Mission: World water project is a team of social entrepreneurs who strive to deliver the world's best home water filter to those in the developing world. It is organized exclusively as a supporting organization for the benefit of, to perform the functions of, or to carry out the purposes of, the knoxville christian community foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization.
Programs: The organization developed and distributed safe water systems to a non-governmental organization, tivawater, and supported tivawater's efforts in other countries to educate entities and individuals in safe water systems. To date, world water project assisted in distributing over 100,000 tivawater home filters to homes and villages in uganda, guatemala and romania. World water project continues to expand its partnerships in east africa as well as other regions. In partnership with other non-governmental organizations, world water project plans to continue working toward its goal to distribute over 10,000 filters per year.
in 2014, world water project continued its development of chicken city farms, a 13 acre poultry school in uganda that provides hands on education to young men. This working farm teaches necessary skills to the workers who will graduate and evenutally run their own farms. The school will drastically improve the lives of all its students and will signficantly aid in providing high quality poultry throughout uganda.
