As the only independent, not-for-profit cancer research laboratory in the region, Wood Hudson has made some great strides. The scientists at the laboratory conduct research using a state-of-the-art tissue bank over over 1.6 million specimens and have worked closely with industry leaders. In addition, Wood Hudson has trained 238 students in the Undergraduate Research Education Program. This program helps prepare students for graduate studies and careers in science and medicine. Wood Hudson has won the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Small Business SUCCESS Award in the not-for-profit category for their great work. Continued success of the laboratory will certainly ensure development of better cancer treatments and prevention measures.
