MHWF is top notch, hands down! I have supported this organization for many, many years and continue to constantly be impressed with this program and everyone involved. I was fortunate to be able to adopt a horse from them last year.MHWF is dedicated to the welfare of the horses and everything they do is in the best interest of the horses. They educate, rescue, rehab, evaluate, fundraise, and do everything they can to ensure the horses are cared for. The blood, sweat, and tears involved are obvious and admirable. I have looked into many animal "rescue" organizations, which I feel is the responsible thing to do if you are going to support any cause they claim to champion. The policies in place at MHWF are fair, the program is clearly effective, and they are very transparent and honest people. The dedication of everyone involved at MHWF is amazing. The amount of knowledge it takes to do what they do is overwhelming, but they do it with grace and they do it so well! Saving a horse's life is more than just giving it a pan of grain. It is evaluating the physical needs, medical needs, and mental needs of every animal that walks through the gate. It is making decisions on the horse's behalf that sometimes aren't easy to make. It is giving that horse a safe program to be a part of for the rest of it's life so that it never has to worry about ending up homeless or neglected. It is evaluating people to entrust with the horse's care. It is early mornings and late nights of endless and sometimes thankless work. It is tirelessly promoting the cause and giving a piece of yourself every single day. Thank you MHWF for being an example of what a tremendous impact an organization can have!
