"LOVE" it's all about "love" which is very evident at In-Sync. From the hard working volunteers to the cats favorite owner & care taker Vicky! She glows when she speaks about her cats. The facility is always clean, everyone is always working & will gladly tell you stories on each beloved cat............even their horse & the goats LOL! It's shaded well, very secure & a thrill to see these animals come from nothing blossom into a beautiful thriving animal.I thank my lucky stars I live close enough to go see them & especially knowing there are people like Vicky & staff that want nothing more than to make these cats lives safe & taken care of. God bless them.
If our health care system could take as good a care of us the way Vicky & all the volunteers at In-Sync take care of all these beautiful cats........how great that would be! In-Sync is the perfect forever home for these animals they care for. I've never had any bad experience while visiting.Everyone is very knowledgeable if you have a question.& very friendly. You can absolutely tell there is a connection between the care takers & the cats. Their care & comfort come first with the workers & boy do they work!!!! Thank you ALL that work there for making In-Sync a caring & loving home.
An amazing non profit rescue. I volunteer here and the staff is so concerned with the safety of the animals and staff and each and everyone here loves all the cats. I would highly suggest at least paying a visit to this beautiful place.
I have been a supporter of InSync Exotics for twenty-plus years. It is remarkable and extraordinary to see Vicki Keahy and her team take care of these beautiful (and needy) animals. I have attended many of their events and seen how hard they work to make each animal as healthy and nourished as possible. Every dollar of my donations has brought me comfort, satisfaction, and pleasure. I know that it is well-spent and appreciated.
In-Sync Exotics is an amazing sanctuary for big cats. Every time I visit I am amazed by the care that they provide for these beautiful creatures. Every cat, no matter what age or health, is given so much love and compassionate consideration that it is truly amazing. The staff and volunteers are completely dedicated to the well being of the cats. They go above and beyond to make sure that the cats receive enrichment, proper nutrition, expert medical care, clean conditions, and plenty of room to roam in large enclosures (many that have water features). I do my best to share their story with anyone that will listen, and often send friends and family out to visit the sanctuary if they haven't been before. I honestly love In-Sync Exotics and the work they do. I hope to have time in the future to become a volunteer for them.
In-Sync is one of my favorite and one of the most fascinating places I have had the pleasure to visit... Seeing these beautiful Exotic Cats up close and personal is always so exciting for me as I have never been that close to a real live Lion or Tiger before in my life... I am in awe at the selfless work these people do to care for these beautiful exotic cats, the time and the attention given to their well-being is more than amazing. I love to visit In-Sync because I always come away with a sense of complete satisfaction in appreciating the beauty of every single exotic cat in this rescue facility and also knowing that there are loving and caring people out there who give so much of their time and their talent to ensure the best of care goes out to each and everyone of the cats in the In-Sync family. They even take the time to remember the ones that have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, a beautiful memorial wall with pictures, names and even flowers... It's evident these people really care and are God inspired!
My grandchildren were inspired to support organizations that help wildlife after visiting In-Sync Exotics and adopting "their" tigers Karma and Smuggler. This group truly engenders empathy and motivation to help save these animals! Thank you for your tireless effort!
I first learned about ISE at one of their booths at a festival. They gave me great info about how they rescue big cats, and I was very interested in supporting them. Soon after I began following on Facebook, and it was then that I really began to see what ALL they do for these beautiful cats! I saw pictures and stories of how each cat was rescued and how many were neglected, and I also learned how an incurable illness can spread amongst them and even kill some of them. I saw a team of wonderful volunteers pull together to help get funding and spread awareness to help these magnificent animals! I've also seen them grow, and I hope everyone will continue to support them by donating money because they depend on us, and these cats deserve the best life!! I live about an hour away, but I've been to the facility twice to see the cats in person. They snuggle right up into your heart!! I hope everyone will donate, and encourage everyone to go see the cats up close. They are amazing!!!!
In-Sync Exotics is near and very dear to my heart. Vicky and the folks that care for all of those magnificent cats are the very best. They all truly love each and every one of those cats and give them the best care and attention possible. I have been a monthly donor for 10 years and plan to continue as long as I am able. I have been out to In-Sync many times to visit and experience these wonderful cats first hand. Vicky is truly the cat whisperer. They hear her voice and immediately start talking and looking for her.
All you have to do is visit their Facebook page to read stories of their rescues, see the before and after pictures... Love, love, love. And to see the cats up close is absolutely breathtaking.
We have yet to visit In-Sync, but we can't wait to go. I met one of their employees at a local library one day and she was so nice to take time to speak with my young daughter about their sanctuary. Their Facebook page is wonderful and it's so nice to see updates about what is happening at the sanctuary. I'm so glad they are helping these majestic big cats. We are definitely planning a spring visit, once the weather warms up just a bit! I can't wait! I wish we had enough money to donate money to their organization, but maybe someday when our finances are better.
I came to In-Sync Exotics with the intention of seeing whether I could volunteer and help out, as my longtime career goal in life is to eventually work one-on-one with wild animals. I was not disappointed with the place. The animals' enclosures are enriching, spacious, and green, adjacent to their enclosures where they can rest out of the way of the hot sun, and sleep. They seem well taken care of by the staff, who appear to be knowledgeable people in the field with enthusiasm and genuine care for the cats. I look forward to volunteering here in the months, and possibly years, to come, and getting to know the other people involved who share the same love and interest in wildlife as I do.
I found ISE four and a half years ago. I saw their page on Facebook. I have always been fascinated with Big Cats so I went to visit. I was so impressed I asked about volunteering. The screening process took three weeks and started training. My Zen place was found. The Cats are amazing, they are not pets to is they are our friends. We care for them like friends. Their areas are cleaned every day rain, snow or 105 degrees. They are fed quality meats everyday. They get Vet care my our own wonderful Vet Emily. Staff live on site start at 0700 in the morning and work sometimes until midnight cleaning, feeding and giving meds.
One of the things I have seen that others outside can't is how our new friends change from intake to residency. We take in cats that have been neglected, most with horrid health. They are scared, angry and sick. The patience and love shown them from day one changes them. They bond with us and over time they show us care back. I have seen tigers that would hide in their den at feeding until we left that now chuff and make happy noises to see their feeders. And greet their cleaners with fence hugs. Those are when the cats rub on the fence against you like how a cat rubs on your leg just with a fence between you. Check out our before and after pictures of some of our cats and others.
We even took in a goat that showed up after a tornado hit Wylie. She had two kids. They have become part of the family. As did our two lemurs.
We also have released many Bobcats back to the wild. New intakes of bobcats are watched for a period of time to see if they have been desensitized to humans. If they can be released when they are healthy again they go to a safe release place.
The owner, Vicky Keahy, is one of my heroes in life. Her leadership in care and concern for the Cats health and safety is stellar. ISE is her life.
I now live 2 hours away but I still make my weekly trips to get my therapy. I volunteered to help rescue big cats, they wound up rescueing me.
I love this place. I plan on volunteering until my last day on earth. Then I will meet up with my cat family that have went on before me.
I donate monthly as well because I see how the donations are used. Quality food and medical care as well as housing expansions that are spacious and planned well. The Tigers have pools that they love. The Bobcats, Cougars and Leopard have climbing areas that are safe and comfy. I could go on and on. I will end just by saying you would have to see how they Cats treat the Staff to truly understand to nature of ISE.
Although I've not been there yet (hoping to visit next year), it appears to be a very well run sanctuary for the animals. All seem healthy, happy and clean. Animals are frequently seen enjoying their enrichment, and the volunteers appear dedicated. Thank you In Sync. You're all so awesome!
AMAZING! I'm obsessed with this place, the cats (plus some) and the life changing work they do there. You wouldn't be disappointed! You'll fall in love ❤️
I was there over the Memorial Day weekend with a group of girls who love cats. We were impressed by the enclosures, the recovery stories, and the staff. We had one person with us that really wanted to see the white tiger. It was a hot day and she was in her sleeping area to stay cool. A staff member happened to be walking by with an extra piece of meat from feeding other cats and she took the time to get her out and tell us about her story. Something I will always remember. The lady working the office that day was very patient with the two little girls with us. I will go back the next time I visit. I can see why my Aunt Cindy lived this place also.
Love it! These animals are beautiful and so unique. They need and deserve special care. This is that special place. These animals are amazing. Thanks for taking such good care of them.
So impressed with this place. Very evident how much they care for these animals and take care of them.
I found out about In-Sync from a coworker of my mom's. I was looking into Wildlife and Fisheries at Texas A&M for my major because of my love of animals, mainly exotic animals. I've been a cat lover all my life, and when I heard about this place hidden away only 15-20 miles from where I live, I was ecstatic. That was a couple years ago, and now I've been a number of times. I'm a part of the project volunteer staff and I take friends and family with any chance I get. I HIGHLY recommend it if you are ever in the area of Lake Lavon.
Any donations go straight to the cats, whether it be to fund toys for enrichment, a new vet center for their health, food, water bills from cleaning and refreshing their buckets, or even the new enclosure to house more cats. You can always find the cats happy, lounging about and enjoying the cool pools or their secluded dens, playing with boomer balls or each other.
When I found out about In Sync exotics I was truly amazed something like this was only an hour away from my house. I started volunteering about 6 months ago and it has truly changed my life. I try to volunteer twice a week because it's extremely important to help these beautiful animals. Cleaning enclosures is my favorite thing to do because I get to be up close and personal with animals. Building a bond with a tiger just wasn't something I ever thought I would do on my life, but In Sync changed that quickly for me. Everyone who volunteers truly cares about the wellbeing of all of the animals. We take our volunteerings duties seriously to keep the place safe for us and the cats. I wouldn't want to spend my extra time anywhere else. In Sync Exotics is the best thing I ever accidentally stumbled upon.
When I first visited In Sync my first impression was how healthy the animals looked. They all appeared to be well fed and had sleek coats. As my visit continued I also noticed that many of the cats were actually playing with their toys, enjoying waterfalls and pools, and seemed- well- actually "people-oriented". I wouldn't say they were tame by any means, but it was clear that their experiences at In Sync were good ones, and that they were used to positive interactions with the staff. They had large and clean shaded areas as well as large yards, which I was told they rotated to throughout the day so that all the cats had a chance to be in the large yards and play. I also like that In Sync very diplomatically educates visitors with wandering "Animal Ambassadors" who circulate the grounds and answer visitors' questions about the cats as well as educating them about the follies of trying to own a wild cat as a "pet", and about the "cub petting" and canned hunting industry.
On a subsequent visit I was also invited to see the commissary (I was considering volunteering at In Sync). Each animal had their own food menu and plan, based on their preferences (!) as well as health.
I am now a full on volunteer in training. Safety and cleanliness are paramount here. The work is hard and the facilities and tools are very modest, but everyone here truly cares for the animals and works as a team. I am looking forward to spending more time at In Sync and getting to know some of the cats better.
I visited this place for the first time a year ago and I immediately knew I wanted to be apart of what they are doing. When you visit, you see how much love each of these cats get and it really shows. Now that I'm volunteering, I see it even more. I see people sifting through meat to find just the right piece for the picky eaters, I see the money go directly to the cats and their health over decoration to please the public eye, I see people staying up all night with a cat after surgery just to make sure they don't bite at stitches and so they aren't alone, and I see beautiful bonds formed between animal and human. It's been an amazing experience. Visit, and you'll see for yourself.
this exotic place is a great learning place for young kids. If your kids or yourself love wild animals, then come to the in-sync exotic inc.
This amazing place has been right in my own "backyard" for many years, yet I first heard of them during the summer of 2013 when they were experiencing their worst time ever: the distemper outbreak. It was heartbreaking. The cats got sick and many didn't make it. All of the volunteers were working around the clock trying to treat and save the cats. They would go to their jobs and as soon as they were off-work, head to In-Sync for hours of heart wrenching work for their cats.
There is no vaccine for felines. but major precautions and the best preventatives available are in place.
Since then, things have gotten back to normal, but the level of commitment by these volunteers has not waivered.
The volunteers are just as amazing as those they care for. Always willing to openly share their knowledge and genuinely glad the visitors are there.
The work they do for the cats can best be described as miraculous. One look at the "before and after" photos on their website says it all.
The best thing about In-Sync, is of course, the cats. And good things I can say about the volunteers and what they do everyday of the year is unending!
I first visited in March of 2015 and began volunteering the following month. The commitment of staff and volunteers to these animals is phenomenal. If you are ready to brave bumpy, country roads on the edge of Dallas to find the correct gravel lane that leads to In-Sync, you won't regret it. Inside are happy cats and some tiger pools that are to die for. The newest enclosures can only be accessed by ducking under a horse gate but they are well worth the trouble. I volunteer often and highly recommend In-Sync for a visit to anyone who loves big cats and wants a bit of pastoral adventure.
The level of commitment by staff and volunteers to the animals is unparalleled. Animals physical and emotional needs are equally addressed. What this facility is able to do with their resources and physical space is amazing. The facility is also strongly connected with the animal welfare community in general and generously volunteers time and resources to help other facilities/organizations with relocation efforts. It's clear that the cats are their primary concern. A class act organization!
In-sync is an amazing place full of people who dedicate their time and energy into these animals. It's truly breathtaking how beautiful these creatures are and without In-Sync most of these cats would be dead. Every time I see the cats I'm amazed at how far they have come since first arriving at In-Sync.
Fantastic place to visit. Very educational for kids and adults. Volunteers are fantastic and always willing to answer questions.
This place is beyond greatness!!! It is my favorite place to go and to feel the love and care they show these angels is magical!!!! They are truly dedicated to the care and nurturing of these magnificent creatures! In-Sync Exotics is the best!!!
In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Education Center takes in sick, abused, and unwanted exotic felines and lovingly nurses them back to health. The cats are maintained in outdoor enclosures with covered areas for protection against the weather. These beautiful animals are provided with mental and physical stimulation to keep them healthy and happy. In-Sync truly cares about the well-being of all their residents. Check out their website and FB page!
I first visited here two years ago. I spent a great amount of time talking to the volunteers. The cats are so well taken care of and so loved. You could feel how much the cats loved the volunteers back. All the chuffs and moans you can imagine. I was hooked and became a volunteer myself as soon as I could. Come see us! You get so much closer to the cats than you will at a zoo. You can almost count their eyelashes.
I am a volunteer at In-Sync. I am very proud to be at a facility that cares so much for the cats that are under our care. We strive daily to make their lives more enjoyable. Our only reward is the chuffs and moans we get each day and we treasure each one.
I love In-Sync! They take such great care of their animals! You can really tell how much love and care they give all of them. That's why I support and donate as often as I can.
I have visited In-Sync several times over the last year. Each time the experience is amazing. The staff is so knowledgeable and patient with questions. They are always helpful and encouraging. The experience they provide and the work they do is so beneficial and I always am recommending them for others to visit them.
Amazing place! The animals are incredibly taken care of. You can see the before pictures and realize the care and time they have been given in order to fully recover. The staff loves the animals so much that they recognize them just by looking at them! They're always willing to answer your questions and tell you about their feline friends! I love In-Sync so much and I am sad I can't be close to them anymore but I will always support them with my donations. They opened my eyes and continue to educate us about a horrific industry that's a real problem. Without their work hundreds of lives would've ended up who knows where!
The care they provide and the LOVE they have for the animals is obvious just by walking around the place and seeing how healthy, happy, relaxed and playful the animals are. These cats know they have a good life and are thoroughly enjoying being pampered! I proudly support In-sync exotics and will continue to forever!
I became aware of In-Sync Exotics 11 years ago when my teen age daughter told me about a classmate of hers whose mother ran this exotic cat rescue. I couldn't wait to get over there to see if it truly was a legitimate operation. Wow! I never left after that first day!! In Sync gives each cat individual care and diets determined by their needs and the condition in which they arrived. Medical care is top notch and the staff continually checks blood work, weight, food consumption, etc. to keep good track of their health. The cats are provided with environments that duplicate as closely as possible what they would need in the wild: swimming pools with water falls for tigers - all of whom love to swim; high platforms for lions who love to lay down to survey their domain; ramps, platforms and tall structures for mountain lions and leopards who love to be up high and look down on people. They all have access to large grassy playgrounds. Every enclosure is cleaned every single day, even holidays, and meals are served in bowls with their names on them! (since they are each on their own individual diet). Great care is given to make sure each cat gets individual attention each day and they all get enrichment at least once a week - usually more frequently. The love given to these beautiful animals is palpable as you walk around the grounds and see how relaxed and content they are. Every single one of them is a rescue or has been rehomed to us by owners who found out that they do not make good pets. This place is amazing and all of the animals who call In Sync home would have nowhere else to go if they did not come here, to this welcoming, loving haven.
I have been a volunteer at In-Sync Exotics for nine years and I really cannot imagine nor remember what my life was like before I started working with these magnificent animals. The cats at In-Sync are actually family to all of us who are lucky enough to be near them. We cry when we see them come to us at first sick, frightened, undernourished, covered in open sores, and then the joy begins as we watch them blossom into the magnificent animals they were meant to be. The love that is showered over them by staff and volunteers makes the magic happen. It takes a lot of cleaning, positive vibes, great food, correct medication and great vet care to achieve these successes - none of which comes cheaply. I know for a fact that every penny goes directly to the care of these exotics! I am so proud to be a member of such an outstanding sanctuary - the cats' comfort and well-being comes before all else, and that is as it should be!
I first visited In-Sync in December 2012 for their Xmas lights tour. I was hooked, but was too busy with work. Two short months later I was laid off from my job of 35 years - so I decided to just early retire and needed something to do. This is when my life changed - I was a volunteer with In-Sync and hooked. I had always had a passion for big cats, but had never truly understood just how special they are. A short two months after I started is when disaster struck at In-Sync in the form of canine distemper. It was the most heart and gut wrenching time to see these apex predators fall to such a cruel disease. I was just getting to know these cats and then watched them and called keepers when I felt the cat needed them. I never knew my love for a cat could grow so strong in such a short time and then to have my heart ripped out when they didn't make it. I will have to say it made me question my decision to volunteer here at first - but - there were other cats who also needed care and love. The whole experience of this outbreak, getting to know all the cats here, the care and love they receive daily - it made me grow as a person - it made me stronger - it made me a better person and it made my heart full. My passion for this place still grows after 3 years of volunteering here. If you are looking for a place to visit, donate to or volunteer at and you have a love for big cats - this is the place to do it. There is nothing in this world that makes my heart smile as much as this place. While many of our cats came from not ideal situations, they are happy, healthy and loved - and they are with us for the rest of their lives.
Very nice place! The animals are well cared for and happy (not to mention BEAUTIFUL), and the staff is knowledgable and friendly. I've never been so close to a big cat as at this place--truly a wonderful experience!
My daughter, who loves all animals but especially big cats, found In-Sync several years ago and has since become a volunteer, she drives over an hour to get there. When my grandson was younger he wanted to adopt a tiger for his birthday so he did. There is an adoption program but the cats never leave their home and you can only visit through the fences. He is now old enough to volunteer, so he gives up one Saturday a month to do so. I have visited many times and always find things clean, the animals well cared for with playgrounds, toys, enrichment, swimming pools and dens which are cool for summer and filled with hay keep them warm in the winter. Each variety of cat is cared for in that cat's best interest. Tigers like swimming pools and water tubs, lions do not. Their feeding time is late in the day with no visitors present, except by special permission, so that the cats can eat in peace. When a cat has lived out its lifetime, it is respectfully cared for and its name goes on a memorial wall. The ashes are placed in an urn chosen just for that cat, and maintained in a special place. No cat goes unloved. All together a wonderful place for some of God's most beautiful creatures that can no longer, for whatever reason, live in their natural world.
I have been volunteering with ISE for just over a year now and it's been such an amazing experience! It is truly a place designed and geared toward the animal's best interests. We are open to the public only a few days a week and even when we're open, we keep things quiet and peaceful for all of the animals. You can come to ISE and really get up close and personal with these beautiful animals without infringing on their space and environment. I always recommend to anyone and everyone I meet to visit ISE. It's honestly an experience you and your family will never forget.
My family and I have been volunteers/supporters of In-Sync for over 15 years. You won't find a more caring, dedicated and hard-working group of people anywhere. All share the same love and devotion for these magnificent animals. We are grateful to be a part of it.
My wife and I visited In-Sync several times and were very impressed with the care provided by the staff and cadre of volunteers. In 2014 we applied to become volunteers and underwent an extensive training program. Having an insider view of In-Sync reveals so much more of the dedication and commitment of the staff and volunteers. It is a very serious sanctuary where the health, safety and happiness of the residents cats is primary at all times.
Tasks are performed to rigorous standards and total focus and discipline are constant expectations. Meals and treats are prepared daily to exacting standards. Every enclosure is thoroughly cleaned daily 365 days a year. Occasionally horrible weather is not an excuse. Each cat gets the medication they need for any health issues. It can be very hard physical labor but no one complains. Everyone realizes that they must do whatever it takes to insure healthy, safe and happy cats.
We have a decades-long history of volunteer work for non-profit enterprises. None more well-run nor more important than In-Sync. In-Sync is an extraordinary place and it it an honor to be a volunteer there.
I've never seen a group of more hard working staff and volunteers! The love and care that is given to these cats is beyond words. The animals that call ISE home are being given the love and care that most have never received in their previous lives. In-Sync works 24/7 to provide this for all who call this home!
This sanctuary is beyond amazing! The animals are all so taken care of down to every detail, it is truely all about them! I have felt extrememly blessed to become a part of this amazing group of people who care for these animals and feel a great deal of happiness everytime I leave and sadnes at the same time to not stay and watch the cats get their love and play time! Their training program is great to keep the cats comfortable, happy, and stress free in their own environment while doing routine checkups. These cats are spoiled rotten and deserve every bit of love and happiness they can get! As a visitor to the sanctuary, the staff and volunteers are so helpful in answering questions about the cats and where they came from to who they are now. The changes and their stories are unbelievable! It's a real thrill to be able to feel so close to these amazing cats ! Highly recommended for visitors and volunteers!
I've been volunteering at insync for less than a month and I can see the love and devotion every staff member and volunteer has for these animals. They are truly blessed creatures to be so loved and so very well taken care of. It's a wonderful atompsphere full of kindness and compassion.
I've been a volunteer at In-Sync for roughly 2 years now, and another review hit the nail on the head when they said they don't know who rescues who. I come to the sanctuary after having a bad day, bad week, bad month, etc, and one chuff from my favorite cats or a few fence rubs from the lions that you worked SO HARD to gain the trust of will change my mood completely. These cats are the epitome of forgiveness and learning to trust again. After all they have been through, they still find it in them to lift their heads each morning, put on a show for the staff and volunteers by means of showing off in their pools or with their barrels, ripping up their enrichment, or just plain by being absolutely adorable. They come from the absolute worst conditions and yet find it in them to love again. We could learn so much from them. These cats rescued me. They saved me. From myself, from others, and from life itself. They are my happiness, and as long as this place is around, I'll be here to stay.
In Sync is my home away from home, and each cat there touches my heart in a different way. I have never felt so passionate about something as I do when talking about what I do at In Sync to someone who has never been there before. To earn your first tiger chuff and to be standing right in front of a lion as they sing...it really is unlike any other feeling. It is a blessing to be able to call myself a volunteer here. The staff are amazing and so incredibly helpful. Their dedication to the cats shows every second, every hour, and every minute of the day, and they never deviate from the level of perfect care that they show each individual cat.
So blessed. I really am so blessed to be here.
I have just completed my first year as a volunteer & have received my promotion to a senior volunteer. This has been an amazing year of caring for these amazing cats. It is an incredible place for healing, both for the cats & for those who care for them. Many have been rescued from deplorable conditions but with time & lots of love and attention, they recover. They teach us a great life's lesson: today is their favorite day & for many, the person with them is their favorite person of the moment. This is their forever & safe home, and yes they're very spoiled as they should be. In a perfect world there would be no need for a place like this, but as long as mankind exploits animals for his/her own gain, places like In-Sync are critical for large cat rescue, care, & rehabilitation. I'm privileged to support them with my time, money, & compassion!! Come join us, the cats are waiting to meet you.
I have been a volunteer for 8 almost 9 years. I feel so blessed to be a part of the team at In-Sync Exotics! Every person that volunteers there has a mission, to make sure all the big cats out there have the best life possible for them. You can not imagine the feeling you get when a tiger who has come to the facility starving, afraid, angry, excited, distrusting people, starts to bounce back. It has always amazed me how they can ever trust humans again since humans are the ones that have betrayed their trust. But to witness the transformation is unbelievable to me. When that tiger sees you coming and jumps off the den and comes to the fence chuffing to see you, just because you are you... the most gratifying feeling I think I have ever had. The people and staff out there are the real deal, never in my life have I had the pleasure of working that that kind of dedication. This experience has changed my life, I'm not exactly sure who has rescued who...
I volunteer at In-Sync Exitics and it is the most rewarding experience I have ever had. We work hard to insure the health and well being of each cat we have here. Sometimes we get these cats and their mind and body have been broken, but give us some time to get their body started back in the right direction and their mind follows, wow, what a experience! They get their dignaty back, then they start to accept us into their world. Amazing! We love to educate the public on why you really don't want to own a exotic cat, that is one of the things I always stress when showing people around. That is one of the most important things we do.
I have worked at In-Sync Exotics for over four years as a volunteer. I have been rewarded with lifetime friendships from volunteers and staff members and been given the opportunity of to work with amazing animals. It is the most incredible experience to have a 600 pound lion run to you because he is happy to see you (a fence is always between us!). I never thought in my lifetime that I would have the opportunity to work with such amazing animals and dedicated people. It is the volunteer job of a lifetime and will change your life. Visit and learn for yourself how this amazing place touches your heart.
I have been volunteering at Insync for almost 3 years now. I have made friends with staff, volunteers, and many cats. It has been the most rewarding work I have ever done in my life. I am so thankful that I found this wonderful place that has had such an impact on my life. The work that is being done is incredible and I am very fortunate to be a part of this incredible non-profit.
Every time I visited In Sync I was impressed with how clean it was and how healthy and happy the animals were. Now that I'm a volunteer I'm even more impressed! Vicky's standards are high and the cats and lemurs seem happy and are definitely well taken care of.
I have family in Dallas and we actually visited this sanctuary about 2 years ago and still speak about it. I was impressed with the amount of space the animals had access too, the way the enclosures are designed so that they can change the environment(move cats to a different space for change) access for cleaning, actual beautiful swimming pools, lots of enrichment opportunity etc animals were clean and in good condition too. Each animals story is posted on their enclosure and it is heartbreaking where they come from but heartwarming to see them at In-Sync. The staff are dedicated and I felt it was a good place to be if you are a big cat ;)
I have been a volunteer for almost 3 years at In-Sync, visiting and working at the rescue facility weekly. I was drawn to volunteer after visiting the facility with my family at their yearly Birthday Bash event for the cats. I consider it not only a pleasure but a privileged to serve the animals of In-Sync and work with an amazing team of dedicated, selfless individuals who give so freely of their time, efforts and resources to insure the love, care and safety of the cats. If given the opportunity to share information about In-Sync I take it, talking to strangers, friends, any chance at all and I am sharing the wonderful news about the facility and the work they do. I am, as so many are, a huge supporter of this facility and the work they do.
As a volunteer of In-Sync Exotics, I can say this is amazing facility whose number one priority is making sure every cat is happy and healthy. The proof shows in these beautiful animals. Recently we had some tigers arrive from another facility and several of them were underweight. After only 2 months at In-Sync, they look SO much better - gaining weight, getting the healthy sheen back into their fur, and happily playing with their toys on the playground. Every cage is cleaned everyday by strict standards. These cats are loved so much by every volunteer and staff member and the cats absolutely know it! Every dime In-Sync gets goes to the care of the cats and it takes a lot - cleaning supplies, food, vet care, food, new enclosures, food, medicine/vitamins, food...did I mention the food?? Good, because the cats would never forgive me if I didn't mention the food! :)
I have been a volunteer for a year now and I count my blessings every day that I get to spend time with these wonderful furry felines. There is a peace that washes over you when you spend time with them even if they might just be sleeping and don't know you are there. The staff and other volunteers are the most wonderful people who care greatly for all of our residence. I couldn't think of a better place for our beloved furry friends and me.
I have been a volunteer since March of this year and we have had a emotional year but I wouldn't change a thing about the time that I get to spend with these wonderful creatures and terrific staff. If it weren't for InSync Exotic Sanctuary and Rescue I don't think I would have known about the issues that plague these beautiful creatures let-alone given the opportunity to be a part of this.
I donate to this charity because I know my money goes where it should go - to the animals. While the people facilities (staff/volunteer offices, parking, etc.) are bare bones, the cat's facilities are top notch. These animals have been rescued from less than stellar situations, but at In-Sync they have plenty of clean room to play, sleep or even swim in their own pools. They are well fed, with diets developed for each cat depending upon species and it's own individual health needs. Their health is monitored constantly and treated by expert vets when needed. Volunteers & staff treat not only the cat's physical needs, but make sure they have toys/enrichment items and experiences and companionship to keep them mentally happy as well. In short, at In-Sync these exotic cats are loved by loving people.
I went for a visit during Spring Break, I have never seen a place that was as clean and animals better taken care of. It is an amazing place!!
I visited In-Sync for the first time last summer after watching a news story about their fight against an outbreak of canine distemper virus. It only took the one trip for me to know without a doubt that I had to be part of In-Sync. When I saw the love and total dedication to the well being of each and every cat that calls In-Sync home, I was overwhelmed. The complete and utter selflessness of every staff member and volunteer as they tried to fight a disease that threatened everything they loved made me see that heroes don't always wear a uniform or get paid. That love and commitment continues every day at In-Sync. I see it each and every time I am there. The cats are happy and loved beyond anything they ever experienced before. They come first, in everything. Each cat is cared for individually according to its needs because each is different and special. It's amazing to see a tiger feel grass under its paws for the first time when all they have known is concrete. Or to see them play with a toy for the first time when all they have known is boredom. In-Sync is the first safe and happy home most of these cats have ever known. I am so honored to call myself a volunteer for In-Sync.
This is the cleanest and best place for the kitties to spend the rest of their days. Vicky is so amazing at the wonderful care she provides for the cats ! Such nice people too!
The care and protection they give is outstanding. The beautiful animals are given a new chance at life in a safe place I plan to visit again soon There needs to be more caring people in this world this sanctuary gives me hope for the future
I'm extremely proud to be part of this incredible sanctuary! I visited others many times in the past. Some were nice, some not so much but the first time I visited In Sync, I was astounded at the level of care, love and cleanliness and felt I had to be a part of it. The workers were so very friendly to my friend and I while we walked around. Now that I am a part of this wonderful place, I can honestly say that the cats are definitely number one priority. All donations go directly to the cats. Care is never anything but 100%. If they need vet attention, they have it. Preventive care is a priority and food is carefully prepared every day. But the absolute finest part of this institution is the LOVE each and every volunteer and staff member gives to the cats. Watching new residents blossom is a real treat to behold.
The nicest rescue site I have ever seen. The staff and volunteers are pleasant and dedicated to the big cats. The love and affection for these rescued animals is overwhelming. The large facility is inviting, and makes one feel good about the lives these animals will have from now on. They keep the public informed with Facebook and their website. It is exciting to keep up with their news and events. It is a treasure more people should know about.
In my opinion In Sync Exotic is the best by far from most Big Cat Sanctuaries. The great care the Vicky and her staff provide to the cats is unbelievable. I've worked with big cats for over 15 years. Vicky by far is the most talented director I've ever worked with. The cats are truly blessed to make In Sync Exotics their home. I've watch the staff work endless hours caring for the needs of all the cats!
Hi, Jean Robb here. I've worked with In-Sync Exotics for more than a year now. I believe that some people have a great gift of working with animals because the animal can feel the kind heart and protection from that person right from the start of the relationship.
Vicky Keahey ( President & CEO of In-Sync Exotics ) is a great example of this!
Vicky has an amazing gift for working with the big cats she and In- Sync Exotics cares for. I will be forever grateful to Vicky and In-Sync for saving Apollo's life. It took love, trust, hard work and many hours of dedication to get Apollo back to the great cat he is today. I've never seen anyone working with animals have the talent and gifts that Vicky has to offer the cats at In- Sync.
Vicky works endless hours not because of ego or motive but simply because she loves the cats. Please consider making a visit to In-Sync to meet Vicky and all the big cats she care for!
Originally my family and I were just visitors but my two step-daughters and I have now become volunteers as of March 2014. We have seen the dedication, hard work, love, laughter, tears and overall welcoming into a new family from this amazing place. Respect is top of the list for everyone and every animal here. I can't imagine a better place to dedicate our time to. We will forever be a In-Sync volunteer family!
I'm in awe of the relentless passion, compassion, respect, commitment and love that the entire In-Sync team (including the amazing volunteers) has for animals. The round-the-clock care they give to these beautiful animals in need (especially during the distemper outbreak), and the dedication they have for education and research never ceases to amaze me. We are fans, donors, visitors for life!
This place is amazing! Everyone there is dedicated to the care of the cats. The love and respect for these cats is evident every minute of the day. The focus is always to ensure this is a safe, happy and loving forever home for some of God's greatest creatures.
I started volunteering this past spring at In-Sync. I was and still am amazed by the dediction of Vicky and all the other people that dedicate their time to care for these cats. It's amazing to see the transformation of these cats after they arrive. Some are scared, sick and just plain sad. In a very short time and lots of love and attention by the staff, they become the beautiful creatures they were meant to be. The only thing these beautiful creatures need to do is be happy, that is the main priority of In-Sync. The people at In-Sync pride themselves in safety for both the humans and the cats as well as making sure the cats have clean and happy homes. These cats are loved like no other.
I have been a volunteer for over 2 years now and I couldn't be any more honored and excited as I am today. I have seen ISE go through good times and bad times. The care that these beautiful, exotic cats receive is absolutely PHENOMENAL to say the very least. The cats come from a variety of places and often have never felt the luxury of grass or dirt on their paws. What a joy it is to see them being spoiled rotten by such a great group of people. I could go on and on about what a great place ISE really is......but I'll sum it it up in a few short words. The volunteers, staff and interns are fabulous! The cats are the joy of our hearts and they teach us about being better people. Absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, this place is a five start rating!
