Mission: The mission of Women 4 Women is to improve the health and economic well-being of women and girls by increasing awareness, expanding resources and creating solutions to strengthen families in Kentucky because when women do better, families do better. And when families do better, teh community does better.
Results: Women 4 Women will teach over 250 at-risk middle school girls during the 2009-2010 school year. We will serve more than 2,500 low income women and families and train more than 75 financial education coaches through our Finance 4 Her program. Since June of 2008, approximately $361,000 has been raised and distributed to our partner organizations through our Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Fesitval (visit www.champions4her.com for more information)
Target demographics: Our programs are offered free to the community and are designed specifically for low income women and gilrs in the Louisville Metro area.
Direct beneficiaries per year: W4W programs: Finance 4 Her™, the Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation Fit 4 Me program, the Norton Women’s Pavilion Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival, and the Fund 4 Women & Girls reach out to provide free services to more than 70,000 women and families locally.
Programs: * Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Foundation Fit 4 Me: an after-school fitness program designed to improve the health and self-esteem of underserved middle-school girls by encouraging healthy lifestyle habits. * Finance 4 Her™: a financial education program that teaches women specific skills and gives them the tools they need to make sound financial decisions and create realistic personal spending and saving plans. We do this through a unique series of courses and a network of financial education coaches. Finance 4 Her™ has been credited with creating a particularly effective program – one that works with women lacking even basic math and budgeting skills. * Champions 4 Her Walk, Run & Festival: a 5k walk, run and festival that brings together area nonprofit organizations in collaboration to raise funds and awareness for the issues facing today's local women and families.
