I am a volunteer with UYJ and I just want to say that it is an amazing experience to serve the youth. Each time we go to minister I am the one who is ministered to. As a former troubled youth I know the impact it makes when someone encourages you when you’re at your lowest. UYJ meets the youth where they are and shares hope and love with them in spite of their issues. I am blessed to serve with such a dynamic group of people. Thank you Pedro for your heart to serve and allowing us to do the same.

Urban Youth Justice has been doing amazing work for a while and I have been apart of the organization for 1 year. It has truly been a blessing to my life being in these juvenile detention centers sharing my stories with the youth and giving them guidance along their journey’s. UYJ is definitely a 5 star nonprofit that was started to bring hope and justice to the youth and it is always continually fulfilling that and I’m glad to be apart of it.
I just recently started volunteering with Urban Youth Justice at the Kissimmee facility. Earlier in the year, I had the opportunity to serve at the juvenile detention center in Orlando and I ended up seeing a few kids from there at the Kissimmee facility. It was refreshing to see the transformation in one of them in such a short period of time. That is the fruit of what is being done behind them walls. This young man was now quoting scripture, and you could physically see the transformation in him even in his character, he was very respectful and well spoken. It brought things full circle what we do as volunteers by serving is making a difference and impacting this next generation in a mighty way. Not just the youth but the staff and the volunteers as well. I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside Pedro and my UYJ family. The best is yet to come….
I have been with UYJ for a little over two years and what a privilege it is to serve with Christ like minded disciples. Going into the facilities and sharing the good news brings a joy and peace to my heart. Knowing we are planting seeds that one day God will grow. I love my leaders Jessy V and Pedro who are committed to the youth and the team. Gods favor is upon this non profit and the love of Christ shows in everything that we do!

I had the chance to volunteer at one of the juvenile facilities. It was a rewarding experience. UYJ provides the lost and forgotten with mentors and parental figures that these adolescents need. Your heart will be filled when you lend a hand and help out. Great community of volunteers on board who relate to the youth.
This is such an amazing group & organization to produce changes in the life of these at-risk youth , having been in their position before we are able to God ‘s work first hand through this program that inspires, motivates, encourages & ultimately bring change to lives of the volunteers & kids as well !!

I started going into the DJJ Facilities with Urban Youth Justice a couple Saturdays ago. It was an incredible experience. These kids in jail just need an example of what a man is to follow. Most of them I found out didn't have that. They were very receptive to this ministry and I'm excited to be a part of it as a volunteer!
Been volunteering through UYJ at a facility in Ocala and it has been a blessing to the juveniles, staff and myself. The founder Pedro Rodriguez is a great friend, brother and mentor. I so much love and appreciate the passion I see in Urban Youth Justice. This ministry has been such a tremendous blessing to me personally and to the youth at the Columbus Juvenile facility in Tampa. It is also impacting the lives of young people in many of the other cities in Florida. Many times this year I have had the privilege to work with Pedro Rodriguez in helping troubled teenagers in changing the direction of their lives. He has been such a reliable partner and someone I have come to depend on. His welcoming rapport with the youth is a pleasure to see. His impact is always memorable. Urban youth justice is a non profit organization that has a huge impact on youth. UYJ has a goal to empower the youth with a message of hope so they may become who God created them to be. UYJ is focused on leading the youth to the feet of Jesus.

Lockdown, confused, The stories that Mr Pedro Rodriguez can tell you is all true My name is Rosario contino he was my mentor when I was locked down practically I want you all to be aware about one thing what he preaches is true he always used to tell us when we were locked down the most richest place in the world is the graveyard and that is true sadly my generation is so broken that youngins would go shoot other Young's would beef same block down the road I grew up trying to make money My mother she's a dopey shot up when I was younger seeing that that's messed up My father never give a f*** he was always behind a desk I never saw it as you know something.Urban youth they opened up my eyes there's more to my story but I will say that is up for me to share and I would love to share it so hopefully Mr Pedro will let me hop on one of his live when he gets a chance on Instagram also why you lock down everybody they say free free my boy this and that it's pathetic it's sad it really is for the fact of at the end of the day yeah they're saying for you but you still locked down certain time for stupid reasons That's one thing I also learn everybody says they have one life but you know what I guarantee if you had another one I guarantee you would go back in that life and fix every single mistake you made but sadly God does not give us that short shot so I woke up I figured it's game over I got to do what I got to do and I got to be a man or someone will end up putting me in that box just like everybody I know and I pray and I thank you Mr Rodriguez thank you very much for what you preach you teached me a lot
Urban Youth Justice Inc serves predominantly the state of Florida, but makes such an impact that it’s heard of in other states. I learned about UYJ while living in the state of Texas as an Urban Missionary. On one of my visits to Florida, I was offered an opportunity to serve as a volunteer with UYJ. This experience convinced me if I made a move to Florida, Urban Youth Justice Inc is the ministry team I will commit to serving with. Since then I have relocated to Florida and committed my time, gifts, talents and resources to those we serve through Urban Youth Justice Inc with a strong, diverse and dedicated team. The tools we offer, the love we share and the change we see in those we serve speaks volumes in itself about UYJ.

I've been volunteering my time with Urban Youth Justice going on 2 years now. It has been such a life changing part of my life to be able to speak to these young men who come from the very same culture and family dynamics that I grew up in.
Young men who only needed a father figure to pour into them and teach them their worth. Being able to lift these young men up and teaching them the skills to make better life choices is a blessing to me and I praise God for placing Pedro and this organization in my life to allow me to make a difference in the next generation.
This organization has been such a blessing in my life! This organization has opened doors to a community of volunteers who shared a similar vision. Meeting the children and connecting with the children has been an absolute blessing to me. I am grateful for Pedro who goes above and beyond for this organization. This man truly has a heart for the people! This world needs change and he’s making that change one facility at a time. I am grateful to be apart of such an impactful family/mission.
This ministry has blessed me in many ways. I am grateful to be apart of the work that’s being done for the kingdom, I myself was in the same seat as the juvenile’s that we minister to. Giving truth and hope is something UYJ takes real serious, inspiring the lost and broken to rise up and let Jesus take control and lead their life will forever be the mission.

I thank the Lord He led me to meet brother Pedro and while he was going through a very tough season and still is Pedro being strong in the Lord was still willing to meet up with me for the first time and fellowship with each other one on one then invited me out to Charles Britt Academy to share my testimony and rap for the Youth. Hey, I met him Pedro in 2018 I believe when I got locked up he came in the facility my last week in there and I got his phone number and ever since then I’ve got so close to Pedro and his family that I call them my own ♥️ Pedro has been the big brother figure in my life I never had and ever since 2018 I been on the right track I’m working full time staying out of trouble and much more, if it wasn’t for Pedro and his family showing me love and support I would probably be in jail or even dead right now but I’m not and I owe it all to Pedro rodriguez and the family frfr I owe it all to you Pedro keep doing what your doing bro sky is the limit ♥️
Urban Youth Justice has come out to serve the population at my program many times and the youth always look forward to this experience. I feel that the message is very powerful and SO NEEDED for so many of the teenage boys here. Often times youth can feel like they have lost their way and they just need a little bit of help and someone to care about them, be there for them and believe in them. Pedro and his team are so great at engaging the youth and making things relevant to the youth’s struggles. They make a big difference!
My name is Miguel I’m now 18 years old …Thankfully I met Pedro when I was on probation making stupid decisions in my life when I was 14 … Immediately coming out of Florida Juvenile Detention I met him at a behavioral school… I was offered his help and I accepted .. Since then Pedro would keep me off the streets I grew up in ..He would take me to places he didn’t have to on his own time and would give me fatherly advice I never had a real father … During all of this he didn’t only want to help me he would ask my brother also to ride along and tried to help others along with me and I witnessed them throwing Pedros help away .. at home I was always in my thoughts locked in my room alone getting high throwing my life away not doing any school assignments nor listening to my mother .. I was going down a path where I could’ve not been here writing this right now.. He opened me up more to God …John 3:23 “This is Gods command to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another." And I sure do have Strong Love for Pedro coming into my Life because I know with out him being in a chapter of my life I would’ve still been a delinquent… I left To California In 2019 and thanked Pedro for what he has done for me …Now I’m 18 years old And even though no I did not graduate high school I’m working on my G.E.D Pedro kept me on the right path while he could … Now Ive been a Construction Builder In Southern California For 2 years now and Have All My Bills Paid And I’m Living Life Sober

Urban Youth Justice is a homegrown organization that speaks the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the lives of youth that society has already started to discard. They help teens see that they are valuable, loved, forgiven, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives, rectifying wrongs and moving forward into new beginnings. The experience staff and volunteers know what life is like on the wrong side, and are committed to saving the lives of youth, physically and eternally.
Urban Youth justice played a big role in my life especially mister pedro i thank God we crossed paths because if we hadn’t i would’ve still been at his next visit in a facility. i never had anyone to look up to but pedro made a big impact on my life not only was he their as a friend when i needed him but also as a preacher a brother and a wise man i could look up to and i thank everyone from urban youth on actually caring for does who needed someone .

As a volunteer and donor, I have heard stories of lives changed because of this wonderful ministry. The speakers and artists who give of their time selflessly are able to speak to the hearts of these young people, show them love, be mentors, give them hope and guide them to make better choices. I have had the opportunity to volunteer with this organization and I have seen firsthand the positive effect they have on the young men and women they reach.
