Causes: Mental Health, Mental Health Treatment
Mission: To support a vital, interdisciplinary community of professionals and policymakers to promote the social and emotional well being of young children and their parents and caregivers throughout washington. We provide the resources, tools, and supports that professionals need to provide high quality assessment and intervention services to our state's youngest and most vulnerable children and their families.
Programs: Endorsement and training improves the quality of assessments and interventions that the multi-disciplinary group of professionals working with very young children and their families provide. Endoresment is an online portfolio process that validates the training and experience of those professionals according to four levels of expertise. Applicants receive support and advising from the endorsement and training coordinator. Training opportunities are also provided to professionals that relate to the required competencies that have been established in washington for these professionals.
outreach is how wa-aimh raises awareness of the importance of the first three years of life as well as awareness of the organization and the endorsement and training program. Information is provided in a variety of methods: presentations and meetings, webinars, and e-mail distribution to over 1,000 professionals annually.
policy and advocacy is how we provide information specifically to policy makers and advocate for policies and investments that benefit young children and their families.
this includes our membership professional development services which are the networking and educational meetings that we target for our members.
