Nonprofit Overview
Mission: An umbrella organization to support world music choral education activities, including community choirs, domestic and international summer camps and workshops, sponsorship of amateur and semi-professional performance ensembles for domestic and international tours.
Programs: Village harmony summer camps & workshops, a year-round program of us and international workshops and study-performance tours. In 2012, residential participants, approximately 400; for non-residential workshops, 600+. Revenue includes concert admission income and sales at concerts as well as tuition/workshop fees.
we sponsored a touring ensemble from the caucasus republic of georgia, who came to the us for a month-long tour along the eastern seaboard and in the midwestern us.
sponsored community choirs & project weeks in boston, ma; brooklyn, ny; chicago, il; and ashland, or. These are world music ensembles open to any interested teens and adults. In boston, 70 participants; in brooklyn, 80 participants; in chicago, 45 participants; in ashland, 50 participants.
