I sent almost 18 inches of very thick hair about 2 months ago and never got a thank you or any notification that they received my hair. This really upsets me because it was a very personal donation and I think my hair may have been sold. I tried to give Wigs for kids no stars but it wouldn't let me.
As a hair professional, I would for sure highly suggest Wigs For Kids as the charity of choice to donate your long ponytail and money to. The wigs, Wigs for Kids donates to their recipients are nothing short of amazing! It was a total honor to help someone to fit their new wig on.
Our family will forever be grateful for the Wigs for Kids program. Our daughter underwent Chemo treatments for a rare autoimmune disease in early 2020. The significant hair loss was difficult for a young teenager, and heartbreaking to watch as a parent. The ensuing pandemic created significant sourcing challenges for Wigs for Kids during this time, but they worked diligently, staying in touch, and were able to provide a hairpiece before school when back to in person classes. Our daughter's hairpiece, affectionately know as Lexi, was there for many special milestones made more beautiful by the confidence and normalcy it provided during a very complicated yet blessed year, including Confirmation and 8th Grade Graduation.
Wigs for Kids is a great organization to have in the community and partner with. As someone who helps supports bringing their mission to life, you can truly tell that the members of their team embody this day in + day out. Everyone should know about the work that Wigs for Kids does.

When I developed alopecia at the age of 15, I was left with no hair. That’s when I found Wigs for Kids, they provided me a free wig at no cost (every year). The experience was so comforting and now that I’m 22 I’m forever grateful for the connections and relationships formed thanks to wigs for kids. (I included a picture of me at 20 years old in my Wigs for Kids wig)
I can’t say enough amazing things about Wigs For Kids. This organization has truly changed my life and gave me the carefree childhood every child deserves. AND most importantly taught me how to love myself for what’s on the inside. I was provided with countless wigs growing up that all looked so natural and beautiful that my family would have never been able to afford on our own. I’m so grateful for this organization and the way they have touched my life and the lives of so many kids.
Wigs for Kids is a wonderful organization to volunteer for. I have been not only cutting ponytails, but also fitting children for wigs for 3 years now. I have the opportunity to talk to families and recipients about the services provided and all I ever hear is positive. Thanks Wigs For Kids for all you do to help others.
I cannot say enough good things about Wigs for Kids! My daughter who is 13 has had Alopecia since she was 1 year only. We were told about Wig for Kids from her Dermatologist. She was getting ready to start Jr. High, which is hard enough on any kid, yet alone a girl with Alopecia. From the moment we applied for a wig, they were very hands on. They work with GREAT salons to do the measurements for the wig, they called to update us on status of wig delivery, and still reach out to check on my daughter after receiving the wig. Wigs for Kids allows my daughter to have a full human head wig that makes her feel like she fits in with all the other girls in Jr. High. She plays multiple sports and can do so many hairstyles with her wig nor does she have to worry about the wig falling off. The confidence that my daughter has received because of Wigs for Kids has been amazing to watch. We are now in the process of getting her second wig and she is so excited. Thank you once again Wigs for Kids!!!!!
We partnered with Wigs For Kids since the day we opened our salon. We quickly fell in love with the organization because of its mission and commitment to helping kids. My favorite thing about them is their humanity and responsiveness. They are always seeking ways to build upon their relationships with their stylist and salon partners. It's always nice to know that the hard work of our salon is actually being recognized and appreciated by the people we aim to support. They are truly an amazing organization with the best staff and it truly starts at the top with its founder Jeffrey. They have even gone above and beyond to help one of our staff members who is currently undergoing chemo treatments, there are truly not enough nice things I can say about them and how much we appreciate their organization!
For several years now, Wigs for Kids has provided internships for students to do written translations from English to Spanish. As a result, the internships have benefited the Baldwin Wallace Spanish Program students to improve writing language skills and helped inform families with obtaining hair replacement systems for their children. The Spanish Program at Baldwin Wallace University is grateful to have this opportunity and looks forward to more years of collaboration.

Well I do not have a story yet. My name is Kimberly and well I've been wanting to cut my hair for years to donate it to a lil girl or boy in need but don't know how to send my hair to wigs for kids. Before I ask for help from others, I just took my son for a haircut and we'll finally had enough nerve to do it. Yes, feels great. I think everyone that is healthy should think about donating there hair every 3yrs. Bless you ♥ all
