I did a two months internship at JungleFriends in 2012. I became responsible for the small monkeys of Munchkinland (45 at the time). Since then, I have been volunteering regularly. Being French and spending some time in France every year, two of my French animal rights activists friends became enthused to come also as interns at JungleFriends. More want to come and help the monkeys. We now have over 200 monkeys of different species and sizes. I was impressed by JungleFriends caregivers dedication, hard work and efficiency. Everything is done for the monkeys' physical and psychological well being. A clinic and appropriate diets according to their health condition, always fresh fruit and vegetables, regular cleaning of their habitat (heating in cold days and nights), placing them together in enclosures according to friendship, toys, ladders and trees to climb, everything is done to give them the maximum of happiness after the terrible suffering or neglect they went through before being brought to JungleFriends. All my admiration and friendship for Kari Bagnall who founded the sanctuary 25 years ago.Joelle Verdier
