Mission: WKI raises public awareness and facilitates discussion of issues of concern to Kurdish people. We participate in conferences, workshops and exchanges to ensure that Kurdish perspectives are heard.WKI promotes respect for human rights in communities where Kurds reside. Violations of the human rights of Kurds require local and international attention and remedial action.WKI is a resource center for scholars, politicians, journalists and other who want to learn about Kurdish issues, history and culture.WKI has developed and implemented humanitarian aid programs to provide health care for victims of chemical, biological and radiological weapons of mass destruction in Iraqi Kurdistan. WKI has collected health data from populations in Iraq as well as refugees from that country in order to develop more effective treatments and to inform health care providers about the special needs of civilians exposed to WMD.
