Causes: Animal-Related, Animals

Mission: The Corporation is incorporated under the Nonprofit Corporation Law of 1988 for the following purposes:
 1.  To provide loving homes for Golden Retrievers that are rescued from shelters or pounds, which are strays, unclaimed by owners after published notice, or that are relinquished by their owners to WAGS. Such dogs will be given proper medical attention, updated immunizations, spayed or neutered (except for special circumstances as determined by a Veterinarian); carefully evaluated and relocated into compatible homes where assurances can be made that proper care will be continued.

2.  To educate the public about the breed, the need for obedience lessons for all dogs and to advise and/or suggest further referrals where medical or behavioral problems exist.

3.  To encourage, assist and provide guidelines to other purebred fanciers to form rescue programs.

4.  To encourage responsible care for all dogs through public education.

Notwithstanding any other provisions of these Articles, the Corporation shall not carry on any activities not permitted to be carried on by a corporation exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (C)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or the corresponding provisions of any future United States Internal Revenue laws; or by a corporation contributions to which are deductible under Section 170 (C) (2) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 or the corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue laws.
