As an undergraduate social work student, I was selected to intern with Access Partnership for part of my undergraduate intern hours required for graduation. I have learned so much as a student intern with Access Partnership. Additionally, the opportunity to intern led to a job opportunity after graduation. They say you never burn bridges, so I made sure to stay in touch and about 2 weeks after graduation, I received an email about a job opportunity with Access Partnership. I've been with Access Partnership for 9 months now, in addition to the six months I previously interned with the agency.
We've helped hundreds of people gain access to specialist medical and dental care. We also go the extra mile and take donations of gently used medical equipment to give out to those who may need it and be unable to afford it for whatever reason.
Every non profit has its values... Access Partnership is valuable because we connect people to care they may otherwise have not received.
I am greatly appreciative to have been awarded the chance to intern for this wonderful organization. I witnessed firsthand its impression on the community and how valuable it is to their patients. I believe this organization is doing something remarkable and can only get bigger from here. I never thought I would be so appreciated by so many people but patients let us know daily how much Access Partnership means to them and how the work I am doing impacts their lives.
I am very impressed by the mission of this organization and the many ways in which they serve the community and improve access to healthcare. Candice Driskell, the executive director, shows great passion for serving the community and has dedicated her time to helping those in need. This is an impressive collaboration by an extraordinary lineup of stakeholders- Sentara hospital, United Way, & Bon Secours to name a very few- all of which should be applauded for their contribution.
Being forwarded the opportunity to work with Access Partnership and witnessing first hand the active role played in serving the community through medical and dental needs, for those who would otherwise be without care, has made for a very positive experience. The dedication of staff, student interns, and volunteers is noticed on a daily, and is very inspiring.
Working with Access Partnership has been a perfect marriage between my schooling and love for serving others. I have worked for other non-profits and Access Partnership is among the best. Our mission to help those in need is always in the forefront on daily operations.
I was at the Outreach Access Partnership puts on for those who can not afford dental needs. It was amazing to see how many people they helped and how the people who got work done were so grateful! Its about helping ones community, and that's what Access Partnership does!
Great experience. We were out in the community doing enrollment classes for the medical program and its great to see an organization make a real difference in peoples lives. I got to speak with some of the patients and they were really grateful for the programs.
I was just out of my first trimester when one of my back teeth started causing problems. It got to the point where I couldn’t sleep at night, I couldn’t eat anything and no amount of Orajel would help. My supervisor referred me to Access Partnership. Miss Heather went over the problem with me and found a solution through a dental event at no cost to me. This was great because I was losing a lot of time at work due to the problem. I did have to a get a release form from my doctors but after that it was just a couple more days. When I arrived at the facility, I had my x-rays done and the next morning I got my tooth pulled. It took them a while to pull it mostly because they couldn’t numb me all the way. I did get a filling in a long needed tooth while I waited for the numb meds to kick in. I am very grateful for what Access Partnership was able to do for me.
Access Partnership's Community Access to Care Program will provide me with a pathway to good health and full time gainful employment once my conditions are treated.
Bad experience, they sent me for medical help, and at the end all the bills were refused, and I am now stuck with what I couldn't afford in the first place.
Found client was enrolled in our program but no documentation of requests for referrals. This program works with Primary Care sites to connect their patients to specialty and diagnostic care. No calls or referrals received from PCP or client were logged in.
I am enrolled in the Community Access to Care Program. I am writing to share the wonderful experience I have and how thankful I am of the help I received through this program. I have a skin condition for the past 6 years. I went to many doctors but they were not able to prescribe the proper treatment. I was so worried because this affected me daily. I was given a referral to the dermatologist. There I met a very good-looking and kind doctor and his team. They were so wonderful and patient; they all took their time to listen and took the extra time to come up with a proper diagnosis. He did a biopsy and prescribed an ointment which works tremendously. Ten days later and I no longer have the pain or itch. I could not afford to pay for a biopsy not to mention to pay the doctor. I just want to say to everyone thank you for putting together a wonderful program that helps the needy. God Bless all of you and keep up the wonderful work you are doing. Thanks!
This is wonderful! I appreciate you adding it (Marketplace Enrollment Sessions) to your FB page as well as headlining it in your weekly newsletter. It makes my soul soar to partner with people like yourself to make our corner of the world a healthier and better place. I feel extremely fortunate to have you and Access Partnership in our region. Being a member of the Community Access to Care program is wonderful because I don't have to worry about getting medical care if I need it.
I just wanted to say thank you for your rapid response to my inquiry and my client’s need for a bedside commode. This bedside commode was dreadfully needed as an intervention to reduce falls with my client. I appreciate all of your help.
I just enrolled in the Community Access to Care Program but I feel much more secure knowing I'm enrolled in this program and can get some financial help with medical. I am a 25 year old female and I just got diagnosed as Hepatitis C positive. I'm very happy Access Partnership is there for me and can help me during this scary part of my life. Thank You!
