I have been lived in Humboldt County my whole life. There are quite a few local rescue organizations. Most are very good, helping as many animals as they can. However Whisker Kisses Koalition stands out to me. They're unique. They focus on cats and other critters like snakes, birds, ferrets etc. They help the ones that need special attention. They take animals that the other rescues don't want or can't take. The other rescues focus on rescuing animals that can be adopted. Whisker Kisses takes those that they turn away because they need special care and gives them a life home. They focus on providing the care needed so these animals can live happy, healthy lives.

Mission: Provide rescue, rehabilitation and safe haven to cats and exotic pets that have been abused, abandoned, injured and confiscated.
Programs: The whisker kisses koalition has rescued and currently provides a life home safe haven for 31 animals consisting of 7 different species. In addition, has helped rescue and provide permanent and foster homes for many other stray and abandoned cats, as well as helped provide spay and neuter vouchers to pet owners in need.
