Nonprofit Overview
Mission: The mission of Whiskers and Tails is to end the needless suffering and death of innocent animals by promoting spay/neuter, incorporating active rescue and various forms of humane assistance and information and to make sure to speak publicly on all issues regarding animals and the connection between animal abuse and domestic violence. It is also our mission to provide various forms of assistance to companion animals and their families who are in need.
Programs: For some years we have been providing food, clothing and other items to the families of companion animals. We also provide bedding, food and other items for animals stuck outside in extremely cold temps.
We let families know about low cost or free altering services, we provide resources for unwanted animals and we also find utility assistance, mortgage or rental assistance and in some cases employment assistance for the unemployed adults in the household. It is part of this program to make sure that all basic life needs are met for both the humans and the animals.
This program includes food, gifts, holiday items, bedding for both humans and animals, winter clothing and coats and gloves and hats.
We also help families implement a coupon clipping “game” and a new budget. Every penny is allotted for specific things and if they stick to it they can see a definite change in their household finances.
