Programs: Each year Goodwill Southern California (GSC) serves more than 22,700 people with disabilities and other vocational disadvantages and directly places nearly 2,000 job seekers into jobs outside Goodwill. GSC has 25 career service locations and more than 50 retail stores in Los Angeles County (north of Rosecrans Avenue), San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. GSC has more than 1,600 employees. Two-thirds are people who have disabilities or other barriers to getting a job. Services offered free to clients: On-the-job training in computer/office skills, truck driving/forklift operation, custodial service, food service, light assembly, packaging, document shredding, and e-waste de-manufacturing. Three "One Stop" Career Centers and six Career Resource Centers offer job search support, workshops, and Internet access to online job listings. Five youth centers for at-risk youth, including those on probation, where Youth get help to finish their education, gain leadership skills, certified vocational training and help finding work. Basic education in English, math, independent living skills, English as a Second Language, and GED (high school equivalency certificate) classes. Job Club: Job search technique workshops and ongoing individual support. Group & Individual Counseling, behavior/anger management and 12-step substance abuse recovery programs. Career Evaluation Center: skills testing and career planning for adults and students with disabilities. Veterans Training Program for disabled and long-term unemployed military veterans. Three prisoner re-entry programs for ex-offenders, to help them find jobs and become productive community members again.
