Wildhaven Ranch is a truly phenomenal place. I have volunteered for several years at Wildhaven and the love and respect that is displayed for the animals and the environment is unparalleled. It has been such an amazing experience to be a part of such an important and pivotal non profit organization. I have had the opportunity to learn so much about all of the animals and the environment that we all live in. I love that the public is able to come to the ranch and is empowered to learn and take part in such close encounters with the animals. It is so important to educate and empower future generations so that tomorrow has the possibility of being better than today. My experience has honestly been life changing. I have been able to act as a wildlife care provider and have been blessed to spend time caring for each animal and learning about their specific behaviors. I love Wildhaven Ranch and all that this facility stands for.
I've been involved with Wildhaven on and off for about 5 years and have taken the WCP classes. I enjoy taking care of the wildlife that is at the ranch. I have been involved during two major wildfires and personally helped to locate assistance to get the animals off the mountain to a safe location. My Grandfather and I have gone to help during stormy weather. It has been a privilege to help Diane and Roger in taking care of these beautiful creatures and I have learned so much.
Our group was given an up close and personal view of wildlife from our area. We were treated to a spectacular face to face with owls, eagles, deer, rabbits, coyotes and bears. Each of us learned more about each species that Wildhaven Ranch was treating and rehabilitating. Each volunteer trained by the CEO, Diane, was thorough and professional with our group. They were able to answer the various questions that my group of teachers had for them. We were able to bring back current and helpful information for our teaching in outdoor education.
When I have family and friends visiting the mountain I take them to experience Wildhaven. It is a great learning experience for my nephews to see first hand the great work Wildhaven does with all of the animals. My husband will bring fresh fish from his trips to the animals, we wish he could fish more often for them. The care given in rehabilitating and releasing the sick or injured animals is amazing. The quality of life given to the various animals that can not be released is wonderful. Wildhaven is truly an asset to our community!
Our three families were vacationing in Lake Arrowhead and we went to visit Wildhaven Ranch. The directions were excellent and it was easy to find. We were greeted by a husband and wife who run the ranch. They were so generous and kind to our group of 10 people. They actually set up a private tour for us even though they hadn't planned to be open to the public that day. They were very accomodating. It was a very cold day and we bundled up to see the animals. We observed the bobcat in his habitat, feeding and training of the bears, and seeing the birds of prey. We know that this amazing place experienced such devastation in the 2003 fire but we came to realize how determined they are to continue their work to educate and inspire others to care about wildlife. They provide many opportunities for the public to get involved. Everytime we go to Arrowhead I call them up to arrange a tour for the group I am with. Wildhaven Ranch is awesome!
