CSIX Connect is an excellent resource! It provides valuable opportunities for networking; also great insights from keynote speakers. I highly recommend CSIX Connect.
CSix fills an important role for many of us looking to get back into the workplace, after a period of not working. There are many valuable tips I've gotten over time, and the meetings are always interesting.
This is an exceptional resource for those entering or re-entering the job market. It provides a nurturing atmosphere to practice networking, and it provides a forum to give and get connections. Each weekly meeting features a guest speaker who is an expert on at least one aspect of job hunting.
CSIX is an excellent resource for job seekers. The speakers are top-notch, and the networking is great. I'm glad I found this group.
I have attended CSIX for almost 2 years in my job search and the support and training that I get from CSIX helps me to stay motivated and encouraged. This group is very supportive. Also, I am getting training that helps be more effective in my job search. Also, I get good contacts with companies. I really appreciate CSIX.
This is a great group of professionals dedicated to help each other finding (the) job whether you're unemployed or not. They share knowledge, support and connections which is invaluable not only for the all the members but also in specific area's.
Amazing, amazing, amazing! I can't help repeating the word when I think of Csix Connnect. A friend of mine suggested that I attend a meeting. Now I attend regularly and am also a volunteer. I haven't landed a job yet, but I have been able to build a healthy network. It is my intention to remain involved in the activities of Csix Connect even after I find employment. WHY? When I reflect on every single meeting, I realize it was time well-spent. Members genuinely help each other and are promptly responsive. The food served is simple, healthy, and delicious; it is prepared by a competent, humble, pleasant-natured chef. All events run smoothly and on time! The environment of mutual respect promotes the building of morale. I would like to urge all professionals, currently unemployed as well as employed, to attend at least one meeting.
A wonderful group of people, especially the volunteers who run this nonprofit group.
A godsent for job seekers in the South Bay.
I joined CSIX a few years ago when I was job hunting at the recommendation of a friend.
During the times I have been in transition I have found CSIX to be the premier
job searching non profit organization in the Bay Area.
In the words of Hamid Saddat, CSIX's founder, getting a new position is about,
"networking, networking, and more networking".
The 5 dollars charged covers lunch. Quite frankly this is a "steal" in contrast
to the value received. We have all gone $50 events and not received an ounce of
value for our time and money.
Each weekly meeting at the Saratoga Federated Church in Saratoga has a speaker who
discusses a topic relevant to the job search.
To be honest, I have stopped checking who the speaker will be before I attend since I am
sure I will get a lot value out of the meeting regardless of who the speaker is.
I highly recommend CSIX to any job seekers as well to anyone who might be employed
in the Bay Area since the any day you arrive at work can be the first day of your
next job search.
CSIX Provides an invaluable service to the community. It is a welcoming group of individuals all with the common goal of finding work. They help each other with resources and contacts. Meeting weekly also grows there network, keeps there spirits up, and helps them stay motivated. It is run by volunteers that work tirelessly to bring interesting speakers and connect everyone to resources.
I joined CSIx when I was job hunting. CSIX is a great place to get yourself prepared to get back to the job market. The weekly meeting in Saratoga helps members share job leads, practice communication skills and there are great speakers too!
I highly CSix to job seekers in the Bay Area.
Great way to meet people and network. The weekly presentations were helpful and I have made contacts beyond my job search. I am still in contact with the group thru the weekly hike. CSIX allows drop ins and a short 1 1/12 weekly meeting to stay connected. Some other job seeking groups require considerable volunteer hours to participate. Additional volunteer hours are needed to produce the programs and infrastructure, but it is flexible. The resume workshops include real companies who hire some employees from the workshop.
CSix provides structure when you have none. Its events provide valuable contacts that aid your job search -- recruiters, HR folks, advisors. Everyone is positive and helpful.
CSIX is a great organization. Each weekly organized meeting has job leads, networking, informational presentation and concludes with lunch. I highly recommend attending these meetings when you are between jobs. You may even get connect to your next job.
This is an excellent organization to help job seekers get job leads, contacts inside targeted companies and network with people. In addition to excellent weekly speakers, they sponsor Panel Resume review workshops with HR and recruiters from high tech companies. This is an opportunity to have your resume reviewed and receive feedback on the spot. Many have resulted in interviews. The environment is very supported and professional. Highly recommend job seekers to attend and volunteer at CSIX Connect.
A great resource for job seekers in the bay area. The speakers they get are invaluable, from Recruiters who tell you how the system "really" works and how to get noticed, to others who know how to get the most out of newer tools like LinkedIn. Or even just general inspirational speakers that get you fired up about your career.
Honestly I could not have found a better organization to volunteer with. I came out of college with no career path insight. My alumnae did nothing but when I came into this organization they opened their arms to me and really taught me quickly the power of a team. The team here makes you feel that this is a team and a battle we are fighting ALL TOGETHER versus AGAINST each other.
This is a great organization for networking and for getting inspired, especially for people who are in transition and looking for their next job opportunity.
CSIX CONNECT is one of the best non- profit organizations I have had the pleasure of working with in the past several years as a volunteer. They specialize in helping people out of work reconnect into the workforce. They are committed to working with the unemployed to become employed again and in this day and age that is no mean feat. Excellent program!
I began attending CSIX one year ago, when I lost my job. It was not easy for me, because for the last twenty years I had job. I never believed CSIX can play a major role in my life, little by little I integrated myself in CSIX. I learned a lot there such as how to prepare for the interview. I should mention particularly Hamid(the founder) played a major role for me. In the beginning that I was in no mood in talking to people, encouraged me to open up and talk to new members. I have now a part time job and this is because of CSIX connect. It really reconnected me. Thanks CSIX and thank you Hamid.
I got a job with Palm (a few years ago) with the help of a CSIX member. I didn't even know the member. I just made a request online. This is a unique and great organization. I wish more people saw value in CSIX and support it. Hamid has done a fabulous job and is the unsung hero of our community.
CSIX Connect is a valuable organization enabling collaboration of professionals cross the country and those seeking entrance into the industry. CSIX Connect has had an incredible positive impact on many people's lives. We all may have encountered with individuals who help or support the others in job seeking process. CSIX is unique since Hamid Saadat, the founder established a professional system for everyone to succeed by exemplifying natural leadership and strength of character, providing educational resources, in-person networking and mutual support. As an individual who has lived in three different continents, I am impressed with the impact of such a solid organization on upgrading people's social and professional culture. CSIX Connect creates a culture of commitment in helping people in their professional life.
Great organisation, helping and supporting (not only) folks between careers!
I am honoured to know the founder, Hamid Saadat, since many years.
Keep up the phantastic work!!!
As an outstanding Peer-to-Peer organization, CSIX enabled me to land my current job, as a real success story.
CSIX has been successful in returning people to work, as a volunteer organization, set aside from most outreach programs, by the following additional characteristics:
-- Positive and encouraging spirit
-- Moral support that focuses on the entire well-being of the individual, as a whole
-- Practice of bringing in actual hiring managers, to answer questions, and tell it, as it is.
CSIX Connect is an organization that offers education, networking, and support for unemployed people. The quality of speakers is excellent. The meeting format encourages people to interact. We learn how to help ourselves and each other to be successful. CSIX has helped me with many things such as motivation, inspiration, improving skills, learning to network, building relationships, online visibility, using available tools, good job search skills and discipline, among other things. They provide a valuable service for people and I am glad to be associated with them.
CSIX is known as a networking group for people looking for new jobs or careers. It does a terrific job of that, but it is also much more. It's a place to meet other people and learn about their interests, a place to learn about what works and what doesn't in finding employment in Silicon Valley, a place to hear an excellent speaker each week on a variety of topics. CSIX also puts on events, such the three-part series of workshops where industry recruiters help job-seekers improve their resumes and gain authentic interview experience. CSIX also sponsors special interest groups for people to home in on specific industries, for example the EcoGreen Group which helps people explore careers in renewable energy and green tech.
CSIX Connect is a great support group for unemployed or for people looking for career development. When I first move to the Bay Area, I went to several of the meetings, getting lots of help and tips from fellow job seekers. It is a valuable service and an important support network.
I have known CSix for several years, performing a valuable service by connecting job seekers to employers. It is a free service and highly effective. The leadership is consistently helpful and supportive. I highly recommend job seekers to attend a meeting and get involved with a highly effective organization
CSIX Connect is an amazing support group for folks that are recently unemployed. I was a manager during the dot-com bust and so many of the folks I had to lay off found support and connections to help folks find their next positions. It is an all volunteer organization and charges nothing to become a member. It is so inspiring to see a group make a difference for the sake of helping others. Not only are they non-profit, I don't think they have any income at all.
I was both a Volunteer and a Client Served. I was so fortunate to find CSIX and have recommended it to many other job seekers. CSIX provides a wealth of information in a terrific environment. The speakers, and special events provided by CSIX educate and stimulate you to be creative in the job search. I was fortunate to find a job. Having the opportunity to network with the group each week brightened my week and gave me encouragement.
CSix has helped me through several job transitions over the past 10 years. I've take many opportunities to volunteer and attend many SIGs, special interest groups, over the years. Not only did the group give me a chance to develop professional skills I used on the job, but I built up my resume.
The range of guest speakers has been enlightening.
CSix is an organization I have been involved with for some time. It is an excellent resource for connecting with employed and unemployed people of similar interests, skills and industries. This organization uses networking, training sessions and special interest groups to help you stay connected and updated to expand your network. People volunteer their time and skills to help the organization run efficiently. Great environment and great people!
CSix is an organization I have been involved with for a long time. It is an excellent resource for connecting with both people of similar interests who are out of work as well as keeping connected with those employed. It provides a great place for staying connected and getting connected. This organization uses some processes that help move along your job search. There are subgroups within CSix which allow people with very specific interests to get together help echother.
Csix provides an excellent resource and place to go for those who are out of work. They have weekly speakers and quarterly functions on resume review/workshops, interviewing where recruiters from hiring companies come in and talk about their open jobs and hiring process. Csix allows networking and meeting with others in the same situation.
Hamid Saadat has created something quite remarkable with CIX CONNECT. He and his volunteers have found the cure for the isolation, discomfort and disruption of a job search. His solution: get people connected in a warm, personal and highly effective way.
The CSIX difference is that all are encouraged to come with a spirit of giving. The idea is to eliminate the self-serving and negative aspect of "networking" and transforms it into something infinitely more powerful...tapping into the tremendous power of people helping others. By it's very nature, that spirit of giving creates a ripple effect of good things for all involved.
In addition to teaching and inspiring this higher caliber of networking, the meetings and events feature experts who share the advanced job search strategies and techniques. Hamid's personal touch is the added magic to what makes this organization so special.
I have attended many events at CSIX Saratoga and was impressed each time with the high quality of the programs, speakers, volunteers, and numbers of people served each week. This is the highest caliber program for job seekers in both breadth of topics covered and depth of support. CSIX attracts very talented trainers and speakers who have great credentials in their fields in a wide range of areas: motivation, communication, interviewing, networking, branding, core values, find your true calling, get unstuck and salary negotiations. I am very very impressed with this program and the fantastic impact it has on people in career transition. Julie Kramer, Career Coach, Roadspring.com
I have been using CSIX Connect for the past 10 years since my first layoff, to take advantage of meetings, talks , networking and job leads.
Hamid and his team of volunteers are doing a fantastic and priceless job to help unemployed professional in Northern California.
I have been both a volunteer and user of Services. The people/ job seekers are friendly and knowledgeable. Networking with other job seekers has been very helpful. Hamid Sadaat and Pam Livingston bring in speakers, who provide lot of useful information and encouragement for job seekers. Saratoga Federated Church has also been a great partner.
I have used the services of CSIX for four years. As a job seeker, I consider them one of the very best organizations in the Bay Area for making connections, getting excellent advice, finding support and moving ahead in the pursuit of work.
Recently, they were able to secure a funding grant from a local church. As a result, they have been able to serve a simple lunch each week at minimal cost. They attract some really excellent speakers, and their mailing list is full of good leads and helpful information. They also hold panel programs with corporate recruiters.
I give them my strongest endorsement. Thank you Hamid, Pam and the team.
CSix in Saratoga CA is a welcoming, professional networking group. I've enjoyed every meeting I've been to, I've learned new stuff, and I've met great people. I love the idea of meeting over food.
CSIX is a wonderful, welcoming place for individuals in career transition to network and for mutual support. It brings in inspirational speakers, organizes resume and interviewing workshops and much more. Kudos to Hamid and Pam for doing an amazing job in coordinating everything and I am grateful to the friend who introduced me to this excellent organization. Meeting with the group once a week definitely lifts my spirits during my job search.

CSIX is so helpful to those people who have been laid off due to the economic crisis or for those that are under employed to help them find new jobs in their field. Hamid and Pam have been incredibly generous with their time.
Great resource for job seekers and offers opportunity to network as well improve skills that are critical to the job search process. Kudos to Hamid for founding such an organization and providing leadership to this fully volunteer run organzation for more than a decade.
CSix provides a warm and welcoming support for the people search job or in transition. I attended CSix meetings a few years ago. I learned a lot of useful information and had the opportunities networking with many nice people. I had very positive experiences with CSix meetings, and greatly appreciate all the support I got.
CSIX is a wonderful organization that helps people find jobs by refining their job searching skills and talents thru education and practice. They provide a service that is greatly needed in todays economy as most people don't know the secrets of how to present themselves in the best light. This is a place to learn that.
Everyone at CSIX wants to help one another. They have job fairs, resume workshops, great speakers teaching job skills weekly, people share job leads and ask for referrals, and there is excellent networking too. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. They serve lunch at a very reasonable cost. Hamid Saadat and Pam Livingston are exceptional leaders for the group. People volunteer to help the group too: Soliciting donations for coffee and food for big events.
When I was laid off, I got outplacement service as part of the severance package. I was lucky. When I attended Csix meetings, I could see that much of the same professional advice that I had gotten was available for free, for those who are not so lucky. Csix was an important lifeline for support and ideas for me, at a time when I felt that I had personally hit rock bottom.
When I lost my job, this place gave me hope and helped meto look past the pain, and gave me strenght to go forward.
CSIX is a fantastic resource for anyone who is in any type of job transition. In addition to networking opportunities, the organization brings in HR experts to provide an insider's tips on resumes, interviews, and other topics of interest to the job seeker. Plus, as people find jobs, they become an additional resource to help others with referrals. And with an ever expanding alumni, the reach of the organization in truly vast. I was so impressed with the quality of the members that I was able to help recruit 2 people from CSIX into my company. I think this is the best feature of the organization.
CSix is a great job search and support network for job seekers. At CSix meetings, we have experts who speak on topics of job search strategies and self-improvement. Members also support one another by sharing job leads and contact information on potential employers. Those who find jobs tend to stay in touch to give back to the group.
There are also special interest groups within CSix. I belong to the EcoGreen Group. In our early Thursday morning meetings, we often have talks on various sustainability topics, given by members or by outside invited speakers. Giving a talk a very good way to learn, or prepare for a job interview, since there is a friendly audience asking lots of questions. The EcoGreen Group also works with the Silicon Valley Clean Tech Speaker Series, offering wonderful opportunities to learn from experts in the field and to network with a wide range of professionals.
Back in 2003 when I was laid off and out of a job CSix gave me an opportunity to network with others, get lots of good information and ultimately led me to my next job.
CSIX was instrumental in getting me through the job search. It was the first time I was unemployed since college. This organization extremely help in assisting me during that time. I would and I have highly recommended this organization to others who were in the same position I was.
CSIX is run by a group of super great volunteers! They organize many very useful events that help those in transition between jobs. Very dedicated, kind and helpful people!
Provides opportunities for professionals to network with others and learn from guest speakers in order to accelerate job search success.
This is an amazing organization. It is one of the best examples of volunteers and dedicated professionals helping each other out. People from all backgrounds, experiences and abilities can gain something. It's a quick way to get contacts, meet others and learn/relearn socializing skills when you really need it. Truly a gem in the community.
They provided a warm accepting atmosphere when I was having a hard time finding a job. Speakers were always motivational and I made some good contacts too.
CSIX is an amazing resource for networking and getting educated by expert guest speakers! There are numerous opportunities created out of this group. If you're looking for the next job and want to learn some tips and tricks while meeting others in similar roles, I highly recommend CSIX. Hamid has done a great job over these years coordinating this group from volunteers.
