, and I stumbled across this organization by accident while fishing at Ft. Belvoir 4 years ago. It's one of the most heart warming experiences we have had. The organization, volunteers and boaters make it so special for us. There is nothing like it anywhere we have found. If you have never signed up you will not regret it. We moved to North Carolina last year and were so thrilled that they have the event here also and we participated today. It was fantastic. Such wonderful people and stories. Brings you to happy tears. Thank you Real American Hereos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was challenge through FB to do the cold water challenge. My husband served in the military for 9 yrs. We have several friends and family members still serving to this day. I wanted to show appreciation to all the ones whom have served or is still serving. Thank you guys for everything you do!!!!!!
I participated in one of their events last year. To say it was amazing would be a understatement. These guys do an outstanding job. Veterans everywhere should sign up to participate.
I think Real American Hero's Foundation is a wonderful organization. My wife found them and got me started with them. I had been medically retired a short while after my tour in Afghanistan, a much shorter time than I was planning to serve. I wasn't ready to stop serving I wanted to continue, pretty sure a big part of me always will. How ever what is done is done. I came home with severe ptsd, my back and knee messed up among some other things. Pretty much I just wanted to stay in my comfort zone and mostly still do sometimes. At that time though I didn't have anything I wanted to get out to go do. I don't want to be around large crowds or people or in the city. My wife knew I use to enjoy the outdoors including fishing. So when I found out about these guys and this great service they had been so willing to provide for me and for all my brothers and sisters in arms, I thought it was so great. I know how much it has helped me when I need to just get out and relax to have the option to get out and go fish. They made this possible by making sure I had the gear to do so when there wasn't any way for me to afford to do it for my self. They made sure I had my fishing license for the whole year also, as well as my wife's. They even made sure she and our son had a pole. They paired me up with a great man and fisherman. Tony A. was the volunteer they picked to take me out for my day of fishing. Knowing how I was about getting out and how my wife has to drive me, and helps me even with my nerves. Tony said come right on along so she even came with us. It was a bit trying to meet someone new and to be out. But I could tell Tony was a great guy and I would be okay with him. I have to say that has stood true, we still get to go out fishing together from time to time. I may just be one client one guy, but ALL that they have done for me as made so much difference. I think they are doing a fantastic job and that so many wounded warriors are just as grateful as I am. I've already talked with my wife about making donations to the foundation as much as we can when our money straightens out and she agrees its a great cause.
I chose to post as a general member of the public because the real client in my experience is my husband. How ever I must say they did not stop there.
When I found Reel American Hero's Foundation it sounded so wonderful so I put in for my husband. He had served in Afghanistan and shortly after coming back he was medically retired. He had and still has trouble with getting out and doing things. I knew though that if anything would make him happy and get him out a little it would be the outdoors. Before joining the Army my husband use to enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking anything outdoors. A lot of that is a bit rough on him now, but I just knew fishing would be a great choice. Thanks to Ron DeFreitas and the Real American Hero's Foundation that became a reality.
Not only did they take the time and the resources to make it possible, they even made it personal. Ron spoke with me about my husband and what I thought he would enjoy, he set him up with a great volunteer to take him out for his first trip, Tony A.
Now above I mentioned how they didn't stop with just making sure my husband received this great therapeutic opportunity. They also made sure that he could continue to enjoy fishing even as a family with myself and our son.
Tony A. came to meet my husband and set up a good time for the fishing trip. He brought everything Ron and the foundation gathered for him. They made sure we each had our own pole. They made sure our sons was proper size for him, and even asked about characters he liked and chose one he liked. They made sure my husband had a tackle box and that it had plenty of fishing tackle and gear in it. They still didn't stop there, they made sure that he and I as well would have our fishing licenses. Among more.
He looked so relaxed out on the water the day Tony took the two of us out on his boat. I could really tell how much it really meant to him. Fishing has been such a great release and relaxation tool for him, he enjoys it so much.
This is such an amazing foundation and so many wonderful people are found with in it. Ron has checked in just to see how my husband is doing from time to time and wish him well. My husband and Tony still continue to get together sometimes and go fishing. I really can't say just how great everyone is and all the help they have given. I can't speak for everyone, but if they have made their clients half as happy as they made my husband I would imagine they are achieving even more than they thought they could.
Tim has always been a dedicated supporter of all of our American troops. We attended our first event last year to film an episode of Timmy Horton Outdoors. It was very rewarding to be able to attend such an event. The comradery of all the soldiers as they were able to spend a fun day out on the water was an experience all will sure remember and cherish, as I know I will. Thank you Ron for the invitation and a HUGE thank you to all our GREAT AMERICAN HEREOS! We can never repay you for all your sacrifices for our freedom.
It's non-profit organizations such as the Reel American Heroes Foundation that we as a company are proud to support. Wiley X, Inc., Veteran founded, has a long 25+ year history with the Military and supporting foundations like RAHF is a great way to give back to those men and women, and their families, who have served our country. RAHF is making a real difference for our wounded warriors and to see the positive impacts and accomplishments they continue to make is truly fantastic and something we're honored to support.
My name is John Pelinski and I'm a retired US ARMY SFC and I been to these tournaments and fully back them up and I'm returning there this August again to get these disabled vets out and on our boats is just a miracle and a God lifting experience Ronald the founder is the most dedicated individual ihave ever known this is his hole mission to get these vets some recreational therapy and us boaters take them out at our expense to try and pay them back for giving their all for us. Not only is there us small pro fishermen but the big time ones join us as well like Timmy Horton and Paul Elias plus other Pro Staffs as well all the awards are all 100r donated for the vets. ITS ALL ABOUT THE DISABLED VETS. God bless
Never have I been a part of a group so generous and dedicated to give back as much as possible to our soldiers. I can say with 100% confidence that I believe ever penny goes to the soldier. I see how hard the people at Reel American Heroes works and it inspires me to give what I can. Even more, I see the smiles on the faces of the soldiers after a day on the water. Sometimes with huge fish in their hands, sometimes not. Regardless, they were given an experience they will never forget and I don't think anyone else but Reel American Heroes could do that.
My company is happy to donate to Reel American Heroes as I know that upwards of 95% of my donation is used to benefit our servicemen. It is nice to donate to an organization that is not spending its money on administrative and overhead expenses. I am happy to be able to contribute for the benefit of these servicemen that give so much for our country.
Many of us take our freedoms for granted. Our military men and women volunteer to make the ultimate sacrifices up to and including giving their lives to protect those freedoms we all enjoy. Giving back to those soldiers who have suffered through a loss of any kind is a privilege and honor.
The Reel American Heroes Foundation hosts a wonderful event that brings local and national bass fishing personalities to the Potomac River to offer a day in the outdoors for our wounded soldiers. It offers a way for these men and women that have sacrificed so much an opportunity to step away from the hospitals and rehab facilities to enjoy the great outdoors. The Reel American Heroes Foundation makes this possible through their tireless dedicated efforts to make this one of the best events of it's kind.
Smiles from our veterans are priceless. This organization has successfully brought many vets together with a host of professionals and volunteers. My number one charity to give something back to the soldiers of America. No matter how many limbs they have left on thier body, they will smile and get a heartfelt thank you from this organization. God bless Reel American Heros Foundation for the true meaning of giving back.
This is one organization I put my money on. There is nothing like the escape of outdoor fishing for a veteran of war to feel free. Loss of limbs is a casualty that needs to be overcome with ability to persue a fresh start or realize an old passion is still possible. This nonprofit goes the extra mile to ensure our disabled and enabled vets get out there and have an experience of commradare with like minded people who care and that our vets have a fulfilling life. Fish on!
This organization does a fantastic job at giving back to those who have given so much to help this nation! It's amazing how much they do with tremendous devotion and dedication. Check it out and you will be greatly impressed!
I became associated with RAHF a couple years ago. I volunteered to take a wounded vet out on a fishing trip.I had no idea what to expect. This organization is really an asset to wounded vets. The vet I took fishing was in bad shape mentaly. He has ptsd bad. After our trip he said the recreational therapy the trip provided was a life saver for him. him and I have been on many trips since and have built a life long relationship. RAHF is a first class org. They really care about helping these vets. They supplyed the vet with fishing tackle and other things at no cost. I really think RAHF changes lives
Even though I live in Arkansas Ron Defrietas does a outstanding job. I do wish I lived closer so I could be more active in this great organization. Keep up the great work Ron I hope someday I can be active in this group.
