Wildlife Waystation is in need of REAL help. The job they do taking care of all the animals they have is extraordinary. They are in dire need of more space too! Martine was a pleasure to meet, and the volunteers are truly dedicated here. Keep up the good work guys!!
Here's a very informative investigative report that says it all. http://www.thefoothillrecord.com/news/featured/the-wildlife-waystation-a-cult-of-personality/
To quote a former board member "it has lost sight of its mission".
They have used donor funds to send FedEx letters to FIRE VOLUNTEERS in 2016.
Sadly, this organization has lost it's way. The founder is suffering from Founder's Syndrome and making poor decisions that affect the animals' care. Anyone who questions the founder about animal care gets fired -- she fired about 15 staff & VOLUNTEERS (free labor) within the last year. Please do not give this place your money as it will be mismanaged. Please do your research before donating your money to any charity.
Review from Guidestar
This place has been in around for 35+ years. It is such an amazing place to visit. The animals get the best care and special treats/enrichment. They are so happy and it's such a positive experience. I'm told that they were open to the public until 2003 and that they will be open again soon. I can't wait to come up again and bring my friends. This is not a zoo experience. You are up close and personal with the wild and exotic animals. I was fortunate enough to be part of a Safari Dinner, which is the ultimate dining experience. For a donation, you have dinner with the founder and director, Martine Colette and basically have the place to yourself and hear her amazing stories. Love Love Love!!!
