Mission: Mission: From person to person – hand to hand – Christian love is transmitted through our lives giving hope and building healthy relationships to willing vessels. Vision: WITT, Inc. (Wo-Men in Transition Together) is dedicated to create awareness, generate opportunities and hope for the hopeless. We will focus on continuous improvement by collaborating, identifying, adopting and implementing best practices. We will strive to re-create a positive perception of Wo-Men and Youth making transitions to reach and obtain their goals and successes.
Target demographics: At-risk youth in the Rochester and Beaver County areas between 12 - 17 years old
Geographic areas served: Rochester, PA and Beaver County
Programs: Y.A.P. (Youth at Promise) We focus on children and families who are not being reached by other churches, schools, and agencies within our communities. Some children do not fit into the youth groups at schools, Church Sunday schools and other activities. Even those who attend may not be reached due to their circumstances or needs. Our objective is to get the youth’s attention to recognize their strengths and realize their potential. Our incorporated interactive teaching techniques encourage the youth to both explore and express his/her own thoughts and feelings. Fun activities provide practice for the skill just learned. Exercises are designed to deliver an “Aha!” effect in similar situations outside the classroom environment. Tackling the Tough Skills is a curriculum based on the principle that learning does not have to be painful in order to be effective: Attitude: A state of mind Responsibility & Commitment Communication: It’s more than talking Decision Making – Problem Solving Preparing for the Workplace The Career Path - G.E.M.S. (Girls Esteem Made to Shine) If more children in this country were born to parents who are ready and able to care for them, we would see a significant reduction in a host of social problems afflicting children in the United States, from school failure and crime to child abuse. G.E.M.S. will specifically address the needs of teenage pregnancy and prevention through abstinence education, relationship skills training, leadership skills, and building self-esteem. G.E.M.S. will focus on Prevention, Life Skills, and Post Teenage Pregnancy. We will create awareness, equip, empower, and generate opportunities and hope – hope is not dead it is yet alive. Our objective is to get your youth’s attention, reshape their priorities, and help them to become properly motivated. When a youth is properly motivated: They want good rapport and relationships with their parents They want to succeed at school They want to get along with others They want to be trusted They want to contribute to their home and society
