In-Sync Exotics is a wonderful sanctuary, providing a loving home to these beautiful cats. I always enjoy visiting the sanctuary because it warms my heart to be so close to these incredible animals. My favorite part of the visits are when the tigers are chuffing, and when the lions sing.
The sanctuary is well taken care of and it is clear that the volunteers love the animals. It is a wonderful place to educate the public - especially children - about exotic cats. In-Sync Exotics sanctuary really makes a difference in the lives of the cats and in our community.
I have visited InSnyc Exotics many times and it still amazes me every time I visit how much love and care these animals receive. I have seen some of these beautiful cats who have come to the sanctuary looking like they have little to no chance of recovering from the neglect they have experienced. But then I return a few months later and I am so happy to see the incredible changes that Vicki and her staff of volunteers have accomplished! In Sync is a true blessing to these animals!
I've visited In-Sync Exotics about a dozen times. Different times of day on different days of the week during different seasons. Aways I find kind caring people willing to share their passion with you about them providing the best care of these majestic animals.
I have been to IN-SYNC EXOTICS several times. I can't tell you how loved and well cared for these cats are! It is an amazing experience to see the cats and talk to the staff and volunteers about each one. I highly recommend supporting them in any way you can!
I have been a volunteer at In-Sync Exotics for almost 3 years now, and it has been an amazing experience! It is truly incredible to see the personalities of lions, tigers, etc are as vast and different as human personalities. The cats are so happy now, which is a miracle considering where most of them came from. The sanctuary is amazing! And it is somewhere I enjoy taking my 3 young sons to every chance I get! They have enjoyed growing up around the big cats and they have become little animal rights advocates in their preschool and elementary schools!
It breaks my heart to see the condition of the animals In-Sync Exotics rescues. Thank God for In-Sync and all of it's hard workers that love and cares for these animals. I know with out In-Sync these animals would live a short painful, miserable life. These animals at In-Sync are so beautiful, you can tell that they are so much happier to be there than where they were. The staff works really hard to see that these animals have a happy and meaningful life. I wish I could do more for them.
The people who run and volunteer at In-Sync Exotics are amazing!! They care so much about the well-being of their rescued "babies". Their hearts break at a loss, and soar in happy moments as well. They really take their duties seriously, and I think that they should be commended for the work that they do.
I began volunteering at ISE over two years ago and I know, without a doubt, that I have gotten way more from the cats than I have given. Not only have I learned from the cats, but I've learned so much from the other volunteers. The level of care these cats receive is phenomenal. Volunteers show up every day - in good weather and terrible - to clean cages, prepare food, serve food, administer meds, and so much more! The cats have so much room and get so much love! Of course, they give it right back!
The Wylie connection magazine wrote an article on Insync Exotics 3 1/2 years ago. I still have it. I wrote the volunteer coordinator an email and haven't regretted it a minute in my life ( okay maybe when I'm cleaning mohans poopy tub I'm cussing her out a little in my head :-) J/k). Vicky K. Has created a beautiful environment for these cats. The staff and volunteers do an amazing job keeping the area clean and healthy for the majestic cats. You can tell that everyone that help/works there is proud to be part of the organization and proud to be part of a great and important cause.
It has been a life changing experience and I hope it would continue to e for a long time to come. I'm excited to see the changes that are yet to come. It should be fun if they are anything like the past years. The place and people restore my faith in humanity and kindness. Thank you to all the staff, volunteers and board members.
I first became aware of In-Sync Exotics in 2010, when a co-worker volunteered at the center. I was ignorant of the extent of exotic animal abuse in this country, specifically in Texas. Care is lavished upon these magnificent felines and is customized to the need of the individual cat. They live in a clean, spacious environment and their glossy coats, clear eyes, and alert behaviour are proofs of the good stewardship provided by In-Sync Exotics. The center is a required site to see when my grandchildren visit Dallas.
I found In Sync quite by accident, and glad that I did, in 2002. Vicki K. has done wonders for these exotics cats that previously had been neglected and abused. If I remember right, it started with a cougar being left behind at a vets office that she worked at and she recieved permission to take the cougar home to care for him. Then was approved by several agencies to be able to do what In Sync does today, She has many dedicated people whom side by side aide in the day by day requirements that it takes to take care of these animals. These animals are so blessed to have this place.
I have in the past volunteered to wash bone buckets, and constantly refer people there. On facebook and on Pogo.com I am always saying go to www.insyncexotics.com to visit donate time or money if you can, or whatever you can.
I discovered In-Sync during the summer of 2008 and immediately fell in love with the place. I have always been an animal lover, so volunteering at an exotic cat sanctuary was right up my alley. Vicky K. has an amazing heart and puts her cats above anything else. I have witnessed the transformation of many cats from being in such bad shape at rescue, that it would seem they wouldn't want to live anymore. But Vicky and In-Sync gave them a reason to live and they are living out the rest of their lives with the care, love and dignity they all deserve. The sanctuary is located in a beautiful part of Wylie and has many trees shading the property. The enclosures are cleaned daily and the medical care the cats receive is top notch! It is also an educational facility, which raises awareness to the public about the plight of exotic cats in captivity. Safety is one of their upmost concerns and all of the enclosures have double chain link fences and roofs. I highly recommend In-Sync Exotics to anyone who is looking for something to do; and all of the money that is spent on admission or spent in the gift shop goes directly towards the care of the cats. The self guided tours allow visitors to tour the sanctuary at their own pace and take plenty of pictures. There are stories and pictures of each cat posted on the enclosures. Come out and visit, you will love it!
I'd heard about In-Sync Exotics Cat Sanctuary in the papers, in the local magazines and wanted to go, well I finally got the chance and WOW!!!! It's absolutely amazing. The cats are loved so much, clean cages, good food, water pools, plenty of room to enjoy, great people working there...it's so wonderful. I've now been twice, was at the birthday bash event for the cats and what a joy to see them all again, as well as some new cats...my favorite is Asha as we saw her on our first visit. So many beautiful creatures God has created and so wonderful that there is a special place to take them in and care for them and create a new loving enviornment. I love In-Sync Cat ExoticsSantuary and I want more people to know and love it. I want people to see what God has created and to help this great facility by means of funding, volunteering or whatever needs to be done to help.
The first time my family visited In-sync was approximately 8 years ago. We were amazed and the quality of care all animals were given but especially the love and concern for them. Since our first initial visit the facility has grown but the love, care and concern has not! Vicky and her group of volunteers are truly fantastic people and have no agenda for themselves which is no small feat these days. It is a humbling experience to watch them all give everything for this animals.
I first discovered In-Sync exotics through my mother and sisters who volunteer there. Mom lives very close to it and whenever I visit from Colorado going there is the first thing I want to do. I've always been an animal lover but didn't realize the severity of the captive wildlife crisis until being educated about it at In-Sync. Seeing first hand how loved and cared for these magnificent creatures are affected me greatly. The horror stories that many of these animals suffer through prior to receiving a wonderful home like In-Sync really makes you appreciate all the hard work and dedication that goes into the rescue and care of them. In fact, In-Sync so impressed me that I have been volunteering at a large, non-profit wild animal sanctuary in Colorado for almost a year now and couldn't be happier. It is very comforting to know that, while these animals would most certainly be better off still being out in the wilds, the ones in need of rescue have places like In-Sync that will take them in with loving arms and provide them a safe and nurturing home.
I started volunteering and donating to In-Sync after seeing a report about the rescue of the Leona 6. In-Sync not only provides sanctuary for these magnificent animals but they educate the public on their importance to every creature on the planet.
In-Sync Exotics is truly amazing, almost a cure for the stupidity of so many humans who selfishly exploit animal well-being for monetary profit, ego or nefarious purposes.
Each animal is rescued from sometime horrible, always pathetic environments and cared for humanely. Not like a zoo, but in a caring, more individualized environment that promotes responsibility of humans for other creatures of our Earth.
My first experience there nearly knocked me off my feet .... seeing the huge cats so closely. It' both humbling & inspiring.
When we moved into our new house across the lake from Wylie, I thought my husband was going nuts when he told me he was hearing the quiet roar of lions in the evening. Determined to prove him wrong, I went online and found In-Sync Exotics just a few miles away from us- we had to check it out! After church one Sunday, my husband, our four young kids and I loaded up in the van and set out on an adventure.
Upon arrival at In-Sync, we were pleasantly surprised by the nice gift shop and clean restroom. The entry fee was a little high, but considering all they do for these large cats, it was worth it. We left the large gift shop/registration building and strolled down the gravel walkway to the first set of enclosures.
All of the enclosures are fairly large and tall and have the chain-link cage that the cats are in and then another one surrounding the first with a walkway between the two for the workers. The enclosures were surprisingly clean and there was very little (if any) bad smells. All enclosures were shaded and some had toys for the cats to play in or large pools for them to swim in. You could tell that great care and attention is given to all of the cats.
When we got close to the first enclosure, a giant white tiger lunged towards us and let out a giant roar. We jumped back in shock and our kids wrapped themselves behind our legs. A very kind lady ran out of another building and informed us that the tiger is afraid of strollers and walkers and that we're not supposed to have them there. Needless to say, we didn't hesitate in putting the stroller away!
Besides that one intense moment where we inadvertently broke the rules and scared the kitty (but are secretly thankful it happened to us because it was a once-in-a-lifetime thing- hopefully) we loved In-Sync Exotics. The cats are large and beautiful, an amazing sight to see. It made us fear them and love them at the same time. We would love to volunteer in the future and are so proud to be a part of a community that not only cares about each other, but about creatures that can be misunderstood and feared, but definitely deserve to be respected.
Absolutely WONDERFUL Organization. When I went out there, they had just rescued some cats from Poetry. The two cougars where inside being treated for Malnutrition and Dehydration. These beautiful cats were the center of attention for the crew at In-Sync. They do such great work. I can't wait to go see them now that they are being properly cared for.
These poor felines, whose stories would break your heart, look to be in absolute heaven in their 'homes." When I visited, I was shocked to see how close you are able to get to them. It was an amazing experience to say the least.
I have been a volunteer at In-Sync for almost 6 months now and truly love working out there. It is an awesome place where people actually care about every animal. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who really wants to see big cats that are taken care of, utterly spoiled, and VERY happy. I never knew what chuffing was or that I would actually like it!
I first heard that DFW had exotic cat sanctuaries by a news story about another local sanctuary. I tried for 4 months to contact them regarding being a volunteer with no success. A friend at work told me about In-Sync Exotics and provided me with their website. Within 15 minutes I had my first interview setup! That was impressive.
I remember my first few times out thinking that maybe I was making a mistake. Maybe I really didn't want to be around exotic cats. Maybe I wasn't cut out for this kind of work anymore. (I say anymore because its alot like the farmwork I grew up doing.) Fortunately, I didn't act on those thoughts and kept showing up and doing what I was assigned.
Now two years later, I have learned so much and done so many different things I can hardly believe those earlier thoughts crossed my mind. What I love so much about In-Sync Exotics is that the cats are #1; many of the people I work with are like family. All of the cats have become family to me.
Each and every day, dishes are washed, diets prepared, enclosures scooped and washed, waters changed, medicine dispensed and various other duties performed. It's like a 5 star hotel! The expectation is that the cats live in the cleanest environment we can provide and get the best food, water and companionship as well. Thats a tall order and it happens day in and day out all for the cats benefit.
I would strongly reccommend this organization to anyone that loves animals and is willing to work to make their lives better!
I volunteered for a short period of time at In-Sync Exotics in 2009, but it provided me with a lifetime of unforgettable memories! The passion and care the staff take in caring for these majestic creatures goes above and beyond the imaginable. No shortcuts are taken to make sure the each cat lives as long and as healthy a life as is possible. Everyone should visit this place at least once to not only educate themselves on the realities of how these cats once lived and to experience the awe you'll feel when you becomes surrounded by so many beautiful creatures!
In-Sync provides cats who were formally without hope with love, hope, and so much more. I visited there for the first time not too long ago, and was amazed to see how content and happy the cats all seem. They are provided with all the play, love, food, and general care that they need - and more. Their environments are clean, well-maintained, and tailored to that cat's individual needs. These cats have come from varied backgrounds but most of them involved some level of abuse and/or neglect - how wonderful to have a place to truly call home and feel safe. Like people, animals respond to love and have their own way of recognizing when it is there or when it is not. I am touched by all that In-Sync is doing and wants to do.
In-SYNC EXOTICS.....just can't say enough good things about it!! Loving staff, the cats seem to be comfortable and cozy....they have great enclosures with lots of toys....it's not only peaceful for the cats who have been rescued...it's a peaceful place to visit....you can look into the cats eyes and see that they are happy with their surroundings.
InSync is the most wonderful non profit ever! The dedication, hard work, compassion, and high standards of everyone in this organization have served to give new lives to countless animals who would otherwise have had no chance for a happy, healthy life.
I am so glad that these cats a safe place to call home now. Each one has his or her own painful but remarkable survival story. People can be so cruel to animals, thank you In Sync for stepping up and giving these magnificent cats a forever home where they are safe, loved and cared for around the clock.
My family visited InSync for the 2012 Easter Celebration. Being animal lovers, we were thrilled to visit an organization that does so much for desperate and in-need exotics. Assuming we would only see lions and tigers, we were very impressed by the large variety of animals that had been rescued. It was a very memorable day for my family. We look forward to visiting again!
I was so taken by the story Kahn, the lion who had to be nursed back to health that I decided to help adopt him and assist with his feed expenses. In Sync has taken in so many cats that were in poor health due to neglect and cared for them in order to return them to health that it is truly amazing.
This organization deserves support from everyone.
By far the most caring sanctuary I have seen. I’ve spent 8 months now with In-Sync and still every day it amazes me more. The facility itself is set up brilliantly as to allow volunteers to access enclosures safely without ever having direct contact with the cats. The cats each have a place to call home and a playground area that is shared, everyday at some point each cats gets playground time. Cats are always well fed and happy, you can see it in their faces, they love their human companionship (tigers coming up to you and chuffing, lions with their ooo’s). It truly is amazing what owner Vicky has achieved with them and this place bein g completely unselfish and only ever has the cats best interest in mind.
.....I have known an avid supporter of In-Sync for many years...telling me stories of visits to see Tacoma....I can confirm upon my first visit that in my case, was exciting to the point of being life changing.......great cats...but most of all Vicky and company made me feel welcomed......In-Sync will always have my support for some great work...Bill Riley/Dallas
I interned at In-Sync for three months this past winter and I have to say it was the best experience of my life. Vicky and all of the volunteers there take amazing care of the cats residing there, and are truly invested in the cats welfare. The work was hard, there is no doubt of that, but being able to contribute and work with all the cats was amazing. After meeting certain requirements, I was able to participate with their Cat Companions program (sitting with a specific cat for at least 30 minutes, talking to them and keeping them company) and their Vet Training Program (working with a specific cat, with the help of another trainer, teaching movements that will help the vet access the cat easier without having to sedate the cat). They made me, an outsider from Boston, feel at home and welcomed.
I have been a volunteer at Insync Exotics for a little over two years. I stopped in to visit and find out what Insync was about and I was hooked. This is a rescue facility. Insync does NOT buy, sell or breed these exotic cats. Most of the cats come with illnesses, broken bones, and broken spirits. To see the transformation in these cats once they have had some medical attention and basic care (like a clean environment, food, water and love), is incredibly rewarding. We have had tigers 6-8 years old rescued from a breeding facility that had never even been given names. How sad is that. For a facility that is run on volunteer help and the community donations, it is extremely well run (thank you Vicky!) The grounds and animal enclosures are always clean, everyone is well trained for the safety of themselves and the cats, and the animals are now living a much more fulfilling life. There is so much heart and sole (and sweat) that goes into this sanctuary, it is truly amazing.
In-Sync Exotics is an amazing group of dedicated individuals who give their all for the good of the big cats they rescue. I am amazed at their hard work and success and I wish I had the time to spend with them helping these beautiful animals. Their facility provides large enclosures with "play areas" for the cats with enrichment activities to keep them active, plus pools for the tigers! They engage the community in learning about their rescue programs thru effective use of social media as well as local publications and mass media. They have special events during the year, such as the Big Cat Birthday Bash and their Annual Easter Egg Hunt which brings out the local families to the sanctuary. The work they have done with local, state and national animal experts is outstanding. In-Sync has made great progress in the area of providing treatment to sick and injured big cats in the least stressful possible way using conditioning techniques. Vickey and her team of volunteers are to be commended for doing such an outstanding job. It makes me proud to say that I support their work.
Our family began volunteering for In-Sync Exotics in 2007. Since then we have seen so many animals rescued and nurtured back to health by their highly dedicated, often full time + VOLUNTEER staff. Their devotion to these animals is truly inspiring and even lead to my oldest son replacing a roof on their commissary for his Eagle Scout project.
Personally, I feel the unconditional love and dedication to these animals shows up most when there is nothing left to do for them. The compassion I have witnessed on countless occasions is what this world needs more of for sure.
Thank you In-Sync Exotics!!
After hearing about In-Sync from a friend and following their stories on Facebook, I decided it was finally time to go and check things out for myself. So on a recent trip back home to visit family, we all piled in the car and headed out to see the cats. My 2 year old son loves the zoo, and he loved In-Sync. The animals are so much closer, and it feels like you can really get to see them in their world. It was such a wonderful experience. Also, from Facebook, I constantly read about the new animals they get, and the pictures of where they come from. It is beyond words for what In-Sync does for these animals. The people of In-Sync offer these cats a new life, and they are the definition of GREAT!
When I first visited In-Sync approximately 3 years ago I thought this was going to be another one of those road side attractions that just want your money. Boy was I surprised, not only was this not the case but the facility was clean and well run. The cats that I saw were well cared for and healthy. I was able to read the stories about the cats and see the before and after pictures. I have been coming to In-Sync for about two and a half years before I finally signed up to be a Volunteer. The couple who run In-Sync do a really good job of maintaining the place and I like to think of them as the cat whisperers. When the cats are either rescued or arrive they are usually in need of major attention and they get that attention whether it is medical or just love. You really have to come on out and see what I mean to be able to believe what is being said. So come on and check out In-Sync for yourself, you will believe in miracles.
We love taking visitors to In-Sync when they come to N. Texas to visit us. The staff and volunteers are truly dedicated to the cause of rescuing and caring for the beautiful animals in their care. Our daughter already has plans to volunteer there when she is old enough, and I am taking a group of co-teachers there as a fellowship this Fall. One of my prayers is that many, many more people will visit this remarkable place and donate their time and money to help keep In-Sync running.
I first became involved after an article in our local paper. I donated a large sum to help a Tiger with cancer by adopting him. That was several years ago, and I have adopted numerous cats since then. Why? Because these cats get the very best of care, regardless of the cost. This place is better than any zoo. The visitor can interact with the cats and see their individual personalities. My father, who was confined to wheelchair, loved to visit this place every time he was in town. Together we funded the visitor center so that others could enjoy this wonderful place and could buy souvenirs that would help support their programs. I've visited several other similar facilities in the area, and none even come close to the quality of this facility. It may be too small for Charity Navigator to list, but it deserves top billing and more publicity.
We have been involved with InSync since 1999 and have seen the hard work and dedication exhibited by Vicky and her tireless staff. One truly cannot appreciate the commitment and love it takes to give these magnificent animals a happy and healthy environment until you witness it it first-hand. In spite of the heartbreaking histories of these cats, these are truly the lucky ones to be able to live out their lives at InSync. My wish is that one day there would be no need for a place like InSync, but until that day comes, an abused or neglected exotic cat could not find a more wonderful life than the one provided by Vicky Keahey and InSync Exotics.

Over the last decade I have worked with several non-profit organizations including The Make A Wish foundation and The North Texas FooD Bank shooting their fund raising videos and helping them raise millions of dollars. After seeing the exceptional work In-Sync has done and getting to know some of the volunteers I decided to donate my time and resources to help them further their cause because I truly feel their work is absolutely invaluable. With out this organization many if not all of these cats would be dead. The commitment I've seen is unflinching and whole hearted.
I have been donating to In-Sync since I first visited the sanctuary for these magnificent animals. To me, the work that In-Sync is doing is something that is coming straight from the owner's heart, and it shows. I have told as many people as I can about the place and the work they do and try and get them to donate as well. In fact, this week, one of my best friends is going to donate money based on my taking her there. If I had the time, I would volunteer there. Unfortunately I can only visit as a guest, but one day I hope to be able to do more as a volunteer.
I have been volunteering at In-Sync since 2005. I don't get to go out as much as I used to since I've moved to NH, but I make sure I go out every time I go home for a visit. I've seen so much growth and improvement at In-Sync over the past 6 years. They definitely use their donations wisely and in the most needed areas. Just by touring the facility, you can see how much they care for their cats there. It's all about their happiness and comfort. They have great events that's fun for the entire family too. Safety is a top priority for them. I've seen them implement many great policies to make sure the place runs smoothly and safely. Such a great organization, would recommend it to anyone!
I actually heard about In-Sync Exotics from my massage therapist in 09 who used to live down the street from there and have been going ever since. It's the most wonderful place ever. Watching what the cats come there as and watching them get healthily is amazing! I can walk around there for hours and it's 100 times better than a zoo because you can get so close to them. I have brought many people to visit as well but I also enjoy going by myself so I can spend more time observing the cats. When the owner Vicki talks from so far away you can just see the cats ears perk up and they get so excited. I'm so thankful for Vicki & her husband and all the staff to give these cats a second chance and such a wonderful life.
I've taken my family to visit the In-Sync Exotic wildlife educational center and they were so amazed at how well the animals are taken care of.
The Love and attention that these animals receive from the staff is amazing. I've seen many post on facebook with wonderful support coming from the community. It's a wonderful thing that this group is able to rescue these beautiful animals from a place with such deplorable conditions and bring them to In-Sync to be not only feed and cleaned, but Loved. Their hearts are truly for these beautiful creatures.
The education that In-Sync is teaching our society on having compassion and respect for them is very much needed.
I've visited In-Sync Exotics and keep up with their newsletter regularly. It's a wonderful place where big kitties and other animals are loved and well cared for. The volunteers are super-friendly and you can see how much they care for all the critters big and small. (There are some small kitty visitors who greet you on your visit, too. :) ) I donate as much as I can, and I'm so happy to help a great cause!
I have been volunteering at In Sync Exotics since 2005, and have loved every moment of it. I have watched it grow, and watched it save so many lives. They take extremely good care of the cats, and it is obvious the comfort, safety, and happiness of each individual cat is top priority. Great place to support!
I had found them on Facebook, since I have a love for all animals BIG and small, I followed them for a while. After watching and seeing how they take such great care of their rescued cats, I had to go check it out for myself. This is a great place for these abused or malnurished cats to come to. The volunteers work so hard to take proper care of these cats. I would recommend, to anyone, that they go and check out this facility. So nice and clean and the cats look so happy in their enclosures, with pools and enrichment exercises. WONDERFUL Non-profit!! I would recommend to anyone who has the money, please help this wonderful facility to keep helping these cats!!!
I moved here from California 4 months ago, to live with my sister and go to school to earn a degree in Zoology. My sister is well aware of my fascination with cats and she was the one who turned me on to the big cat rescue 20 minutes from our home. The minute I stepped foot at In-Sync I saw Kiro, and I knew this is where I truly wanted to be. I have been apart of the In-Sync family for about two months now, and I have never worked so hard in my life; There has been my share of blood, sweat, and tears—but its all been 100% worth it. I can’t imagine anything more rewarding than being a part of the rehabilitation and care of these beautiful creatures. I have developed a bond with several of these cats, and I feel that I need to do anything and everything in my power to contribute to their well-being. I have never felt so content in life. I know I’ve found my home.
I have been volunteering at In-Sync Exotics for the past 3 years. Thanks to this place, I found a reason to live. It is tremendously rewarding to hear tigers chuff greeting you and to see sick and mistreated animals get nursed back to health in practically no time! My best friend, Nugget the coatimundi, chirps nonstop as soon as he sees me come to his little house. I am proud of being part of In-Sync Exotics.
I am a frequent visitor and a monthly donor to In-Sync Exotics Santuary in Wylie, Texas. A lover of all animals, felines are my favorite, and not being prejudice, I can honestly say that the owner, Vicky, and all the volunteers and other donors are all gifts from God. It does the heart good to see how their love and care change the lives of these animals on a daily basis. I have watched animals coming from devastating conditions come to In-Sync and get the medical care, food, water and housing to bring them back to life. These cats are their children (and I feel like my children too) and they never go without. The volunteers work endless hours caring and nuturing these cats, and the reward they receive are chuffs and purrs - which will put a smile on their face each and every time. The volunteers also take their time to talk to the vistors and tell them about the cats and educate us on their care and needs. This place is the best and I'm so glad they exist. I could only hope that more money could be raised to build more enclosures, pools for the tigers and to help with the costs of food and medical care. God Bless In-Sync :)
In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center
Several years ago, my sons, daughter-in-law and I had the opportunity to volunteer at In-Synch assisting in building several very large enclosures and play areas for their new lions that they were bringing in the next week. While working there, I had the opportunity to fall head-over-heels in love with these cats as well as the proprietor Vicky... Vicky and her volunteers do such an awesome job at taking care of these beauties and you can tell that all of these cats love them so much!
At this time, In-Sync is in the process of attempting to rescue some more cats that were left abandoned when their caregiver fell ill and subsequently passed away in Poetry, TX. To do this, donations are needed as soon as possible. No amount is too small or too large and any assistance that you can give would be greatly appreciated by the caregivers as well as these majestic animals!
I came to In Sync for the first time after being told by volunteer Wayne Washburn about the big cat birthday bash. As a volunteer for the North Texas Cat Rescue for over a year now, I am already a HUGE fan of animals! However, big cats like those at In Sync have always facinated me. Once I arrived at In Sync, I was amazed with how close you felt you could get to the cats, while being safe behind two separate sections of sturdy fencing. The cats look happy, relaxed, and healthy. I was so excited about my visit that I brought my mom for a visit when she came to Dallas from California last week. When we came, cougar "Kane" I believe his name is, was just rescued from Poetry, Texas, and was resting in the cool visitor's center. My eyes filled with tears as I was told by one of the volunteers that she didn't think he was going to make it the week before, as he was so weak he could barely raise his head. I knew then that I wanted to volunteer my time and what little extra money I have (school teacher salary doesn't go far!) to the rescue. I have since filled out a volunteer application and am going to visit with Chemyn next Saturday for an interview to join the volunteer staff! I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of such an amazing sanctuary! It is sad that these type of facilities must exist, but since they must, I want to help! Thank you In Sync staff for all that you do, and I hope to be a part of the team soon! I will also be walking in the Tiger Trot in September for sure!
